The Immigration Adviser at LAH will provide advice and assistance on basic visa and immigration matters, including handling straightforward cases, often referred to as "initial advice" or "entry-level advice." You will assist LAH service users with applications within the immigration rules including visitor visas, Spouse and dependent visas, straightforward EU Settlement Scheme applications, extensions of leave and Settlement and British citizenship applications, offering advice on non-complex immigration rules and regulations, and explaining to LAH service users the relevant procedures, helping them to complete application forms and gather necessary supporting documents.
LAH’s Immigration Advice service is currently provided in partnership with Seraphus, an external law firm. This collaboration offers valuable career development opportunities for the right candidate, including mentoring and the chance to shadow one of their experienced practitioners.

Main duties and responsibilities
● Efficiently responding to LAH service users' inquiries while creating a friendly, warm, and welcoming environment
● Providing one-to-one specialist high-quality immigration advice at OISC Level 1 on basic immigration matters, including visitor visas, Spouse and dependent visas, straightforward EU Settlement Scheme applications, extensions of leave to remain, Settlement and British citizenship applications, providing guidance on eligibility and ensuring LAH service users understand their rights and obligations
● Representing LAH service users by completing straightforward application forms, such as visa and leave to remain applications, and assisting them in gathering and preparing the necessary documentation for their applications, maintaining professional conduct with LAH service Users at all times
● Liaising with the Home Office and other relevant authorities on behalf of LAH service users for non-complex matters and submitting high standard applications to the Home Office
● Assisting LAH service users with correspondence related to their applications or immigration status
● Recognising when a case is beyond the scope of OISC Level 1 authorisation, such as appeals, asylum cases, or more complex immigration matters, and referring these to higher-level advisers or solicitors
● Operating within professional boundaries, ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times
Monitoring and Evaluation
● Maintaining accurate records and case files, ensuring all advice and actions are properly documented, adhering to OISC Code of Standards and AQS
● Overseeing administrative systems for case management and partaking external file reviews and supervision as instructed, tracking workload, and monitoring submitted applications and their outcomes
● Assisting in demonstrating the impact of our work by recording clear and detailed case notes in our database and tracking outcomes against project targets, identifying challenges and issues affecting the LAH community, all of which will be used to inform our provision
● Providing LAH management with necessary information on the Immigration Advice service, including case studies, detailed reports, and relevant data when required
Professional Development
● Participating in learning and evaluation sessions with partner organisations as relevant
● Attending regular staff and other team meetings as required
● Undertaking OISC Level 2 training procured by LAH
● Staying current with legislative changes and policy updates affecting individuals' rights to remain in the UK, and adhering to best practices set by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC) and Advice Quality Standard (AQS)
Other Accountabilities
● Ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with LAH's policies and procedures as well as with the OISC and AQS Code of Standards
● Participating in regular one-to-one sessions for both service and professional development purposes, including regular supervision to assess the quality standard of advice work
● Working closely and collaboratively with other advisers, staff team members, interns, trainees, and volunteers as needed to address the holistic needs and circumstances of LAH service users
● Supporting the preparation for audits by the OISC and AQS, as well as for internal and external reports
● Collaborating with the Head of Operations to ensure the smooth running of the service and implement an efficient administrative strategy

As the Peer to Peer Groupwork Facilitator you will set up, lead and deliver a year-long peer to peer group programme for bereaved families who have experienced the sudden and unexpected death of a baby or young child.
The groupwork is based on a programme led by Harvard University and Boston’s Children’s hospital and has structured sessions drawing upon psychological model of CBT, although the sessions are not therapeutic. Each session has a theme and incorporates education, guidance and support.
You will establish and deliver a new peer online support group, facilitating group formation, and enhancing service delivery and creating a safe and welcoming space for bereaved families.
Outside the group sessions you will be responsible for managing the administration and evaluation of the service, including and collection of questionnaires and feedback required for reporting purposes and supporting members with any signposting requirements processing referrals, carrying out eligibility screening, monitoring the waiting list and inputting and keeping all database member and service records up to date.

JOB PURPOSE
The Children and Young People’s Mentor will work within the CYP team to deliver services relating to children and young people affected by Domestic violence and Abuse.
They will hold a caseload for direct 1-1 work with young people/ girls and deliver a programme of groups in schools to adolescent girls. Responsibilities will include recording of data, reporting and completing evaluations.
They will be expected to promote the work of the Rising Sun and take a share of responsibility in delivering or assisting with promotional work within the organisation.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Service delivery
- Work 1-1 with young people (aged 11 to 15 years) affected by Domestic violence and Abuse
- Build positive working relationships with local schools to deliver this programme
- Hold own caseload and respond in a way that understands the needs of the young people the Rising Sun supports
- Work in a mentoring capacity with children and adolescents with a specific focus on domestic abuse and its impact
- Recognise the impact of domestic abuse on young people and families; showing empathy and understanding in working with these families and developing the capacity to adopt a trauma informed approach to the work
- Support and facilitate groups in schools and in the community focusing on healthy relationships, spotting red flags etc
- Work flexibly with young people and meet with them in a variety of settings such as schools, colleges and community centres, depending on their needs
- Work creatively and flexibly to help support a vulnerable and at times challenging client group.

The Role

Job Purpose:
The Energy Programme Manager will provide strategic and technical leadership in the delivery and development of the SHA Energy programme in Malawi. They will be expected to oversee the implementation of SHA’s existing portfolio of Energy projects in Malawi, provide technical input to the team and sector in Malawi, continue to develop programme approaches based on evolving best practice and the changing landscape, and mobilise resources for continued growth of the programme.
The position will report to the Malawi Deputy Country Director- Programmes and there will be regular meetings between the Energy Programme Manager, other Programme Managers and Management Team in Malawi and technical advisors from SHA’s Global Office. The role will also involve capacity building of national staff in Malawi to take increased ownership of the programme and enable its continued growth. The Energy Programme Manager will leverage their technical and contextualised knowledge to provide expert advice and advocacy to Malawi’s energy sector (particularly in the areas of cleaner cooking, carbon finance and off-grid electrification) and maintain the programme’s close and productive relationships with its donors and stakeholders to expand the reach, sustainability and impact of our work.
Key Responsibilities:

- Ensure the programme portfolio is delivered in line with good practice and quality benchmarks in line with sector-based standard operating standards and GESI tools etc
- Ensure an adaptive management approach is taken
- Work with the Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Working Group through National MEAL Manager to ensure that we are documenting learning and integrating it into programme design and delivery.
- Ensure MEAL data collected is in line with national MEAL framework through participatory M&E approaches and integrating feedback from staff, partners and project participants.
- Liaise with relevant organisation technical advisors and incorporate learning and global expertise in the programme cycle
- Ensure value for money and efficiency across the programme cycle
- Conduct field visits to monitor project progress.
1.2 Compliance & Risk
- Oversee the development and timely submission of high-quality donor technical and financial reports, in collaboration with projects and operations colleagues
- Ensure that processes are in place to allow for systematic and inclusive feedback to communities and stakeholders on all programme reports and evaluations undertaken
- Working with Project Managers to ensure all projects develop annual, quarterly and monthly plans and that these are actioned and reported against

- Support the National Cookstove Steering Committee (NCSC) as a key member of the coordination group for which SHA is the secretariat. This includes leading the organisation of the annual Cleaner Cooking Conference and quarterly coordination group meetings.
- Maintain, strengthen and build networks and alliances at national level with government, academia, donors and local organisations
- Maintain, strengthen and build partnerships with companies and entrepreneurs to augment the programme’s reach and sustainability of impacts through market-based approaches.

Head of Programmes role
The Head of Programmes will oversee all elements of programme design, development and delivery at First Give. They will lead the Programmes Team, including line management of two Programme Managers, ensuring high quality delivery of all First Give programmes

Programme Delivery

This role will be to support the perpetrator intervention across Wiltshire.
You will be primarily based in Wiltshire supporting the Domestic Abuse Serial Perpetrator (DASP) project, providing bespoke specialist support to perpetrators of domestic abuse. The post holder will work as part of the IOM team within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy and support service to ensure that clients who show abusive behaviour are supported through every stage of the process of change. Evening appointments are necessary for this post in Salisbury and Chippenham.
In addition, you will support the delivery of the CPR (Choosing Positive Relationships) Domestic Violence Perpetrator Programme (DVPP), which is an intensive behaviour change programme, designed to increase knowledge and understanding around domestic abuse, the impact on children and healthy relationships. The course teaches tools and strategies to help someone change their behaviour. The CPR group will require weekly evening work in Wiltshire.
The post-holder will be expected to work to Respect standards.
Full training will be available for this role.
Client Based Duties
- Identify and assess the risks and needs of individuals who are abusive in a relationship or other domestic setting, using an evidence-based risk identification checklist.
- Develop personalised risk assessments and safety plans for each service user.
- Advocate for individuals who wish to address their abusive behaviour and show motivation for change with agencies who can help to address the domestic abuse by:
- Understanding the role of all relevant statutory and non-statutory services available to those who are abusive and how your role fits into them.
- Providing advocacy, emotional and practical support and information to individuals, including in relation to drug and alcohol, housing, health and finance.
- Working directly with all key agency partners to address the impact of the abusive behaviour on the safety of high risk victims and ensuring that their safety plans are coordinated.
- Support the client to recognise the abusive behaviour and the effect that it has on their families and assist them in recognising the features and dynamics of domestic abuse present in their situation and help them change unhealthy patterns of behaviour.
