Job description

We are looking for a new member of our Service Delivery Team, to contribute to our flagship projects in cancer awareness and support.

This role is part of the LiveLife team, which focusses in three key areas:

· Cancer Champions; a community engagement programme that aims to raise awareness of cancer signs and symptoms and improve rates of early cancer diagnosis. The project trains volunteers from around the community to understand cancer and be able to have better conversations with their peers about things such as the importance of taking part in cancer screening programmes.

· Cancer Confidence; a new project to enable individuals and organisations to have supportive and effective conversations with people living with cancer, and to be able to signpost to local support services.

· LiveLife, our Lingen Davies community health promotion initiative, bringing cancer awareness to communities across the region via public events and partnerships with the public, private and voluntary sector organisations.

These programmes of work are overlapping and complimentary, utilising the same community approaches and networks to engage our target audiences.

We are looking for someone with the skills to communicate complex ideas in a way that is accessible and enjoyable for a range of audiences. Someone who is creative in their approach to training, and who has the confidence to answer questions and challenges from the floor.

They will be able to adapt their delivery on their feet to suit their audience, engage those who may be unsure, and recognise and suggest improvements for the future.

They will also form part of our LiveLife team, working at public events in the community sharing information and finding new ways to engage with people. With a strong focus on health inequalities, they will look for opportunities where your presence will have the most impact and build relationships with others to open up further work. They will support trained volunteers to get the most from their roles, ensuring the remain connected and informed, and able to feed back into the wider picture of local services.

Please note that this roles require significant travel to visit our supporters, so a driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.

If you think you have the skills we are looking for, we would love to hear from you.

Interviews for this post will take place in Shrewsbury on 19th November 2026
