About the role:

When a family member has a spinal cord injury, it can be difficult to acknowledge and accept that their injury will affect you too.

You might find it difficult to express and share how you have been affected by these events, especially to your loved one with the injury. Overwhelming feelings of guilt, helplessness, confusion and isolation are very common. 

Back Up’s Family Support team are there to help. Right from the point of injury, our Family Support Coordinators work together with the family and the injured person to create their own ‘Family Plan’ - making sure they have access to information and support throughout the rehabilitation journey.

As a Family Support Coordinator, you will build relationships with professionals to encourage referrals and manage a caseload. Whether it be meeting family members in a clinical setting, providing a listening ear from someone who ‘just gets it!’, or making referrals for ongoing support from a range of partners or statutory agencies – you will be passionate about being able to demonstrate the impact of what we do, and will see for yourself how Back Up quite literally transforms lives.

Key Responsibilities

Spear Programme

• Lead group sessions of up to 10 young people, using coaching skills to transform their mindsets, and to maximise their potential in stepping into the world of work
• Prepare and deliver coaching sessions on a weekly basis and find creative ways of developing ongoing relationships with Spear Trainees. This includes running application workshops with past Trainees as well as maintaining records and reporting on statistics.

Relationship management

• Build and manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses, and other organisations
• You will support with job fairs, mock interview days and welcoming external visitors to the centre

Church Community

• The Spear Coach is directly employed by Alive Church, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community
• Help to raise the profile of the Spear programme within Alive Church and build a network of supporters and volunteers from the congregation
• Other ad hoc church responsibilities from time to time.

The project:

We are in the process of expanding our service beyond our London footprint to Bedfordshire, Essex, Hampshire, Hertfordshire and Kent, along with Thames Valley, providing one-to-one advocacy and specialist work including workshops and group activities delivered by Advance in partnership with voluntary organisations.

This role plays a critical part in coordinating the group offering for women accessing our services, as well as providing administration support across the region.

In short you will:

•    Be the first point of contact for clients coming to the Women’s Centre; offering a warm welcome and trauma informed approach. 

•    Hold responsibility for the Minerva telephone number and email account in your region. 

•    Assist in researching additional resources and events for service users; both within the Centre and across the region. 

•    Contribute to creating and lead on updating the local Services Directory with details of local organisations, key contacts and details of services on offer, including eligibility criteria.  

•    Assist the Service Manager in managing the smooth running of the Women’s Centre in your region, including managing the group workshops timetable, arranging meetings and booking external venues for client groups or training events.

•    Manage administration for the Kent Minerva team

•    Assist the Service Manager with the quality assurance and collation of data and information as required, including for funder reports.

We are looking for a Member Engagement Officer to assist a lively and talented team with all areas of Remember a Charity’s membership administration, in addition to supporting the marketing and partnerships workstreams.

This is a unique opportunity not only to help grow charitable giving, but to also work closely with those member charities (close to 200) who rely on gifts in Wills to continue their vital work.

Key Accountabilities

• To maintain and update records on Remember A Charity’s CRM database and E-Comms mailing lists for charities, legal supporters and partner organisations. To run CRM reports as required.
• To assist with the onboarding of new joiner charities and legal sector supporters.
• To use the website content management system (CMS) to build member charity and legal sector supporter online profiles; and to make any amends to these profiles and other website pages as required.
• To manage the central Inbox and respond to all enquiries or signpost to the relevant team member.
• To co-ordinate the programme of rolling annual membership renewal and new-joiner invoicing, including credit control of all invoices.
• To prepare monthly engagement report  collating key activity metrics for members and legal sector supporters.
• To assist with online and in person member, prospect, and legal sector supporter events, including creating registration links, managing attendee information on the CRM, and other events preparation and follow-up required.
• Representing Remember A Charity at key charity and legal sector exhibitions when required.
• To capture minutes from all key meetings.

Oasis are now in a position to employ an experienced Youth Development Worker to work alongside the children’s, youth and community hub team in Oldham. The role will be focussed on the Oldham South community (surrounding Oasis Academies Oldham and Limeside) working closely with the academies as part of Oasis Hub Oldham.

As a Youth Development Worker you will;

· Work as part of the community hub team to plan and deliver youth services that address the needs of the local neighbourhood, including open access, holiday and community activities.

· Deliver targeted programmes of work for young people impacted by youth violence.

· Build positive and supportive relationships with young people to develop their skills, knowledge and aspirations.

· Strengthen and sustain working relationships with local partners to provide holistic, sustainable and bespoke support for young people.

· Support communities impacted by critical incidents.

Amongst other requirements, the successful post holder must have:

· Relevant experience OR qualification in Youth & Community (JNC), Social Work (QSW) or SEND.

· Proven experience working with young people ‘at risk’.

· Reliability, with a flexible approach to changes and able to work unsociable hours.

Job description

This is an exciting time to join a highly successful and friendly fundraising team at Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF) as out National Events Fundraiser. Our ideal candidate is passionate, proactive and organised and will enjoy supporting hundreds of Team MRF runners who are fundraising to defeat meningitis.

Events Fundraiser

Salary: £23,000-£28,000 (depending on experience)

Location: Bristol, hybrid or remote working with monthly meetings in Bristol 

MRF National Events Programme

The MRF National Events Fundraiser is responsible for a significant proportion of our events income with hundreds of runners each year taking on the challenge of participating in iconic races such as TCS London Marathon and A J Bell Great North Run.

Many of our race participants join Team MRF for deeply personal reasons, having had first-hand experience of the disease. Without Team MRF runners we would not be where we are in the race to defeat Meningitis, they are fundamental to our work and have been so since our early days as a charity.

The National Events Fundraiser is an enjoyable role at MRF within a very successful fundraising team, which last year raised over £500,000 by supporting hundreds of runners on Team MRF.

Role Summary

This role is all about working with people, encouraging them as part of Team MRF and supporting them to reach their fundraising goals. You will need to be enthusiastic, outgoing and thrive in motivating people to take action through their fundraising.

You will need to be an advocate for MRF’s work to defeat meningitis, enabling people to achieve their goals and achieving the best for the Charity. It is through the determination of everyone involved with the national events programme that we are able to deliver a number of our goals as a charity. You will harness that passion to help each runner succeed and understand what a difference they make along the way.

With many different elements to the role from planning, marketing, stewardship and event delivery you will need to be flexible and adaptable. This isn’t a fully desk-based job, as at different points of the year you will get the chance to meet Team MRF runners face to face by attending the events themselves and delivering celebratory post-race receptions.

With large teams of runners across a rolling annual events programme you must feel comfortable in managing deadlines, overlapping plans and keeping on top of supporter communications. Whilst we have systems in place to support this, our ideal candidate is someone who enjoys taking responsibility for their own workload.

This a fun role that sees the events through from start to finish and a great opportunity for the right candidate.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities 

1. Client Support 

●Carry out initial assessment of client needs to identify and plan the support needed to address issues and prevent any problems from escalating. 

●Provide casework level advice on welfare benefits, housing and financial issues as appropriate.

●Facilitate access, signpost and accompany clients to services or activities, in particular those with limited English. 

●Assist clients with other related problems or refer to other specialist organisations as appropriate. 

●Make follow up calls to provide moral and practical support as appropriate.

●Keep up-to-date with local service provision for appropriate signposting and referrals. 

●Maintain professional practice standards and regulatory requirements, including confidentiality, safeguarding and equality.

Job Purpose:

As a Volunteer Coordinator you willbe responsible for supporting the Volunteer Service Manager on the following:

• Recruitment and hiring process by advertising for available volunteer positions, working with line managers in interviewing candidates, obtaining references, health questionnaires and DBS checks.

• Updating andmaintaining accurate volunteer records and files.

• Preparing and presenting induction materials for new volunteers, including handbooks and induction programmes.

The IT Support Team fulfils a range of roles and responsibilities, and whilst playing your part in delivering life changing funding you won’t have a typical day. As a first point of contact for all our customers you’ll engage with them to fully understand all their needs and provide support and solutions to fulfil and exceed their expectations.

Working closely with colleagues across the department, the IT Support Team ensures our customers benefit from an excellent enabling service provision in incident management and resolution, and request fulfilment.
