Rape Crisis South London is looking for a skilled and experienced professional who is passionate about improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead on the delivery of the South West London (SWL) Child Sexual Abuse Early Emotional Support Service for the CYP service. Working closely with the NHS and Schools you will manage a small specialist counselling team ensuring high-quality, trauma informed support for our young people who have experienced sexual violence. It is essential that you have a good working knowledge of Safeguarding legislation for children and adults, as well as child development.
You will have excellent communication and organisational skills and an ability to develop partnerships with schools, families, funders and other key stakeholders. You will hold a relevant professional qualification in counselling or psychotherapy and be registered with the BACP/UKCP or equivalent. You will have significant experience of working therapeutically with children and young people, ideally in the contexts of trauma or abuse.
Responsible to the Clinical Lead for CYP you will also provide additional support in the management and allocation of referrals, as well as provide additional support and advice as required to the wider CYP Service.

The Newham Mental Health Team, based at Flying Angel, operates weekdays from 9am to 5pm, offering support to individuals with low to medium mental health needs both in the building and the community. They work with other professionals to help those with complex needs, aiming to create a safe and supportive environment tailored to each person's unique circumstances and aspirations.
As part of this team, Support Workers assist customers with complex mental health issues, including those with histories of substance use, trauma, non-engagement, criminal justice connections, and personality disorders. They help customers develop independent living skills, manage tenancies, and engage in the community. Support Workers carry a caseload and collaborate to create effective, recovery-oriented support and risk management plans. Their flexible support includes physical, domestic, emotional, and social assistance, promoting social inclusion, vocational opportunities, recovery, self-advocacy, and empowerment.

About the role:
We’re excited to have launched a brand new Housing First service in Camden, and we’re looking for a passionate, skilled individual to join our team! You will be working in a unique new service that for the first time will be offering support to couples who have been rough sleeping and are to be accommodated separately in their own flats. With a three-year commission and the ability to support 30 individuals, this is your chance to be part of a fresh and impactful initiative within our organisation. You will work from a base in Kings Cross, delivering support in the community and within the homes of your clients. You will carry a case load of 5 people and will provide intensive and flexible trauma informed support that is centred around the strengths and needs of everyone. You will work closely with a wide range of external statutory agencies and specialist colleagues in the team who will include: a health worker, an IDVA, psychologist, sessional occupational health, and perpetrator support.
The service will support an equal number of women and men. The people given priority for the service are likely to have been rough sleeping for prolonged periods, have been multiply excluded from services and have co-occurring conditions. There will be a strong emphasis on safety in situations that might relate to complex abuse within relationships and externally.
About you:
- Experience working with clients who experience multi disadvantages, including building trust and positive relationships with people who have co-occurring conditions and who may be mistrustful and have a low level of engagement with services.
- A proven track record of achieving measurable outcomes with clients with complex needs.
- Awareness of the intersection between severe and multiple disadvantage and violence against women and girls (VAWG), and an understanding of how the intersection of these issues can be supported and the people involved safeguarded.
- To show leadership qualities; skills of a strong negotiator; ability to advocate and be diplomatic.
- A level of numeracy, literacy and comprehension to input data, the ability to be fully self servicing in the use of emails and the common computer packages including SHP’s client recording system.

Specialist Support Workers within Look Ahead are required to have either an extra dimension of experience or a higher qualification level as determined relevant for the particular post. Specialist Support Workers provide information, social inclusion and vocational opportunities to support people to recover and stay well; exercise choice and control in their care and lives; and participate on an equal footing in the community. Support is also provided to develop a model of re-enablement towards self-advocacy, self-management and empowerment, incorporating the principles and practice of recovery, co-production and peer support.
Well House is a crisis house supported accommodation service that supports individuals for between 14 and 28 days as an alternative to requiring hospital admission for their mental health needs. The service works closely in partnership with a multi-disciplinary team in order to meet individual needs, manage risk and support individuals to achieve positive outcomes.
The service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure members of the local community are able to access critical mental health support at all hours. The service receives referrals primarily from a local hospital emergency department and crisis lines, and may receive these referrals at anytime of day or night.
What you'll bring:

* Up to NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent or experience supporting people with their mental health.
* Specialist knowledge relevant to supporting people with a Mental Health diagnosis.

We are proud to collaborate with Liverpool City Council, local police force, crisis teams, and other agencies to offer a new night time crisis prevention service for individuals with mental health conditions in Liverpool City Centre for which we are now recruiting for Crisis and Recovery Support Workers.
Service Overview: Our service aims to provide a safe and secure environment for individuals at a crisis point in their mental health. Operating from 6pm every day of the year, our goal is to reduce hospitalizations, dependency on A&E departments and police resources. Utilizing a social model of support, our staff team will employ appropriate de-escalation and support techniques while promoting clients’ abilities to manage their coping strategies.
Key Responsibilities: As a Crisis and Recovery Worker, you will provide practical and emotional support to service users in or facing a mental health crisis. You will identify and access opportunities for service users to gain independence and confidence. You will work with service users in a recovery-focused manner, aligned with their support and risk management plans. Collaboration with other professionals to deliver a consistent and coordinated service, maximizing outcomes for service users, is essential.
Candidate Requirements: Experience working with individuals with mental health needs is required. A warm personality and the ability to work in a person-centred manner, even in high-stress situations, are crucial. A clean driving licence and access to a car is beneficial. Flexibility to work on a rota basis to meet service needs is also expected.
