Thank you for your interest in the role of Interim CEO for Kent Sexual Assault & Abuse Service (KSAAS). This is a 6-month fixed term post to cover maternity leave.

KSAAS (formerly East Kent Rape Crisis Centre) has offered sexual violence services in East Kent since 1993 and we offer ongoing practical support and therapeutic services for survivors who have experienced any form of sexual violence at any time in their lives of in Kent & Medway .  KSAAS holds UKAS accreditation through The Survivors Trust and is Professionally Approved By Rape Crisis England & Wales, demonstrating the consistent, high-quality services that we offer to our survivors.

KSAAS operates Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (ISVA) services and joint ISVA and Independent Domestic Violence Advisors (IDVA) services for those experiencing sexual violence alongside domestic abuse.  We also offer trauma focused therapeutic counselling services for children, adolescents and adults and these services are accessible through various hubs across Kent & Medway. Peer support groups and family advocacy services are available to support families when there has been an occurrence of sexual abuse experienced by one or more family members and our services are supported and informed by the ‘Kick Back’ group,  who are survivors of sexual violence who offer help, support and advice to other survivors and inform our service development.  We also have a range of volunteers who support us with various aspects of the service provision. 

In addition to providing support and therapeutic services, a key function of the organisation is to robustly challenge the societal values, beliefs and behaviour which contribute to sexual violence, through proactive projects that aim to raise awareness, delivery of information sessions in educational institutions, delivery of NOCN accredited Rape and Sexual Abuse training, ongoing activism, challenging attitudes we encounter as part of our work with survivors, focused campaigns and participation in research focused on sexual violence.

In the last year, we worked with > 6000 survivors in our face-to-face services and specialist sexual violence Helpline service and in April 2026 we extended our provision and scope and have been commissioned to be the main provider of ISVA and Therapeutic Support services across Kent & Medway, funded by the Police & Crime Commissioner.

We are looking for an inspiring, motivated and innovative woman who is driven by feminist values to be the figurehead of our organisation, providing empowering leadership to the team, strategic oversight of the organisation and to ensure an outstanding service for all survivors of sexual violence. Main Purpose of The Role

The CEO is the figurehead of KSAAS and has overall responsibility for the management and performance of the service and strategic development and growth of KSAAS in collaboration with the core team, key stakeholders, Board of Trustees and survivors.  The overarching duties and responsibilities of the CEO is responsible for the following:

• Strategic feminist leadership of the organisation & staff

• Management of human resources and physical estate

• Direct and manage fundraising & finances

• Act as the primary public representative locally, regionally and nationally.

• Advocate for survivors of sexual assault or abuse and challenge societal attitudes that perpetuate sexual violence

• Line management of management team

• Working collaboratively with the Board of Trustees

At KSAAS, the CEO is supported by the ISVA Service Lead, the Therapeutic Service Lead, the Operations Manager, the Finance Manager and Board of Trustees.

Job Title: Chief Executive Officer Responsible To: Board of Trustees

Main Responsibilities of Post:

Strategic Leadership

• Develop an in-depth understanding of the issues faced by women and girls who are subjected violence and the staff who support them within the service

• Develop an in-depth understanding of local, regional and national agendas regarding sexual violence against women and girls within the service

• Review the aims, vision and mission of the organisation in collaboration with our survivors, staff, board of trustees, business partners & umbrella organisations

• Work collaboratively with the board of trustees, business partners, staff and service users to develop evidence based strategic priorities for the service and a rigorous business plan that addresses key priorities

• Lead, motivate and encourage the KSAAS staff team to provide excellent services in support of the strategic plan

• Be the leading voice of KSAAS locally, regionally and nationally, ensuring that KSAAS and its mission, campaigns, and services are consistently presented in a strong, positive image for the benefit of survivors of sexual assault and abuse.

• Consult widely and draw on expertise within the organisation and externally to KSAAS for the visioning of evidence based and innovative sexual violence services for children, young people and adults across Kent & Medway

Finance and Funding

• Manage the KSAAS fundraising strategy in collaboration with the management team and board of trustees

• Oversee fundraisers to identify, diversify and secure fundraising opportunities to ensure the financial health of the organisation

• Sit on the finance committee to ensure effective financial management and reporting

• Manage relationships with key funders and ensure that all contractual obligations to funders are met

• Provide effective oversight and reporting of the finances and budgets to the board of trustees and funders and ensure the financial sustainability of theorganisation

Partnership and Communication

• Represent the voices of survivors of sexual violence at key strategic meetings

• Ensure effective communication of information from KSAAS to all key internal and external partners

• Develop and broker regional and local partnerships to ensure KSAAS pushes boundaries, maintains excellent working partnerships and ultimately improves services for victims of sexual violence and abuse in Kent

• Promote public awareness about sexual violence through social media and deliver talks and presentations and broadcasts as necessary.

• Keep up to date and informed about local, regional and national agendas, ensuring that KSAAS can respond to trends effectively as they emerge.

• Maintain a high quality collaborative working partnership with Rape Crisis England and Wales and work with other rape crisis centres as necessary.

• To be an effective public speaker with the ability to influence.

Management, Resources and Policy

• Empower staff within the organisation through proactive and inspiring line management processes, catering for diversity through a range of different approaches.

• Develop the leadership team within KSAAS and work collaboratively with them to meet the vision and mission of the service.

• Have overall responsibility for the fair recruitment, management and development of employees and volunteers and the effective management of external contractors and service providers.

• Be the key point of contact for our Human Resources Provider and ensure that all policies and procedures are up to date and appropriately communicated and implemented throughout KSAAS.

• Ensure effective monitoring and evaluation systems are in place that reflect best practice across all aspects of the organisation’s operation enabling review and development ofservices.

Legality and Governance

• Accountable for organisational compliance with general legal obligations, Charity Commission regulations,  membership obligations & safeguarding responsibilities.

• Responsible for keeping the Board of Trustees up to date with accurate information to enable them to fulfil their roles.

• Provision of appropriate and timely reports to the Board ofTrustees.

• Responsible for ensuring the health and safety of all staff, volunteers and service users within KSAAS.

• Engage with own line management, supervision, training, personal development & wellbeing, using opportunities provided by KSAAS to do so.

• To carry out any further work that is reasonably in line with thisposition.

To be eligible for this role, you need to evidence the following knowledge, skills and experience, at least in part:

• A successful track record of leadership within an organisation of comparable complexity or across a significant area of work, including strategic, financial and operational planning.

• Experience of successful financial management of a complex budget and oversight of income generation from a variety of sources.

• A track record of successfully managing and leading people who work across a range of sites and an understanding of the challenges faced by staff working with sexual violence survivors

• Ability to think innovatively, take measured risks and manage an organisation and staff through period of significant change

• Experience of developing & maintaining effective networks with local government, statutory and other voluntary organisations.

• Experience of successful partnership working, such as developing and maintaining relationships with a range of organisations and funders.

• Experience at senior level of successful financial management, including responsibility for significant complex budgets.

• Experience of working with a variety of media to successfully promote an organisation or issue.

• An understanding of the gendered nature of sexual violence and abuse, its causes and consequences and commitment to challenging injustice, violence and abuse, stereotyping, prejudice, discrimination and bias in a non-confrontational way, aligned to the values of the organisation.

• Experience of managing support services and a clear understanding of trauma and vicarious trauma and appropriate wellbeing strategies.

• Sound knowledge of the charitable sector and working collaboratively with a Board of Trustees

• An understanding of trauma informed care / service provision and the challenges associated with such services

About the role

Sitting within the Finance and Operations team and reporting to the Head of Finance & Operations, the Senior Finance Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the organisation’s financial integrity and health. An exciting mix of management accounting, business partnering, financial analysis and process improvement, this hands-on role oversees the full financial cycle of the Design Council — from managing day-to-day processes and payments to delivering accurate financial reporting, insightful analysis and supporting programme delivery and strategic decision-making.

Key responsibilities

The role includes the following responsibilities:

Providing high quality finance business partnering 

• Meeting with programme managers and other colleagues on a regular basis to track latest estimates of project budgets and resourcing

• Generating meaningful insights to support data-driven decision making

• Supporting colleagues with general finance queries including expense management and invoicing

Delivering process excellence through service partners 

• Managing the day-to-day delivery of external service partners for accounting and book-keeping processes, including weekly bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations and monthly journal management

• Managing monthly payroll processes including the external payroll provider, payroll journalling and pension management

 Procure to pay process 

• Liaising with third-party vendors for confirmation of banking details and/or any invoice queries/disputes

• Reviewing approved supplier invoices and manage supplier invoice postings

• Managing weekly payment runs, including payment journals and related controls

• Reviewing and posting employee expense claims including credit card transactions
• Posting client sales invoices

 HMRC processes 

• Ensuring accurate coding of VAT transactions including Domestic/EU/International classifications

• Quarterly processing of VAT Return, calculating irrecoverability in accordance with resource allocation rules to business and non-business activity

• Management of all payments, submissions and liabilities to HMRC on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis

• Ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations including liaising with external advisors where required

Financial reporting and analysis 

• Timely and accurate production of monthly management accounts

• Production of monthly financial forecast (P&L and cash flow)

• Regular analysis of margin and resource allocation, utilising data to generate actionable insights

• Provide first-level analysis across financial reporting (P&L, cashflow) to support Head of Finance & Operations provide clear information and narratives for Senior Management, board and committee reporting

• Work closely with Head of Finance & Operations on the annual budgeting process

Process & systems ownership and improvement 

• Process owner for the Microsoft Business Central system and connected applications

• Leading on the identification of opportunities to improve finance-related processes, systems and controls with a focus on achieving “right first time” outcomes and “one source of truth” for data

• Support Head of Finance & Operations with ensuring finance systems and connected applications keep pace with technological change and remain fit for purpose

Financial controls and compliance 

• Ensuring compliance with all financial controls set out in the organisation's Financial Framework, Financial Procedures and Schedule of Authority

• Ensuring robust and complete records are kept across all financial processes to ensure all regulatory obligations are met

• Ensuring audit process is fast, efficient and maintains the confidence of auditor, colleagues and the Board of Trustees

About you

The role requires a hands-on, flexible financial professional, used to working in a fast-paced dynamic environment and willing to learn and grow in the role.

You are confident managing the broad range of finance-related activities within a small charity and understand the power of data to support business decision-making and organisational outcomes.

You are tech-savvy, and confident working with systems and manipulating datasets to generate insights and drive action.

You understand the importance of maintaining robust financial controls as well as timely and accurate management information.

You are an experienced business partner with the ability to drive financial engagement across the organisation. You are also organised and confident delivering process improvement and service quality both individually and through external partners.

Skills & Experience 

• Qualified or part-qualified finance professional eg AAT/CIMA/ACCA/ACA/CIPFA.

• Experienced finance business partner, with proven track record of providing quality finance support and advice to colleagues, particularly non-finance colleagues.

• Excellent financial accounting and reporting knowledge including UK charity SORP, accounting for grants, charity VAT rules and unrestricted vs restricted funds.

• Confident user of accounting software packages and working digitally, preferably with working experience of Microsoft Business Central.

• Confident and effective at delivering quality outcomes through external service partners.

• Experience of improving and developing systems and processes.

• Experience of maintaining a robust financial control environment.

• Experience of working with auditors and other external advisors such as tax and legal.

• Broad understanding current audit, tax, treasury and other regulatory requirements.

• Confident user of MS Excel and preferably also PowerBI.

The Project Manager will drive optimal performance and operational synergies across Clore Leadership, managing the planning and delivery of an upgrade of operational technologies, processes and systems across the organisation. 

The Project Manager will scope and manage the systems upgrade mapping and implementation phases, working with staff and external providers to ensure a timely and effective project conclusion.

The Project Manager will demonstrate an informed understanding of current workplace technologies and experience of working on systems integration. They will communicate professionally and effectively; and provide excellent operational and project management skills to support the Clore Leadership vision, ambition and priorities.

Along with comprehensive working knowledge of Health & Safety, facilities operations and regulatory compliance, you will hold an IOSH qualification, or willingness to obtain it promptly.

We are seeking to appoint a UK Education Manager to join our small team which is based across our Bolton and London offices. This is a full-time, permanent post based in Bolton, working 37.5 hours a week (7.5 hours per day x 5 days per week).

JOB PURPOSE

The UK Education Manager provides operational leadership and supports strategic direction for BPNA’s UK education portfolio. The role is accountable for the short-course programme (about 36 courses per year), the annual conference, distance learning support, Instructor Training Day, new course development and faculty development. The post oversees budget responsibility for UK Education and Conference income, which together represent a substantial proportion of BPNA’s annual turnover.

This role is based at the Bolton office, where you will lead two of the BPNA Education team while working and liaising with the Education Content Co-Ordinator, based in the London office

The post-holder is an active member of the BPNA Secretariat Management Team, and serves as Secretary to the Education, Quality & Standards Committee and related steering groups. The role requires leadership, sound judgement and a hands-on, highly organised approach to complex programme delivery.

This role would suit an organised, efficient and practical person with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a good deal of common sense.  You will also have diplomatic skills and the ability to build good relationships.  You will need to be flexible, have an ability to problem-solve on-site and online, organise highly educated people whilst remaining calm and maintaining a sense of humour.

About the Role 

The role sits within the Communications, Engagement and Fundraising (CEF) directorate and reports to its director. The team serves the needs of the organisation by engaging a range of key audiences through various media channels, volunteer engagement, events and fundraising. The post holder will work in close collaboration with others across the organisation and will enjoy working in an innovative and creative environment.

You will line manage the Individual Giving Manager and Fundraising Stewardship Manager, supporting their professional development to help achieve annual fundraising targets and objectives.

You will be responsible for delivering fundraising appeals, products and campaigns, ensuring that supporters go on a meaningful and experiential journey with USPG and become lifelong supporters. You are, therefore, a confident, passionate, organised and creative senior manager with the proven ability to motivate and inspire your team and USPG supporters.

You will bring energy and passion to this role and have the responsibility for delivering on time fundraising activity across the organisation. Job Purpose

The Head of Community Support and Operations is a pivotal new role being introduced to the executive team at Barnsley CVS.  This person will be a key role in the growth and development of the executive team.  You will play an exciting part in the delivery and development of the recently developed 4-year strategy and theory of change. Your role will drive intention and focus on developing our support to the sector in a meaningful way to high standards, whilst ensuring our own internal operations reflect best practice.  You will need a strong knowledge of charity set up, management and governance along with a passion for what the VCSE sector does.  You will be confident in people management and development; have the ability to work inclusively with a wide range of people and backgrounds and the skill to see gaps and opportunities for service development.

You will work closely with the Head of Strategic Partnerships to identify gaps and opportunities to develop our offer of support to the sector whether through direct services, training, brokerage agreements or membership offers.  As you identify these opportunities, you will work collaboratively with the Head of Business Development to explore commercial income options that are also in line with our mission and vision.

Using your excellent people skills, you will act as the first point of contact for HR matters within the charity, overseeing the general management of our online HR system, policies and procedures.  You will work in collaboration with the CEO in any areas that need significant development or management.
