The Vacancy

The Independent Monitoring Service is seeking to recruit professionals with experience of working with children and vulnerable adults to the role of Independent Visitor.

We are looking for individuals all across Greater Manchester areas, including but not limitted to: Oldham, Rochdale, Tameside, Central Manchester, Bolton.

The role of Independent Visitors is to provide visiting services on behalf of NYAS which are consistent with the National Quality Standards for Children’s Homes, Residential Special School Standards, Welsh National Minimum Standards, Health and Social Care Standards Scotland and CQC regulations. The main duties are:

• To undertake monthly visits to identified homes in accordance with the requirements of the relevant NYAS manager.

These visits will be:

Regulation 44 visits to residential children’s homes, short breaks and secure units.

Regulation 25 visits to residential family centres.

Care Quality Commission visits to residential adult homes.

Care Inspectorate Wales regulation 8 visits to residential children’s homes.

RSS20 visits to residential special schools.

Health and social care standards Scotland residential children’s homes.

Monitoring visits to unregulated provision.

• To undertake all tasks as identified by the relevant NYAS manager, during the visits and thereafter, in order to fulfil all aspects of the role.
• To provide factual reports within set timescales as required by the relevant NYAS manager.

Candidates should have demonstrable knowledge and understanding of regulated services and their inspection frameworks and also knowledge of current legislation and statutory guidance relating to children, young people and adults at risk particularly those in residential care.

Candidates must have experience of working within a social or health care organisation, safeguarding and experience of managing complex relationships across a diverse field, e.g. OFSTED inspectors, social workers, residential care workers and registered managers, health care professionals.

Candidates should also possess a professional qualification in a related field, i.e. social work, residential care, health care professional, advocacy or youth work.

This is a self-employed position and you will be paid a sessional rate.

You will also be required to complete annual safeguarding and compliance including, Personal Safety, Data Protection, Information Security, Safeguarding and Equality and Diversity. You will be able to subscribe to an e-learning platform provided by NYAS. The platform will provide you with the opportunity to undertake a number of other professional courses that you can complete in your own time to maintain your own CPD. You can do this on the e-learning platform at a significantly reduced cost compared to undertaking each course individually with different providers.

About the role

We're looking for an Activities Coordinator to join our Independent Approved Premises (IAP) based in Havering. This is an exciting opportunity to join a new service which works with offenders as they are released from prison. It is a community based setting, rather than custodial where residents can go out in the community, depending on their Licence restrictions. 

You will play a major part in reintegrating our residents back into the community by coordinating and delivering high quality activities and programmes which work to support individual needs, working in collaboration with the wider team. Some activities may vary but could include days out and visits, awareness days/weeks/months campaigns, cultural celebrations and other meaningful activities to encourage reintegration, and enhance social skills and community engagement. 

About you

We are looking for someone who has a passion to support vulnerable people in making a change, supporting their rehabilitation and providing opportunities for them to make positive change to their lives, to reintegrate into society. You will have a general understanding of the criminal justice system, and/or have experience supporting people with multiple/complex needs. You will be able to plan and deliver a range of activities suited to individual needs and will be confident in understanding the needs of our residents to do this. We look for:

• Experience in coordinating and/or delivering activities and programmes with people from various backgrounds
• Ability to provide advice, support and guidance to a team and residents on various areas
• Ability to work creatively and encourage creativity in others
• Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and oral. Ability to form and build effective relationships and rapport with others

Main purpose of post
This role will oversee key functions of the day-to-day running of the charity to
ensure we can effectively support people affected by cancer across South
Yorkshire, Bassetlaw and North Derbyshire.
You will be responsible for key operational functions including: our workspaces
and facilities, which includes buildings and our outreach services on the big
purple buses; Health & Safety and risk management, Operational policies, IT
systems, GDPR compliance and contingency planning. You will manage our
third-party provider relationships and also lead improvement projects in the
charity to make sure we are always learning, improving and making the best use
of the generosity of our donors.
You will provide a pivotal role, ensuring our teams have what they need to work
safely, effectively and efficiently. You will be the on-site go-to person to solve daily
operational issues as they present, acting as a calm and resilient manager
providing clear direction and guidance.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Support
 Lead on production of an annual operations improvement plan,
collaborating with teams across the charity to ensure their operational
support needs are listened to and met.
 Manage and develop operational systems to support the effective
delivery of Weston Park Cancer Charity as the organisation grows;
conduct regular reviews of internal operational processes, including
reviewing contracts and monitoring systems.
 Support the Head of Governance and Operations in effective
management of supplier contracts including building leases, IT support
provider, third party suppliers, cleaning. Ensuring legal, regulatory, and
contractual compliance for each contract whilst achieving value for
money.
 Provide operational management of our working spaces, including our
buildings, facilities and also our big purples buses within the community, ensuring the public, colleagues, volunteers and visitors are safe and
experience a warm and welcoming environment.
 Lead on the coordination of charity vehicles maintenance and insurance,
working with the Head of Cancer Services, Transport Coordinator and
Service Development and Engagement Manager for the Outreach Team.
 Review, Develop and Produce operational policies and procedures to
ensure the smooth running of the organisation (e.g. Lone Working).
 Act as a Charity Data Protection Officer (DPO) and lead on data collection
and storage in line with current GDPR and Data Protection Regulations.
 Lead with producing monthly and quarterly Operations Reports, and
producing any further reports requires for assurance purposes for the
Leadership Team and the Board of Trustees.
Health & Safety
 Lead on Health & Safety and risk management, and the annual H&S audit
with the support of our external advisor, ensuring risk assessments are
undertaken and the charity fulfils its legal duties in relation to our
buildings, services, fundraising activity and home-based working.
 Ensure all staff and volunteers are trained on H&S and there is
appropriate coverage of Fire Marshalls, First Aiders, MHFA etc. on site, in
outreach services and for our charity events, as appropriate.
 Lead on our contingency planning and maintaining our business
continuity plan.
Tech Support
 Lead on cyber security training and improvements.
 Lead on IT equipment and access for staff, including the onboarding and
off boarding process and management of access to shared folders and
platforms.
Workwear and equipment
 Manage stock control and ordering of office and facilities supplies.
Support & Development
 Manage the Operations Assistant and support their development.
 Lead the Operational Working Group to ensure operational matters are
progressed in a timely and efficient manager, reporting progress to the
Leadership Team.
 Lead with the co-ordination of the annual renewals training for H&S, Fire
Marshalls and MHFA, support HR with the induction training of new staff.
 Undertake operational improvement projects as directed by the Head of
Governance and Operations
 Attend and contribute to team meetings and 'away days' and be an
active, invested member of our team.

Ability and willingness to travel throughout the region to attend charity
fundraising events and outreach services.
 Able to work flexibly, including working in the evenings and at
weekends.

Outline of the role

The IT Manager at IAPB will be responsible for overseeing our IT systems, infrastructure and digital services, ensure they are reliable, secure and aligned with IAPB needs. This role will provide leadership on IT strategy, manage day to day operations, be the key liaison with our outsourced IT provider and support staff to use technology effectively to deliver our mission. We have staff located both in the UK and globally, so working effectively with and understanding the needs of our diverse workforce is key.

Scope and accountability

Reporting to Head of Finance, the post holders role will include:

1. IT strategy and planning

• Conduct a full review of all IT systems and processes
• Develop and deliver the IT strategy in line with organisational goals
• Advise SMT on technology opportunities, risks and best practice
• Ensure systems are scalable, cost-effective and future-ready

2. Systems and infrastructure

• Ensure compliance with GDPR, cyber security and other relevant regulations
• Work with external IT providers to ensure cloud services, networks, servers and business applications are managed and maintained
• Manage data security and backups
• Manage disaster recovery and business continuity planning
• Manage software licensing
• Work with the team leading IAPB’s Website

3. User support and training

• Promote effective use of collaboration and productivity tools across the organisation
• Develop user guides, training and resources to build digital confidence across the organisation
• Work with external IT provider to ensure technical support is provided in a timely manner (in accordance with SLAs)
• Work with external IT provider to set up IT access and provide on-boarding support for new staff in the UK and overseas

4. Project and change management

• Lead IT related projects such as systems upgrades, SharePoint migrations or new software implementation
•  Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards
• Support digital transformation initiatives that improve service delivery and efficiency

5. Management and leadership

• Manage the relationship with external IT provider
• Manage the IT budget
• Manage the cost-effective procurement and decommissioning of IT equipment for all staff globally
• Manage the IT asset register
• Contribute to wider organisational planning

General 

•  The role requires working and communicating at both strategic and operational level – so getting involved in detail as and when required. The post holder will therefore need to comfortable and skilled in working in both ways.
• The post holder will be an enabler for other members of IAPB, supporting, upskilling, and coaching them across the breadth of IT.

Operations Assistant (Full Time – Office Based)  

Job Purpose:
The Operations Assistant provides support to the HR and Operations Manager by taking day to day responsibility, under guidance, for various facilities, safety and administrative processes, including HR administration, as well as responsiblity for locking/unlocking of meeting rooms, routine health and safety tasks and other matters that contribute to making the office a pleasant and functional environment in which to work. 

The duties will also include giving regular support to the Fulfilment Manager and under their guidance, process orders and support with despatch and deliveries, in addition to providing holiday cover, when the Fulfilment Manager is away.

Many aspects of this role require Manual Handling.

Brain Tumour Research is an exciting, innovative, and ambitious charity. We are passionate about finding a cure for brain tumours through the establishment of dedicated Brain Tumour Research Centres of Excellence around the UK.

Main duties:  

• Update internal HR databases, such as PeopleHR and employee files 

• Managing the WorkforUs mailbox 

• Recording and running reports from the database on sickness, leave, maternity etc 

• Assist in the preparation of HR standard template documents 

• Administering the onboarding and offboarding requirements for the organisation 

• To maintain the ATS when recruitment is live, and to support with the day-to-day recruitment activity, including but not limited to liaising with candidates, setting up interviews and preparing interview packs 

• Assisting with managing and maintaining database information for employee benefit schemes 

• Maintain and Update employee notice boards for HR and H&S 

• Opening, logging and distributing inbound post

As Senior Direct Marketing Officer, you will operate with a level of autonomy, build excellent stakeholder relationships and deliver outstanding fundraising campaigns. A focus on results will be vital but how these are achieved will also form a large part of the role; considering the non-financial measures of quality in addition to more traditional measures of success.

Working with a number of teams and suppliers, you’ll be delivering direct marketing activity through a range of channels and media. The programme is an evolving one with change and growth happening in a lot of interesting areas. Your role will be to help to develop the supporter engagement programme; taking responsibility for long-term projects that will improve the future optimisation of campaigns. You’ll also be responsible for delivering exceptional fundraising campaigns to achieve ambitious income targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Campaign Management

· Plan, manage and deliver successful campaigns across a range of channels and media.

· Manage projects that will improve the long-term success of campaigns.

· Deliver motivational fundraiser training and develop engaging fundraiser materials with agency stakeholders to ensure high-quality fundraising.

People management

· Management and development of the Direct Marketing Executive - Engagement.

Planning and budgeting

· Input to annual planning and development of individual giving campaigns.

· Support in the compilation of detailed income and expenditure campaign budgets.

· Input to monthly forecasting and regular reporting across a range of financial and non-financial KPIs.

Finance and reporting

· Ensure daily campaign tracking and reporting.

· Ongoing reporting on long-term success measures, such as retention, repeat giving and ROI.

· Invoice reconciliation and processing for timely payment.

· Non-financial KPI trend reporting, such as online conversions, email engagement, opt-out/in rates and quality scoring.

You will be working within the Curriculum Team which sits within the Chief Social Worker directorate. The team oversees the design and development of Frontline’s programmes, including the Approach Social Work three-year master’s programme and our in-house practice education training known as the Consultant Social Worker (CSW) programme. 

The Curriculum Team is responsible for delivering teaching and learning to participants, designing and delivering assessment, marking, moderation and ensuring that robust quality assurance processes are in place. The Curriculum Team works very closely with a variety of teams including, but not limited to Delivery, Programme Management, Academic Registry, Partnerships and university partners.

The Principal Curriculum Lead for Practice Education and Social Worker Development will be responsible for Practice Education and social worker development, providing strategic leadership and academic direction for the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of the Practice Education CSW Programme and other training for students and qualified social workers. 

Some key responsibilities include:

• Provide vision and leadership for our Practice Education provision, ensuring programmes reflect professional standards, innovation, and best practice.
• Lead curriculum design and enhancement to maintain academic rigor, coherence, and alignment with PEPS 1 and 2 and Social Work England requirements.
• Lead and teach across the CSW practice education programme and Master’s Dissertation module, embedding innovative and research-informed pedagogy and contribute to teaching and assessment across other programmes.
• Maintain current knowledge of social work education, pedagogy, and practice through research and scholarship.

County Lines is a phenomenon in which criminal drug dealing operations are expanding their operations outside of the larger cities, taking over drug markets in smaller towns. Gangs target vulnerable children and young people and coerce them to transport and distribute mainly Class A drugs into areas where there is less police presence, less competition and high demand for their product.

About this exciting opportunity

This pivotal role will see you referring clients, with reference to St Giles Trust/Rescue and Response assessment practices. You will also need to produce support plans and risk management and planning process, and to include appropriate agencies in the delivery of the service.

You will also deliver a holistic support service, working independently or with colleagues, which will include providing social and housing support, education, training and employment options, benefits work, debt advice, and appearing in court. Bydd y swydd hon yn gofyn am fetio er mwyn gallu gweithio mewn gorsaf heddlu – NPPV2 Lefel Llawn.

A ydych chi'n unigolyn llawn egni, uchelgeisiol, rhagweithiol a thosturiol ac am wneud gwahaniaeth sylweddol i fywydau plant a phobl ifanc sy'n agored i niwed? A ydych wedi cael profiad personol o'r System Cyfiawnder Troseddol neu hanes profedig o ymgysylltu'n gadarnhaol â throseddwyr ifanc neu grwpiau eraill sy'n agored i niwed?

Os felly, mae St Giles yn chwilio am Weithiwr Achos i ymuno â'u tîm Llinellau Cyffuriau, lle byddwch yn chwarae rhan ganolog yn ein prosiect arloesol.

Ynghylch Ymddiriedolaeth St Giles

Elusen uchelgeisiol, wedi’i hen sefydlu sy’n helpu pobl sy’n wynebu helbulon i ddod o hyd i swyddi, cartrefi a’r gefnogaeth gywir y mae ei hangen arnynt yw Ymddiriedolaeth St Giles. Yn ganolog i’n hethos yw ein cred bod pobl sydd â phrofiad uniongyrchol o oresgyn problemau, megis cefndir troseddol, digartrefedd, dibyniaeth ar gyffuriau ac alcohol a bod yn aelod o gang, yn allweddol i sicrhau newid positif mewn eraill.

Mae'r term Llinellau Cyffuriau yn cyfeirio at y ffenomenon o werthwyr cyffuriau troseddol yn ehangu eu gweithrediadau y tu allan i'r dinasoedd mwy, gan gymryd drosodd marchnadoedd cyffuriau mewn trefi llai. Mae gangiau'n targedu plant a phobl ifanc sy'n agored i niwed ac yn eu gorfodi i gludo a dosbarthu cyffuriau Dosbarth A yn bennaf i ardaloedd lle mae llai o bresenoldeb gan yr heddlu, llai o gystadleuaeth a galw mawr am eu cynnyrch.

Ynghylch y cyfle cyffrous hwn

Fel rhan o'r rôl ganolog hon byddwch yn cyfeirio cleientiaid, gan gymryd i ystyriaeth arferion asesu Achub ac Ymateb Ymddiriedolaeth St Giles. Bydd angen i chi hefyd gynhyrchu cynlluniau cymorth a phroses rheoli a chynllunio risg, a chynnwys asiantaethau priodol wrth ddarparu'r gwasanaeth.

Byddwch hefyd yn darparu gwasanaeth cymorth cyfannol, yn gweithio'n annibynnol neu gyda chydweithwyr, a fydd yn cynnwys darparu cymorth cymdeithasol a thai, opsiynau addysg, hyfforddiant a chyflogaeth, gwaith budd-daliadau, cyngor ar ddyledion, ac ymddangos yn y llys. Mae datblygu a chynnal perthynas gref ag asiantaethau rhanbarthol gan gynnwys yr heddlu a'r gwasanaethau cymdeithasol yn agwedd allweddol ar y rôl.

Yr hyn rydym yn chwilio amdano:

• Profiad personol o'r system cyfiawnder troseddol, profiad personol o'r materion sy'n wynebu'r grŵp cleientiaid hwn a/neu brofiad o weithio gyda phlant, pobl ifanc a/neu deuluoedd 'risg uchel' sy'n agored i niwed.
• Profiad o ymgysylltu'n llwyddiannus â phobl ifanc 'heriol'
• Profiad sylweddol o ddarparu cymorth, cyngor ac eiriolaeth a chyfathrebu'n effeithiol, anghenion cleientiaid i weithwyr proffesiynol eraill
• Sgiliau TG cryf, yn enwedig MS Office, a'r gallu i weithio gyda chronfa ddata achosion
• Y gallu i ddefnyddio a datblygu systemau monitro i gofnodi pob agwedd ar y prosiect
• Gwybodaeth am ac ymrwymiad i ddiogelu arferion a pholisïau, a'r gallu i hyrwyddo diogelu ymhlith cleientiaid a chydweithwyr sy'n agored i niwed.

Yn gyfnewid am hyn, gallwch ddisgwyl cyflog cystadleuol, lwfans gwyliau hael, pensiwn staff, gweithio hyblyg, rhaglen fentora, gwasanaeth cyngor a chwnsela, mynediad i oruchwyliaeth glinigol, benthyciad tocyn teithio tymor a llawer mwy.

Byddwch yn ymwybodol y bydd gofyn i ymgeiswyr llwyddiannus gwblhau cymhwyster Lefel 3 mewn Cyngor ac Arweiniad fel rhan o'u cyfnod prawf ar gyfer y rôl hon oni bai bod ganddynt gymwysterau cyfatebol eisoes

Rydym yn gyflogwr ecwiti a chynhwysol. Rydym yn croesawu pob cais, ac yn arbennig yn annog ceisiadau gan bobl o'r mwyafrif byd-eang (du, brown, aml-dreftadaeth) a'r rhai sy'n uniaethu fel anabl, niwro-eang, neu niwro-amrywiol, gydag unrhyw nodweddion gwarchodedig a/neu rwystrau neu heriau cymdeithasol. Rydym yn gwerthfawrogi'r effaith rymusol ac addysgiadol y gall pob profiad ymarferol ac amrywiaeth meddwl ei gynnig i'r sefydliad.
