By campaigning for better patient experience and outcomes metrics, we can ensure that what matters to people becomes the key measure of success for the NHS.
In the first two years of the strategy we have already made big strides. For example, our work encouraging the Government to focus on “getting the basics right” has seen major policy initiatives designed to fix access to primary care and the 8am rush. Similarly, our work on the experience of waiting for elective care has seen the introduction of the first ever set of minimum standards for waiting.
Our work on the 10 Year Plan, and on the Quality Strategy, has also seen both patient experience and outcome measures given much greater prominence in how the NHS judges success and National Voices has now been commissioned by NHS England to help design the future of patient feedback mechanisms.
We have also successfully campaigned for funding formulas to be revised to enable the NHS to directly address the inverse care law and tackle the impact of health inequalities head on.
But there are challenges ahead, not least the role patients and communities play directly in co-producing improvement. With ICBs under huge financial pressures, and so much change in the health and care system, we need to make sure every piece of work we deliver is of the highest quality and adds real value. The Corporate Communications Manager will be responsible for the development and delivery of clear, consistent and compelling communications that strengthens our reputation and supports the positioning of our organisational narrative and brand.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Planning
· Act as the primary communications business partner to Corporate Partnerships, Brand and the CEO Office, providing strategic communications advice and support.

Ways of working:
As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

This is an exciting opportunity to join NEYDL’s growing team and help us establish and develop our work with young dads in Tees Valley.
As a Senior Young Dads Worker, you will provide direct, intensive support to young dads across Tees Valley, working with some of the most disadvantaged young men in the region. You will manage your own caseload, lead peer support activity, work in close partnership with Family Hubs, social care and other local services, and take a lead role in ensuring every young dad you work with is effectively supported from first contact through to positive outcomes.
This is a senior role with real responsibility. As a Support Worker, you will empower service users to improve their health, wellbeing, and independence while supporting them to achieve their personal goals and aspirations. Working under the guidance of the Team Leader, you will manage a caseload, coordinate effective assessments and reviews, and help individuals engage confidently with community professionals and services. You will contribute to the smooth running of the service by supporting health and safety, property management, budgets, and voids, while ensuring accurate record-keeping and confidentiality. You will also develop co-produced activities, peer support opportunities, and community initiatives, promoting inclusion, independent living skills, and positive outcomes for service users.
What do I need to bring with me?
You'll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires as well as match our values and mission. You don't have to tick all the boxes right away; the important thing is that you're willing to learn. We also value lived experience of the areas we support, so if you feel comfortable, please do mention this on your application.
You will need a good understanding of health and safety requirements within an accommodation-based setting, together with the ability to help maintain a safe, secure, and well-managed environment for service users. Experience of supporting individuals with mental health needs is essential, alongside an understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and the confidence to respond appropriately to concerns. You should possess strong literacy, numeracy, and IT skills, with the ability to produce clear written communications and maintain accurate records. A basic knowledge of housing management, including repairs and maintenance processes, is also important, enabling you to contribute effectively to the smooth operation of the service.
