About this job
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Income and Gift Aid Accountant Assistant to help us make sure every penny counts in our mission to stop MS. You'll play a key role in managing our income processing and supporting Gift Aid claims to help us maximise the value of every donation.
You'll ensure that donations recorded in our CRM system match the funds received, resolving discrepancies and supporting our income processes to run efficiently. Working closely with our Customer Services and Fundraising teams you’ll be at the heart of making sure our financial data is accurate and robust.
You’ll also assist with preparing and checking Gift Aid claims, helping us claim back vital extra funds at no additional cost to our supporters. Your detail driven approach will help us continue to build a strong and transparent foundation for everything we do.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need a good understanding of financial accounting principles, strong Excel and IT skills, and a collaborative problem-solving approach. Excellent communication and organisational skills will also be essential as you work closely with teams across the organisation to ensure our income records are accurate and efficient.

The Marketing and Comms Manager will support the delivery of Ella’s integrated communications,
marketing and emerging advocacy work. This role will help to ensure Ella’s reaches and influences
external audiences effectively — raising awareness of the challenges faced by survivors,
strengthening Ella’s public profile, and increasing engagement with supporters, partners and the
wider public.
The postholder will lead our marketing and communications across digital channels, the website,
impact reporting and organisational campaigns and also play a lead role in developing and delivering

Spires has developed into an organization that provides a range of services, including day centre style drop-ins for homeless people, a Women’s drop in, a Refugee drop in and outreach targeted at supporting Women who are sex working. Our core mission is to support homeless people into housing and to assist those who have been homeless in maintaining their accommodation.
Part 1: The Role
This role sits within our Housing and Homelessness [H&H] team. The post holder will support with the running of our drop-ins and support a caseload of clients who will be homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Part 2: Key duties and responsibilities
Service Delivery & Support
· Welcome and engage service users in a non-judgemental, compassionate manner.
· Provide basic needs support such as food, clothing, and access to a safe space.
· Offer advice, advocacy, and signposting on housing, health services, and other support agencies.

Part 4: Summary of terms and conditions of service
Location: The postholder will be an employee of The Spires Centre. This post is based at
Elmfield House 5 Stockwell Mews SW9 9GX. However, the post holder will be working across Spires’ drop-ins in Lambeth, Wandsworth and Croydon.
Probation: This post is subject to a 6-month probationary period.
Notice: This post is subject to a four-week notice period.
Annual leave: The annual leave entitlement is 35 days per year pro rata, made up of eight bank and public holidays and 27 days annual leave. The 27 days annual leave is normally split between 24 ‘bookable’ days and three closure days that fall between Christmas and the New Year. Although the centre is closed between Christmas and the New Year.
Pension: The Spires Centre will contribute 5% of annual salary for those who qualify for our group pension plan.

The Sortition Foundation, alongside democracy movement allies, is campaigning for a permanent citizens' assembly (CA) in Greater Manchester. Greater Manchester's governance is flawed, with a mayoral authority backed by a small, indirectly elected Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA), leaving residents with just one vote every four years. A permanent CA would address this deficit by giving people a voice and holding leaders accountable. A CA would not only benefit greater Manchester but strengthen the Mayor’s decision-making and boost the region’s influence. As metro mayors expand nationwide, this campaign sets a powerful precedent, positioning Greater Manchester as a leader in democratic reform.
About the role
This role supports the delivery of a campaign for a permanent citizens’ assembly in Greater Manchester. Working closely with the Head of Organising and the wider organising and campaigns team, the Organiser will help engage existing supporters, reach new people, and support the practical delivery of organising activities and administration (keeping records and contact lists, etc).
The role is focused on implementation and support, rather than campaign strategy, senior political representation (i.e. this is not a lobbying campaign), or organisational decision-making. Safety4Sisters (S4S) is a specialist Black and minoritised by and for women’s organisation based in Manchester. Our aim is to promote the human rights of migrant women experiencing a spectrum of gendered violence by providing a trauma informed, specialist, holistic and integrative programme of support to Black and minoritised survivors with NRPF. Support is underpinned by the following strands of services and activities; culturally competent advocacy, welfare and destitution support, a specialist refuge dedicated to migrant women with NRPF, therapeutic activities, groups and training, social activities, a helpline for both professionals and women, grassroots campaigning, and strategic advocacy.
JOB PURPOSE
To support the development and delivery of Safety4Sisters’ policy, campaigning, and influencing work to advance the rights, safety, and wellbeing of Black, minoritised and migrant women and children experiencing violence against women and girls (VAWG).
The post holder will contribute to influencing local, regional, and national policy and decision-making on VAWG, honour-based abuse, harmful practices, immigration and asylum policy, and no recourse to public funds (NRPF). This work will be rooted in survivor voice, frontline practice, and Safety4Sisters’ feminist and anti-racist values.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1.To contribute to the planning and delivery of Safety4Sisters’ policy, campaigning, and influencing work in line with the organisation’s strategic priorities.
2.To undertake policy research and analysis on issues affecting Black, minoritised and migrant women experiencing VAWG, including immigration, asylum, and NRPF.
3.To draft policy briefings, consultation responses, reports, statements, and other written submissions to influence decision-makers and statutory bodies.
4.To work closely with frontline staff, partners, and where appropriate victim-survivors, to ensure that policy and campaigning work is informed by lived experience and practice-based evidence.

Job Title: Project Co-Ordinator
Contract Type: 28 hours per week, 12 months fixed-term contract
Salary: £24,800 per annum (£31,000 FTE)
Base: This role is primarily remote, with regular travel required. The successful candidate will travel one day per week to Manchester and one day per week to the Northeast to deliver and support workshops. There will also be occasional travel to the Head Office in Droitwich, Worcestershire.

Overview
The Project Co-ordinator will be responsible for the planning, implementation and management of our various programmes and initiatives aimed at supporting individuals who have spent their childhood in the care system. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, the Project Co-ordinator will ensure that all aspects of project delivery is carried on time, within scope, and within budget. We are seeking an individual who is a creative thinker and can develop innovative, engaging sessions and opportunities for care leavers. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful initiatives designed to improve the health, mental health, well-being, and overall life outcomes for care leavers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Management
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the various programmes and initiatives.
- Ensure all project activities are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Develop detailed project plans, monitor progress, and make adjustments as necessary.
- Coordinate the delivery of activity with the relevant delivery partners to ensure services are provided on time and appropriately meet the needs of care leavers.
2. Communication and Stakeholder Management
- Foster strong relationships with delivery partners, customers, statutory services, and commissioners.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders.
- Address any issues or concerns raised by stakeholders promptly and effectively.
- Organise and facilitate meetings, ensuring communication is clear and action points are followed up.
- Prepare and send out project-related communications, updates, and reports to stakeholders.
3. Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Adhere to agreed project outcomes and activity-based targets.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including progress reports, risk logs, and other relevant documents.
- Monitor and report on project budgets, identifying any potential overruns or issues.
- Collect and analyse data/feedback on programme outcomes and evaluate the success of projects upon completion, ensuring outcomes align with the charity’s mission and strategic goals.
- Prepare and present reports on the effectiveness and impact of the programmes/initiatives to commissioners/stakeholders.
- Assist with the preparation of funding applications, reports, and other documentation for funders.
- Provide recommendations for process improvements to enhance project delivery in the future.
4. Budget Monitoring and Reporting
- Liaise with the finance team who will prepare regular financial reports for commissioners.
- Identify and address any financial risks or discrepancies and raise them with the finance team.
5. Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Implement quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of service delivery.
6. Additional Duties
- Participate in meetings, training sessions, and other events as required.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the various programmes and initiatives.
- Work in line with the charities ‘Vision and Values’.
- Work to deadlines and respond in a flexible way to changing demands.

Qualifications and Skills

- Proven experience of working within the charity or statutory sector (paid or voluntary), with clear evidence of making a positive and measurable difference.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Ability to manage and prioritise tasks effectively, ensuring accuracy and quality in all work.
- Ability to analyse data and understand funder requirements and reporting.
- Budget monitoring skills.
- Ability to identify problems early and develop practical solutions.
- Proficiency in using project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Role purpose statement: The Programme Assistant, Enquiries plays a vital role in the Fellowship Programme working directly with academics facing immediate risk in their home countries to carry out due diligence or signposting. This includes managing an individual caseload, dealing with prospective applications and general enquiries, providing administrative support to the Enquiries team as well as support across the Fellowship Programme when needed.
Organisational Background
The Council for At-Risk Academics is a UK-registered charity founded in 1933 under the leadership of William Beveridge, to rescue academics suffering persecution under the rise of Nazism and facilitate their continued work in safety. Sixteen Cara Fellows from the 1930s and 1940s became Nobel Laureates, and many more innovators in their fields, including, Nikolaus Pevsner, Lise Meitner and Karl Popper. A number of Cara’s founders and Council members also personally provided places and/or funds to help individual academics; and Cara, known in the 1930s as the AAC, later the SPSL, was closely involved in the successful effort in 1933 to bring to London the Warburg Institute art library, which had been prohibited by the Nazis, and six of its staff. The Fellowship Programme is the continuation of the rescue mission operation started in 1933.
Cara has been a lifeline to academics at risk for over 90 years, as and when world events have placed them in the line of fire: Hungarian Uprising, Cold War, Apartheid South Africa, Iran, Latin American Juntas, Vietnam, Kosovo, DRC, Rwanda, Sudan, Zimbabwe etc. and, more recently Iraq, Turkey, Yemen, Palestine, Syria, Afghanistan and Ukraine. Cara support is typically framed as temporary sanctuary offered at times of heightened risk.
Cara Objectives ‘To assist academics who have been, or are, or are at risk of being, subject to discrimination, persecution, suffering or violence on account of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group, or political opinion, to relieve needs among them and their dependants and ensure that their specialist knowledge and abilities can continue to be used for the benefit of the public.’

Role & Responsibilities
Casework

Signposting prospective applicants to the application form.

Manage own caseload, preparing cases for eligibility review, including arranging calls to speak with applicants, booking English language tests, and gathering all relevant documentation.
