Job description

We are looking for someone to provide key administrative support for our local and community energy projects. The post holder will help to build relationships and ensure robust administration, focussing primarily on our grant schemes and capacity building work with community organisations.

Pay and conditions

• The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week).
• The salary for the role will be £25,600 - £29,147.
• You will be entitled to 25 days paid holiday (plus statutory holidays).

We will pay fees and expenses on relevant training courses.

Specific responsibilities

An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:

• To play a key role in co-ordinating our grant giving for community organisations, including having direct communications with grantees, tracking payments, monitoring delivery, and maintaining records.
• To liaise with a range of stakeholders, potentially including community groups, local authorities, town and parish councils, and neighbourhood planning groups.
• To support the planning, promotion and delivery of training sessions, workshops and events.
• To represent CSE on a range of projects, in external in-person and online meetings and events.
• To support promotion of CSE projects, activities, reports and publications to ensure effective engagement with the target audience.

Essential attributes for this role include:

• 5 GCSEs at grade A-C or equivalent, including English (or 4 or above).

Change Grow Live is a national charity dedicated to helping people overcome challenges and build better lives. We’re seeking a Regional Volunteering Manager – London and the South to help grow and strengthen volunteering and student placements across our diverse services.

This role is perfect if you’re motivated to make a positive difference by supporting people and enabling services to embed volunteering at the heart of their work. You’ll provide expert advice, foster collaboration and learning, and shape how volunteering is developed and delivered across a wide range of communities and services. These services will involve a range of support to community offenders and prison leavers including families, emotional wellbeing, lifestyle and associates and social inclusion (including meet at the gates).

About this exciting opportunity

Working as part of a multi-agency team, you will provide person-centred support to a caseload of service users who will either be serving community sentences or being released from prison.  You will undertake assessment and action planning with individual service users, create a safe and trusting environment, using trauma-informed practice to successfully facilitate a supportive and constructive relationship with service users, plus deliver a range of interventions to service users which contribute towards achievement of prescribed outcomes.

We will also count on you to develop and maintain positive working relationships with external agencies, including probation, prisons, partners, and others who will assist in achieving prescribed outcomes for service users, ensuring you work towards contractual targets and outcomes within agreed timescales.  Using agreed CRM databases and recording all activity relating to caseload and providing updates and reports are also key duties.

What we are looking for

• Experience working with partner agencies either as part of a multi-agency team working towards common objectives or negotiating to establish links to further the aims of a project
• L3 in Advice and Guidance or equivalent (desirable)
• The ability to assess clients’ needs and provide tailored, client-led support through action planning and interventions involving advice, guidance, advocacy, and coaching
• An ability to work sensitively with clients applying trauma-informed strategies
• Impressive IT, relationship-building and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Fine Cell Work is a UK- based rehabilitation charity and social enterprise which makes beautiful handmade products in British prisons. For over 25 years we’ve been transforming the lives of people in prison and prison leavers, one stitch at a time. Our unique process boosts our stitcher’s self-worth, instils accountability, and fosters hope.

Collaborating with world-renowned designers to create one-of-a-kind, limited-edition products, we support people in prison and prison leavers to finish their sentences with work skills, money earned and saved, and the self-belief to rebuild meaningful, independent, crime-free lives. By providing purposeful activity to prepare prisoners to successfully reintegrate into the community, we are working to improve prisoner’s skills and well-being. This is key to reducing recidivism. 

The Role: 

The Fundraising & Events Officer will provide administrative assistance with grants and donor fundraising and the logistics for events. Working alongside the Development Manager and the Founding Director you will support identifying and managing donor opportunities, and the research and support of applications to Trusts and Foundations. It is a diverse and varied role and is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to build a solid foundation in fundraising and events. 

This is a results-driven role with the postholder driving planned income growth by establishing, enabling, and inspiring events, building relationships and maximising fundraising efforts. As this is a people facing role, you will be working with supporters over the phone, online, in writing and face to face, with the aim of helping donors receive the ultimate supporter journey. 

You will require excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to network, build relationships and influence both internally and externally, with the confidence to speak publicly about the work of the charity. To be successful in this role, you should possess exceptional organisational skills, excellent communication abilities – including good writing skills, and a passion for making a difference. In addition, experience with fundraising, donor stewardship, event planning and organisation and CRM systems will be highly valued. 

Your work will be essential in generating the income needed to support our initiatives, grow our donor base, and provide vital services to support our mission of rehabilitation.

Fine Cell Work’s office in Battersea is run by a team of 15 staff (FTE) supported by 191 volunteers, 116 of whom teach in prisons (volunteer figures for 2024). 

Fundraising and earned income are fundamental requirements for FCW, and all staff are involved in fundraising and earned revenue activities. 

Principal Accountabilities for the Core Job: 

1. Ensure all the necessary administration to support fundraising including recording all donations and potential contact information on Salesforce, thanking and reporting to all event attendees and donors. 
2. Assistance in the planning, setting up and logistics of all events including attending events as required (includes occasional out of office and out of hours commitments). 
3. Establish and maintain donor contacts on the database, and, with the Development Manager, coordinate donor communication and planning. 
4. Prepare donation quarterly reports and report post event on financial and potential contact outcomes and lessons learnt. 
5. Build and support our individual giving Champions programme through events and regular communications. 
6. Work with the Founding Director in research to support grant applications and assistance in making applications to small grant–making organisations. 
7. Prepare information for reports to Trusts and Foundations and major donors, creating a fundraising dashboard to include uploading and managing reporting and grant deadline dates on Salesforce including the establishment of a reporting procedure for existing grants makers. 
8. Working with the Development Manager, ensure there is sufficient and appropriate fundraising events to meet the annual donations targets through events. 
9. With the Executive Director and the Development Manager, support the logistics for event committees including assisting in identifying potential Chairs and committee members and working with the event hosts. 
10. Support the Development Manager to expand FCW’s fundraised revenue through developing event sponsorship opportunities and other forms of event revenue (ticket sales, raffles etc). 
11. Supported by the Finance Director, set up and manage the annual budget for expenditure and income from events. 
12. Any other duties as required from time to time to support the work of the charity. 

The following knowledge and skills have been identified for the role of Fundraising & Events Officer: 

• Excellent spoken and written English, including good grammar 

• Proven experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel 

• Experience maintaining a data base, preferably Salesforce

The role

As Senior IT Manager, you will lead on all things IT across CSE and our subsidiary, Retrofit West CIC. From supporting staff day-to-day to managing our infrastructure and external support partner, you will ensure our systems are secure, fit for purpose, and evolving with our needs.

Senior Finance Business Partner & Analyst

About you

As our Senior Finance Business Partner & Analyst you support all financial aspects of our income generation and contract management working closely with budget holders and senior management. Our income is about £10m much of which is contractual but with a small and growing donation income stream from trusts and individuals. We provide advice and guidance to people affected by dementia via face to face, online and telephone appointments; passionately promoting their independence, improving sense of well-being, putting people in more control of their lives. This role also involves building connections with other local services to help people find all of the support and activity available to them.

- Offer a vital, compassionate advice service to support and guide those affected by dementia - in person and by phone.

We are now seeking to appoint a Head of Policy Engagement to lead our engagement in Scotland with policymakers and senior sectoral stakeholders under those four community-led missions. Using your deep understanding of the political, social and policy environment in which our grant holders operate, you will ensure our funding is aligned with policy and has the greatest impact possible as well as using learning from our grant holders to influence future policy development.

You will already have well established relationships with Scottish Government, other funders and the third sector. You will use this to share learning and insight from our funding, lead consultations and identify opportunities for future collaboration.

You will be part of a policy and practice network across the Fund, working collaboratively with colleagues across the UK to develop One-Fund approaches to our missions.

We’re looking for someone who is values-driven, passionate about the Fund’s purpose and deeply committed to equity, diversity and inclusion. You will have a strong track record of influencing at a senior level and be able to articulate strategic ambitions clearly and effectively.  You will also have a nuanced understanding of the role of a non-Departmental Public Body in the policy landscape and experience of working collaboratively across organisational boundaries.  As a member of the Scotland Directorate Senior Management team, you will provide inspiring leadership and strategic direction to the wider team.

The role is likely to involve some travel across Scotland, as well as to other parts of the UK to connect with colleagues.  We offer a flexible and supportive working environment and an excellent all-round benefits package.

5. Proven leadership skills, including the ability to inspire colleagues and work collaboratively in matrix structures.
    
6. Strong planning and analytical skills, with expertise in research and consultation.
    
7. Proven commitment to continuous improvement, self-reflection and personal development.

1. Clear understanding of the role of a UK-wide non-Departmental Public Body and the implications for policy and influencing.
