This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced youth worker to join our Brent team. You will bring energy, compassion, and resilience to make a real change to the life chances of young people in the UK asylum system.

You will be responsible for supporting young people aged 14-25 years, enabling them to access a range of social, emotional, and practical support as they navigate the complex and challenging processes of the UK asylum system.You will help us run activities for young people at our advice hub on Wednesday evenings in Brent and run our youth group on Thursday evenings in Brent n as well as our sporting activities and trips.

You will work closely with our Brent Youth Development Coordinator. You will need to be able to work under pressure, acting as a consistent and stable point of contact for young people, ensuring that their safety and well-being are paramount.

About you

We would like to hear from you if you have the following:

· Demonstrable experience in supporting vulnerable young people in a similar role, particularly through youth activities in 1;1 and/or group settings, or befriending/mentoring 

· Good knowledge of the UK asylum system and the related challenges facing young refugees and asylum-seekers in contingency accommodation

· Strong ability to problem-solve, research information and solutions, and to take initiative

· Working knowledge of child protection issues and safeguarding processes 

· Ability to empathise, communicate and engage effectively with young people in distress 

· Ability to handle complex, sensitive and confidential information appropriately

· You are available to work on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

Support and Outreach Worker - Glasgow

The Big Issue is looking to appoint to a brand-new role supporting our vendors in our Glasgow region. The Support and Outreach Worker will be a leading role in our belief of “A Hand Up Not a Hand Out”, and has been created to improve our service to vendors, helping them to increase their income through selling our magazine and providing casework support. 

You will also positively promote The Big Issue in your local area, build partnerships with third-party organisations and identify and promote opportunities all with the aim of moving people out of poverty.

Working Well is a mental health and employment charity in London. All of our projects share the aim of improving the lives of people with mental health, learning disabilities, neurodiversity, and/or complex issues through training and employment.

We are recruiting a full-time Employment Support Worker for our supported employment team in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames. This is a permanent role. The post holder will carry a caseload of clients who may have one or more support needs including:

The focus of the role is to support clients to achieve their employment goals, engaging with employers and training providers to secure vocational outcomes in line with client preferences.

• Located at a 24-hour supported housing service in Clapham, we provide high quality self-contained accmmodation for 15 women who have experienced homelessness and multiple disadvantage.
• The aim of the service is to provide a therapeutic environment in which women feel safe and can flourish, enabling them to move on into independent, permanent accommodation. The accommodation also includes overnight safe spaces.
• In this role, you will provide direct support to all the women, as well as holding a small case load of residents who you will keywork.

Specialist Support Workers within Look Ahead are required to have either an extra dimension of experience or a higher qualification level as determined relevant for the particular post. Specialist Support Workers provide information, social inclusion and vocational opportunities to support people to recover and stay well; exercise choice and control in their care and lives; and participate on an equal footing in the community. Support is also provided to develop a model of re-enablement towards self-advocacy, self-management and empowerment, incorporating the principles and practice of recovery, co-production and peer support.

This role requires a valid Right to Work for the UK as Look Ahead are not a sponsoring organisation.

What you'll do:

* Building supportive, trusting relationships with customers and creating a positive atmosphere
* Carrying out holistic assessments of new customers which incorporate relevant statutory referral information
* Conducting regular key work sessions that are innovative and engaging in order to achieve Support Plan goals
* Create support plans for providing appropriate services based on on-going assessment and reflecting the services and resources available to enable customer to progress in their recovery
* Ensuring ongoing assessment and management of risks associated with customers within an attitude of positive risk taking
* Provide support and access to relevant services to enable customers to continue their recovery and empower customers to self-manage their medication regimes through individual re-enablement programmes and informed decision making
* Undertake support work in partnership with external stakeholders to compliment their interventions
* Developing productive relationships with partner organisations to improve service outcomes
* Demonstrate strong commitment to the functioning of the staff team and to support colleagues in providing a high level of service and safety to customers
* Involving customers in the design, development and delivery of the service
* Adhering to lone working protocols and maintaining high levels of awareness in relation to the health and safety of yourself and colleagues
* Ensuring Look Ahead Health and Safety policies and local protocols are adhered to at all times e.g. fire risk assessments, fire alarm checks etc.
* Being responsible for the handover of key information between shifts
* Provide structured support and guidance to other front line staff in their area of expertise
* To lead groups and activities - offering a range of appropriate therapeutic and recovery focused interactions and activities
* Adhering to all other Look Ahead's policies and procedures. Engaging in learning and development activity to increase knowledge and skills
* Undertaking any other duties consistent with the grade and nature of the post as assigned by the Service Manager/Deputy Manager

• Located at a 24-hour supported housing service in Clapham, we provide high quality self-contained accommodation for 15 women who have experienced homelessness and multiple disadvantages.
• The aim of the service is to provide a therapeutic environment in which women feel safe and can flourish, enabling them to move on into independent, permanent accommodation. The accommodation also includes overnight safe spaces.
• You will be responsible for providing support to all the residents as needed during the evening and night, including running co-designed activities, and responding appropriately to requests and incidents.
• The successful applicant must be able to model person-led, psychological, gender, and culturally informed support, be skilled at building trust and be a great team player. You must be confident working as the sole support worker on site and have good judgement in managing incidents.
• This is a waking night support role, undertaking 12 hour shifts alongside concierge, 8pm to 8am every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. Please be aware that the building has several floors and no lifts.

Invisible Palace is currently looking for a Youth Support Worker to join an established circus project that works with local a primary school and youth partners in the Bromley and Lewisham areas of London.

Your experience does not necessarily need to be in a school or youth work setting, but could be working or volunteering in youth groups, sports coaching, after school clubs or the care sector.

You will need to have availability during late afternoon and early evening and during school holidays, these are the times when activities on the circus programme take place.

Job Description - Freelance Youth Support Worker

• Freelance contract of up to 8 hours per week at £18 per hour for an estimated 44 weeks of the year.
• Available after school, early evening, and school holidays.
• Attend after school club sessions periodically to understand the needs of participants and support participation in the wider circus programme, currently Wednesday evenings 10 weeks per term.
• Attend taster sessions for youth groups to understand the needs of participants and support participation in the wider circus programme, usually afternoon sessions during half term or summer holidays.
• Have a supportive and encouraging attitude, to inspire trust and good communication with young people and families.
• Identify needs of young people and support those needs to minimise barriers to participation in the circus programme.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to young people as they navigate challenges and pursue their goals within the programme.
• Support young people directly with travel to and from sessions at local circus school using bus, taxi, or with volunteer drivers. Usually early evenings.
• Support young people with additional behavioural needs during sessions this may involve attending after school session more frequently.
