Your main role is to be a senior member of the PIRC team, holding responsibility for overseeing PIRC’s strategic direction and vision, and leading on organisational and operational development to ensure the financial health of the organisation.

Title: Head of Operations

Contract: Permanent

Location: Hybrid - based at PIRC offices in Machynlleth, as well as your home address, with travel when necessary.

Salary: £42-45,000 (£25-27,000 pro rata). This is the base rate for our socially-just pay policy, which can provide additional salary based on personal need.

Hours: 24 hours over 3 days, usually between Monday to Thursday, with 1:1  toil system (hours or days earned for working beyond your set hours)

Job-sharing: Unfortunately applications for job-sharing this role cannot be considered.

Holiday: 28 days (17 days pro rata, including bank holidays) 

Additional Leave: We operate a two-week (paid) winter closure period. This is non-contractual leave and it does not count  towards your annual leave allowance. Closure period dates are reviewed and confirmed annually.

The Role:

Strategic Leadership

• With the Head of Programmes, co-lead, as part of a collaborative process with the full staff team, the development and review of the operational strategy and budget
• Plan and facilitate Core Team Meetings
• Provide oversight and input into funding applications and reports
• Provide oversight and input into Board development and governance processes
• Provide oversight over annual, quarterly and monthly planningCoordinate quarterly staff residentials (timetabling, logistics, agenda overview, facilitation)

• Oversee HR & legal practices (e.g. policy guidance)

• Oversee staff development: appraisals, mentoring, anti-oppression 121s, skills audits, and all-team training needs

• Provide support to Core team members (such as Fundraising Lead and Finance Lead) 
• Oversee confidential and/or official People processes (such as grievance, performance  & disciplinary procedures; long-term illness processes and workplace adjustments), utilising the support of the People subgroup and People Support Co-op (PIRC’s external HR support)

Fundraising Manager
 

We are looking for an experienced Fundraising Manager – Trusts & Foundations and Corporate Fundraising to join a pioneering organisation.

About the Role:

As Fundraising Manager, you will support the Director of Fundraising in implementing our charity's strategy across trusts & foundations and corporate fundraising. Experience, Qualifications, and Skills:

• At least 3 years' experience in fundraising, with success in securing significant grants.

The Home Ownership Officer will play a key role in managing the relationship between Hastoe and its leaseholders, shared owners and freeholders. The role ensures compliance with leases, legislation and internal policies, while supporting residents with advice and managing a range of property and legal matters.

The role will also support the Home Ownership Manager in delivering a high-quality service to homeowners, ensuring compliance with leases, legislative requirements, and Hastoe policies.

Duties will include:

• Acting as the main point of contact for leaseholders and shared owners, dealing with queries related to leases, service charges and home ownership policies.
• Managing statutory and voluntary lease extensions, collective enfranchisement applications as well as staircasing, liaising with legal teams and valuers as needed.
• Investigating and resolving breaches of lease conditions, working with internal and external partners to achieve timely resolution.
• Carrying out administration aspects relating to resales, disposals, consultations and Ground Rent.
• Working with our solicitors to prepare cases for legal action including injunctions, money judgments, and forfeiture where necessary, and representing the organization at court or tribunal hearings.
• Liaising with finance teams to answer any service charge queries and to assist with the service charge estimates and actuals.

About the role

We’re looking for a Team Manager with extensive social work experience to manage our Sheffield Team. In this role, you’ll be supporting children and young people diagnosed with cancer by managing a team of social care staff who deliver services in line with our organisation’s service specifications.

You will be based at Sheffield Children’s Hospital where most of the team are based with one Social Worker based also at Weston Park Hospital. This is a hybrid role with flexibility to work both from home and from Sheffield Children’s Hospital, however, there is an expectation that the majority of time (2 out of 3 days minimum) you will be present at the hospital with the team, especially on Tuesdays as this is when the whole team is together.

About you

Our work is rewarding but also complex and demanding; you will need to be resourceful and resilient.

We are looking for a social work qualified experienced people manager to take responsibility for operational management and development of our social work services.

You will ensure that effective services are delivered to children and young people with cancer and their families through the professional supervision of our staff group, working across split sites.

You will have:

• You must hold an appropriate social work qualification.
• Extensive experience of working with children and young people including complex case work and risk assessment and care planning, caseload management and interagency working
• Experience of managing safeguarding for children and vulnerable adults, legislation, procedures and best practice
• Experience of supervising students and / or staff in a social care setting
• Experience of delivering support to young people and families via different mediums including individuals, groups and digital delivery.
• A proven ability to manage expectations of key stakeholders including staff and service users

We are looking for a passionate and driven person to lead and deliver the day to day operations across our North West Reserves Region. Delivering the conservation and restoration objectives of the reserves, through practical work, growing and managing locally based volunteers, supporting management planning and monitoring. This role will also manage building maintenance, infrastructure and access on our North West Reserves. The role will work closely with the regional reserves team supported by the Reserves Manager. The candidate: 

· The successful candidate will have a Higher Education qualification in environmental land management (Wildlife conservation/agriculture) and at least two years’ experience of wildlife reserve management and demonstrable track record in the environmental land management sector. 

Main Objectives 

· Champion the Vision and/or objectives for all reserves and projects in the region with existing and potential stakeholders and contributors. 

· Oversee and provide delivery of day-to-day operations on our reserves, where relevant and appropriate this will include maintenance of buildings, grounds, offices, workshops and wider infrastructure.

· Support, with line management, the roles detailed in the region-specific addendum.

The core function of this role is to provide specialist advocacy to individuals who are navigating the NHS continuing healthcare assessment and complaints processes. You will be an excellent communicator and skilled advocate with a minimum of 2 years’ experience working within the field of NHS continuing healthcare or a similar role with a transferrable knowledgebase. A health, social care, advocacy or legal qualification is desirable but not essential. A proven ability to analyse complex matters, provide a clear and coherent rationale and deliver robust advocacy by presenting a persuasive, fact-based argument is essential.

MAIN DUTIES:

1. To provide advocacy and active case support in person or remotely to clients in England and Wales, throughout the NHS continuing healthcare assessment process.

   Please note: some assessments will be completed virtually via videoconference whereas others are completed in-person. Applicants will need to be comfortable with both working from home and also regular long-distance travel to assessment meetings across England and Wales (including overnight stays where necessary), often with only two or three days’ notice.

2. To analytically examine all relevant care records and assessments in preparation for continuing healthcare assessments and reviews, to prepare clients for their assessment and provide robust advocacy at assessment meetings based upon a sound understanding of the facts, and referencing evidence compiled from such records.
3. To provide advocacy and casework to clients who wish to make a formal complaint through the NHS complaints procedure about a continuing healthcare-related matter from a sound understanding of the facts, having prepared key arguments by researching relevant records.
4. To support the casework team from time to time in the preparation of submissions which will be presented to relevant Integrated Care Boards and NHS England panels.
5. To provide specialist information and advice to our clients tailored to their specific situation and needs regarding the interpretation of a primary health need from a thorough understanding of relevant criteria, assessment frameworks and legal tests which are based upon case-law. 
6. To keep informed of issues, policies, guidance and legislation affecting clients ensuring that the information provided is relevant, current, complete and accurate.
7. To respond to new referrals by making prompt initial contact with the client within the timescales specified by company policies.
8. Work closely and efficiently with health professionals from relevant Continuing Healthcare (CHC) teams with the aim of resolving client issues at the earliest possible opportunity so as to provide an efficient and cost-effective service, and to minimise stress for the client.
9. To develop and maintain working relationships with health and social care colleagues within the field of Continuing Healthcare in order to influence best practice.

NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC) is the name given to a package of care that some people need to receive due to disability, accident or illness. Barnabas International is a large family of Christian ministries and charities focused on

giving practical support to suffering, abandoned and persecuted Christians around the

world. The ministry was founded in 1993, and since then, it has funded projects in more

than 100 countries, providing hope and help to millions of our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Some of our key projects include supplying food aid, medical supplies, educational and

vocational training, Bibles, micro-enterprise, disaster relief, help for victims of violence,

and support for pastors and church leaders. Barnabas Aid also provides advocacy for

religious freedom, especially for persecuted and suffering Christians.

Barnabas is primarily a Christian ministry and a charity. Employees are expected to

subscribe to the Vision, Mission, Value and Statement of Faith, and their work may be viewed

as being vocational. There is an occupational requirement for applicants to be practising

Christians, who are engaged in their local church, in order to be able to carry out our roles.

Overview of the Regional Coordinator role and the team

The Regional Coordinator plays a vital role in advancing the mission of Barnabas Aid by

building and nurturing relationships with churches, Christian organisations, and

individuals. The role aims to raise awareness, prayer, and financial support for the

persecuted church, fostering a network of engaged supporters and expanding the

organisation’s outreach.

Main duties and responsibilities

Strategy Implementation and Reporting:o Develop and execute regional outreach strategies aligned with organisational

goals.

o Monitor and evaluate engagement initiatives, providing regular updates and

reports.

o Maintain accurate records of engagements and donor activities using internal

systems.

Prayer Mobilisation:

o Host regular prayer meetings (virtual or in-person) for the region.

o Disseminate prayer resources and stay updated on current prayer requests.

o Attend daily organisational devotions in-person or online, unless this is not possible

due to an event or meeting.

Awareness Raising:

o Speak at churches, schools, conferences, and community events to share

Barnabas Aid’s mission.

o Collaborate with churches and Christian networks to organise awareness events

and campaigns.

o Distribute resources and materials to inform communities about the persecuted

church and suffering Christians.

o Network widely and to explore potential partnerships.

Income Generation and Donations:

o Cultivate relationships with potential supporters and donors.

o Plan and execute regional fundraising initiatives, including events and campaigns.

o Encourage financial and other resource donations, ensuring effective donor

stewardship.

Volunteer Development and Engagement:

o Recruit (when possible) train, and mentor volunteers to support outreach activities

providing resources and regular communication.

o Coordinate volunteer activities to align with regional and organisational strategies.

Community Engagement and Networking:

o Build and maintain strong relationships with church leaders, mission committees,

and Christian organisations.

o Collaborate with other Regional Coordinators to share best practices and

coordinate efforts.

o Attend conferences and networking events to expand Barnabas Aid’s reach and

influence.

Event and International Collaboration:o Contribute to planning and attend national conferences, festivals, and events.

o Participate in international trips to meet project partners, witness project impact, to

assist or lead in auditing a project and share insights with supporters and

colleagues.

Operational Flexibility:

o Manage a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and extensive travel.

o Ensure tasks are completed efficiently, including additional assignments as

needed.

o Proficiency - Microsoft Office Pack including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and

Outlook.

o General Computer Proficiency - Understanding of file management, navigating

operating systems, and using productivity tools. (creating folders and managing

files in the cloud).

o Experienced in public speaking.

o Full driving licence

Desirable:

o Proven experience in community outreach, church engagement, or related fields.

o Familiarity with digital tools and social media platforms.

o Evidence of further education and an ability to engage diverse audiences.

o Previous church leadership experience is an advantage.
