About the Role:

HR Advisor - Job Description
Advisory
- Provide advice to line managers on employee relations (ER) issues e.g. policies, performance management, end-to-end absence management including return to work meetings, reporting and occupational health referrals etc. Able to resolve complex employee relation issues and conduct investigations where necessary.
- Provide advice to managers across all policy and practice areas, for example on family friendly policies such as maternity, paternity, shared parental leave, carers leave, etc.
- Support the maintenance of existing policy documentation and make changes where applicable
- Proactively take responsibility for the adherence and implementation of HR policies
- Support line managers in the management of employees in probation, and where necessary extension cases
- Support line managers in performance management practices, objective setting and performance improvement plans (PIPs)
HR Analytics
- Report on HR analytics monthly and quarterly for the HR Manager, for example on headcount, sickness, recruitment analytics, staff turnover and remuneration reports.

Talent Acquisition and onboarding
- Work with the HR team for efficient and accurate end-to-end recruitment in all areas across the Diocese.
- Work in liaison with the HR Administrator to coordinate and execute the Diocese recruitment processes to include working with recruitment agencies, posting job adverts, liaising with line managers for shortlisting, offers of employment to suitable candidates, and onboarding.
- Ensuring the new joiner inductions are organised and all documentation has been received and checked.
- In the absence of HR Administrator, produce and issue relevant documentation following promotions, job title changes, salary increases and ensure that HR records are updated accordingly by the HR administrator.
Learning & Development
- Identify learning needs and appropriate methods of meeting needs in the most cost-effective way.
- Support the HR Manager in the delivery of training as required, including annual conferences and line manager training.
- Ensures training requirements are met to fulfil and maintain health and safety requirements such as First Aid and Fire Safety.
- Ensures that refresher training is completed for existing employees in data protection, cyber security, health and safety, and EDI.
- Be a trusted advisor and coach to line managers on people related issues.
- Ensure all documentation is completed by employees who are supported in their further training and education by the Diocese, including a Further Education Support Agreement.
General
- Regular review of data integrity and updates to the HRIS including regular audits.

We are a charity set up by migrants and for migrants, and every day our multilingual team of legal advisers stand up for their employment rights and secure their immigration status.
This is an ideal opportunity for a candidate with a strong sense of justice, who is looking to build a career in a legal profession. This role will suit someone who values impact, and the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable migrant workers and disadvantaged Britons.
You will be able to learn from three experienced solicitors, exercise your skills as an adviser, and progress your career in a friendly and supportive environment. The LEF Fellowship Programme will cover the cost of your mandatory legal training and exams. By the end of two years you will have had the chance to complete your SQE training and gain the required practical experience to fully qualify as a solicitor.
The role
As the Trainee Solicitor, you’ll work on a stimulating range of issues across two wide areas of law - Immigration (in Year 1) and Employment (in Year 2). You will learn how best to support vulnerable clients with limited English language and digital skills, how to spot signs of modern slavery or manage safeguarding concerns.
Working with our immigration team, you will help clients understand and secure their immigration status in the UK. You will support clients who have limited leave to remain (e.g. on employer-sponsored visas, Ukraine Visa Schemes, or pre-settled EUSS status) or who are entirely undocumented. Working with our employment team, you will work on cases involving non-payment of wages, non-provision of work, unlawful deductions, race and gender discrimination, or unfair dismissals. Crucially, you will have the opportunity to understand the real-life intersection of the two areas of law, as they are often experienced by the same clients.
This is a brilliant opportunity to gain well-rounded experience across all stages of the legal process, including interviewing clients, collecting information and assessing evidence, taking down witness statements, providing over the phone and written advice, and collating evidence bundles.
Alongside your legal work and SQE2 study, you will complete an independent social justice project aligned with your personal interests and objectives of the charity. This might entail legal research, sourcing strategic cases, or compiling data on the impact of the current policies. Working on this project will give you an opportunity to conduct strategic legal work contributing to systemic change.

About the role
We’re looking for a resourceful, experienced public affairs manager to join our dedicated team working to bringjustice, meaningful recognition and lasting health improvements to a community that has suffered as a result of the biggest treatment scandal in NHS history.
This is a rare opportunity to work for an organisation with a high profile within the political and health policy landscape with a 50-year track record of effective advocacy for our small community of people living with genetic and acquired bleeding disorders and their families. Most importantly, this role has the potential to directly improve peoples’ lives.
Around two thirds of our members are impacted by the contaminated blood scandal of the 1970s and 80s, which was recently investigated by the Infected Blood Inquiry. The resulting report in 2024 recommended improved health resources for people with bleeding disorders as well as compensation and support for those infected and affected by the scandal.
Although significant progress has been made, there’s a lot more to do. Maintaining political pressure and keeping this issue in the public eye are essential to ensure our members receive the support and recognition they deserve. As public affairs manager you will bring energy, contacts, knowledge and ideas to strengthen and broaden engagement with MPs, peers and decision-makers.
In addition to our infected blood work, you will support other projects, including challenging gender inequality in accessing treatment and care and ensuring that people living with rare bleeding disorders have access to the latest cutting edge technologies.
Background and purpose
We are the only UK-wide charity for all those affected by a genetic bleeding disorder, a community of individuals and families, healthcare professionals and supporters.
For more than 75 years we have campaigned for better treatment, been a source of information and advice and supported people living with life-long conditions.
We want to ensure that everyone affected by a bleeding disorder:

We do this by:
Improving understanding about living with a bleeding disorder
Providing support at all life stages
Influencing and advocating on policy and access to treatment.
More than 40,000 men, women and children in the UK have a diagnosed bleeding disorder, and the number rises every year. Membership of the Haemophilia Society is free and open to all.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop our public affairs strategy to forward the policy goals of THS
- Translate the governmenthealth strategy and communicate its impact on the bleeding disorders community.
- Support the APPG on Haemophilia and Contaminated Blood, acting in capacity as THS secretariat to the group
- Develop and maintain relationships with MPs, peers and other health policy stakeholders. Recognising and creating opportunities to promote the work and strategies of THS and raise issues in the houses

About Waves
Demos is leading the largest trial of digital democracy in Britain.
Trust in politics and politicians is in crisis. Only 24% of people trust politicians to make decisions in the best interests of the country. Polarisation is increasing. At the same time, people want to be involved in the public policy decisions that affect them.
Waves is a €1 million project trialling new technology in local democracy, launched to bring people together to tackle contentious local issues and strengthen trust in local government. Thousands of local people will have the opportunity to shape local government policy on an issue affecting their area.
New AI-powered technology is intended to make it easier, cheaper and quicker for participants to have their say, identify areas of consensus, discuss difficult issues and work through trade-offs together.
We are working in partnership with two trailblazing councils who are both embracing the opportunity to put the public at the heart of their policy making. The trial will begin in the London Borough of Camden to co-develop an approach to adult social care. The trial will then move on to South Staffordshire District Council as they develop an inclusive engagement process to prepare for their next local plan. The partners will also support a further 25 councils to observe and learn from the process so that they too can use the tools in the future.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced programme manager who can steer Waves from now until it completes in December 2026.
You would be joining the programme at a pivotal time as we move from the ‘set-up’ and ‘co-design’ phases of the first 6-months, to the start of the first of our two trials running sequentially over the next 11 months, before moving to a final ‘impact phase’ of dissemination of our toolkits, technology and learning in the final 6 months.
Programme management of Waves means ensuring that the whole project stays on track – on time and on budget – throughout its delivery. There are 5 partners, a number of suppliers and many moving parts, so it is critical that we find someone who can work across the whole programme, anticipating who needs to do what and by when, and ensuring that the programme is delivered successfully so we can draw learnings from it to share widely across the local government, democracy, and tech sectors.
It is worth bearing in mind that Waves is a ‘test and learn’ trial of a new deliberative democratic process using existing and new technology. Therefore, the team is committed to learning from the project and being comfortable with the uncertainty of not knowing exactly what the outcomes are going to be.

ABOUT THE ROLE OF DIRECTOR
CDMT is the industry body for world-class professional schools, conservatoires and awarding organisations in the performing arts, and we are a strong advocate on behalf of the sector.
The Director of the CDMT plays a strategic role in performing arts training, education and assessment nationally and manages the staff and resources of an organisation of UK-wide standing. The CDMT is financed primarily by membership subscriptions. As this source of income is restricted, the successful applicant will need to demonstrate a strategic business sense and a successful income-driven record that will enable the CDMT to create, diversify and take full advantage of developing opportunities.
The Director must be able to liaise effectively with all sectors of the dance, drama, music and musical theatre education communities. They will have wide knowledge and experience of arts education at all stages of development from entry level, through Further/Higher Education to post-graduate level, and will also require an understanding of qualification frameworks in the UK. Knowledge and experience of inspection and self-assessment mechanisms similar to those operated by the Office for Students, Ofsted and Ofqual, is desirable.
The role includes advocacy on behalf of the sector and requires an ability to offer support and advice to professional schools, conservatoires and awarding organisations as well as informing the thinking of regulators, civil servants and parliamentarians. This demands a high level of tact, diplomacy, professional understanding and tenacity as well as intellectual rigour and integrity.

The post of Director of the CDMT requires a talented, ambitious and self-driven professional able to offer and energetically deliver an exciting vision for the company’s future, and manage the journey required to successfully achieve it.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST DEMONSTRATE
- Experience of management at a senior level in the education and/or arts sectors, with an awareness of national assessment and inspection frameworks
- Staff management skills and a motivating and inclusive style
- Ability to identify opportunities, take initiative, and command the respect of peers and associates, demonstrating honesty and integrity in all dealings
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal abilities, and strategic thinking and planning
- Knowledge and experience of financial procedures and regulatory compliance and responsibilities
- Proficiency in influencing, negotiating, and finding common ground and agreement
- Resilience, self-motivation, clear vision and the ability to defend and promote CDMT’s mission

- Education to a minimum of Degree level

SUMMARY OF DIRECTOR’S ACTIVITIES
- Set CDMT strategy, vision and direction with Board support
- Establish corporate values, rewards quality and success in a culture of equal opportunity
- Create business plans, allocates capital in support of aims, produces budgets and monitors finances
- Cultivate key relationships, influences decision-makers, develops suitable partnerships and networks
- Strengthen CDMT’s reputation through representations to government, industry bodies and media
- Lead, inspire and build teams of highly qualified staff, consultants with effective use of resources
- Chair meetings and ensures success of operational policies, membership committees and inspections
- Utilise sector intelligence to reinforce the company’s standing through targeted initiatives
- Oversee reports to the Charity Commission, Companies House, HMRC, Pensions Regulator etc (acting as Company Secretary)
- Manage risk assessments and mitigating actions, seek legal and professional advice where necessary.
