The Peer Support In-Reach Service is a partnership between several local Minds. Senior Peer Support Workers and Peer Support Workers, who have direct lived experience of mental health issues, are working on in-patient wards in Croydon, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Wandsworth to provide recovery-focused peer support to people as they leave hospital and journey towards living independently in the community.
We are seeking a Senior Peer Support Worker to join the team in Lewisham and line manage the Peer Support Workers.
You will use your lived experience whilst on the ward to help people to build skills to manage their home, finances, connect with family and friends, pursue social or vocational interests, to get more involved in their local community and to stay physically and mentally well.
Your support will be person-centred and may include mentoring, coaching, emotional support and facilitating access to community activities, practical support, work or study. The role will be ward-based initially until the patient is ready for discharge; you will then work with them to develop their support plans and goals. You will support them with the transition into the community for up to 6 weeks, helping them to connect with community resources to ensure they are well-supported in the community and working towards their goals.

About the role: We have been appointed as the secretariat of an Expert Reference Group (ERG) comprising a network of organisations in the London-wide violence against women and girls (VAWG) sector. The ERG supports the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) with its delivery of the Mayor’s VAWG strategy.
As the secretariat for the ERG, we will ensure that the VAWG sector is fully involved in MOPAC’s VAWG-related work. We will convene regular meetings and other opportunities for ERG members to raise, discuss and escalate to MOPAC relevant issues affecting the VAWG sector, ensure the needs of victim-survivors of VAWG are represented, and bring together the shared expertise and knowledge of the VAWG sector to provide expert insight to MOPAC’s VAWG-related work.

Key responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day finance operations, including income, expenditure and bank reconciliations
Prepare monthly management accounts and support budget monitoring
Maintain accurate financial records in line with charity accounting requirements
Support payroll processes and liaise with external providers
Prepare information for audits and work with external auditors
Support finance-related reporting for trustees, funders and senior managers
Ensure clear financial procedures and strong internal controls are followed
About you:
You will have proven experience in a finance or accounts role, ideally within the charity or not-for-profit sector. You will be confident working independently, while also supporting colleagues across the organisation with finance-related queries.
You will be highly organised, detail-focused and comfortable managing competing priorities. Strong Excel skills and experience using accounting software are essential, along with a practical and solutions-focused approach.

As Head of Fundraising and Communications, you will bring together fundraising, communications and impact to tell a powerful, credible story about Young Roots’ work and to unlock new, high-value funding. You will work closely with the CEO and trustees to position the organisation strategically, grow our profile, and build relationships with major donors and other senior partners.
This is a role for someone who enjoys both setting direction and making things happen. You will personally lead high-value fundraising and strategic communications, while enabling and supporting a skilled team to deliver across trusts, individual giving, engagement and impact reporting. As a member of the Leadership Group, you will help shape organisational strategy, culture and long-term sustainability.

About you
You will bring senior experience in fundraising and/or communications within a charity or mission-driven organisation, with a strong track record of raising profile, engagement or income. You’ll be a strategic thinker who is comfortable being hands-on, credible with senior stakeholders, and motivated by working for social justice.

What you’ll be doing
- Lead and support a team of support workers to deliver high quality support sessions, supporting individuals with multiple disadvantage who are facing homelessness.
- Manage and administer an effective high-performance culture through regular 1:1s, objective setting and appraisals, providing additional support where necessary to overcome challenges and barriers.
- Support your team to seek out opportunities for knowledge development and skill improvement, reviewing its relevance against organisational policies and budgets.
- Fulfil all mandatory line management responsibilities (e.g. annual leave and sickness management), providing strong leadership throughout the entire employee life cycle in accordance with the organisation’s People policies.
- Lead on ensuring all aspects of service and property compliance and H&S are maintained at appropriate levels at all times, escalating concerns without delay to senior management.
- Lead on the monitoring and delivery of all relevant contract performance elements, supporting your team to proactively engage with the meeting (and exceeding) of those measures.
- Maintain oversight across all safeguarding matters for the service, leading on engagement with external stakeholders and multi-disciplinary teams, attending case review meetings where appropriate.
- Support the team to take ownership of any rent management matters for residents, helping them to understand the importance of appropriate money management and to take necessary action to avoid arears, which will involve administration of housing benefit claims.
- Support the team with welfare benefit queries and money management skills to maximise rental income.
