This is an exciting opportunity to join Tact East London in a new role as Family Support & Community Engagement Worker and be part of an exciting project embedding community support, parent and child activities and deepen engagement across the region. The Family Support & Community Engagement Worker will be leading on the establishment of community hubs for foster carers where we can provide sustained local assistance, encourage peer to peer support, host family activities, training and identify other interventions that will consistently enhance the skills, knowledge and engagement of our foster carers.

Pay grade: NJC Grade Point 24 - £33,024 per annum pro-rata based on a three-day working week comprising 21 hours per week (£18,797).

Duties and responsibilities
Service Development
Consultation and Outreach
- Consult with current and potential group participants and draw on existing service data analysis to inform the content, locations, timings and other details of a groups programme for people affected by self-harm, following on from previous pilot groups run in 2023 and 2024
- Analyse consultation and service data and in collaboration with team members decide on groups programme themes
Community Connections and Groups Development
- Connect with and become a member of a range of relevant community networks in the local area to both share service information and learning, and learn about range of wider community support available
- Connect with and build a database of potential facilitators and venues
- Develop a rolling groups calendar with a core ongoing peer support group and time-limited specialist groups
- Build on existing processes and further develop processes and procedures to ensure robust record keeping, partnership agreements and safeguarding processes are in place that are GDPR compliant
- In collaboration with other Self Injury Support services, explore areas of overlap, potential for shared learning and joint working
- In collaboration with other Self Injury Support services, develop processes and procedures to support inclusivity and accessibility, including the administration of an accessibility fund for participants
Service Delivery
Groups Promotion and Delivery
- Handle groups logistics such as booking specialist facilitators, venues, refreshments and materials in line with budget
- In collaboration with the Communications Officer develop print and digital promotional materials and develop a dissemination plan
- In collaboration with other Self Injury Support services, conduct outreach work to promote the groups programme to other relevant community groups and organisations
- Respond to group programme enquiries and bookings, keep accurate, GDPR compliant records of participants, send information to participants in a timely manner
- Administer the accessibility fund with support from the Finance Administrator
- Support the delivery of groups in collaboration with other Self Injury Support team members
- In collaboration with the Self Injury Support safeguarding team, ensure all safeguarding concerns are addressed promptly and recorded in line with organisational policy
- Take part in personal reflective practice and professional development training as needed
Review and Evaluation
- Plan appropriate evaluation and monitoring of the groups programme which encompasses the experiences of participants and facilitators and aligns with wider organisational service monitoring
- Present evaluation findings in reports for the board of trustees and funders as needed

About the role
This role provides the successful candidate with the opportunity to join a dynamic and supportive team working with children and young people from the age of 13 up to the age of 25, supporting them to transition from children’s services into adult’s services.
Some of the key responsibilities include (but not limited to):
· To support the Transition Lead and work as part of a location-based transition team, acting as a resource to colleagues regarding transition issues.
· To support young people and their families in all aspects of transition including health, education, social and welfare.

About the Role

Job Purpose:
Oversight of all aspects of the finance of the Irish Chaplaincy: including pay roll, payment of bills, preparation of regular management accounts and the annual budget.
Reporting Lines:

Key Responsibilities:
Internal & External Communication
• Organising monthly payroll, including pension payments.
• Processing receipts (cash, cheque, online, BACS) and payments in a timely manner, whilst ensuring good record keeping.
• Preparing reconciliations - bank, credit card and balance sheet.
• Preparation and presentation of finance reports to the Board of Trustees.
• Assisting with preparation of Statutory Accounts.
• Preparation and submission of expense and Gift Aid claims.
• Preparation of Annual Budget, in collaboration with the CEO.
• Assisting with any audits which need to be undertaken.
• Liaising with banks where necessary.
• Maintaining the monthly balance sheet reconciliation.
• Liaising with external stakeholders to resolve any outstanding queries.
• Ensuring that all transactions are entered promptly and accurately in the Quickbooks accounting system.
• Prepare figures for reports for external funders on a regular basis.
• Responsible for the provision of any other financial information or forecasts which may be required.
General
• To comply with, and participate in, the development of the Irish Chaplaincy's policies, procedures and practices.
• To undertake other duties commensurate with the post to ensure the effective delivery of the service.
• To maintain appropriate confidentiality at all times.
• Attend and prepare for monthly supervision and participate where possible at monthly IC staff meetings, team development days, AGM and other similar events.
Skills and Competence:
Essential:
1. Qualified management accountant.
2. A detailed understanding and experience of working with the Quickbooks accounting software package.
3. Experienced in Fund account management, relevant to charities.
4. Able to work independently, with sound judgement, good time management and prioritisation skills. Consistent attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines is critical.
5. The ability to problem solve and seek appropriate support where necessary.
6. Excellent written and verbal skills.
7. Excellent level of IT literacy, including MS Excel and MS Word.

Job Title: Support Worker
Highway House is a charity that has been providing all year round shelter and support services to the homeless for the past 15 years. Our work with the homeless has evolved an adapted from 2009 to date to offer the support most needed at any given time. Highway House received the Faith Recognition Award for providing specialist services by Her Majesty’s Lieutenant at the Royal College of Medicine in November 2017. We have received the best shelter of the year award 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 by the London Prestige Awards.
Summary of role
This post is responsible for ensuring that guests who attend Highway House are in the first instance made welcome. The primary role will be to engage those guests that attend the day centre and guests that are resident in the shelter’s accommodation in developing a pathway of support for them and help them move to the maximum independence they are capable of. Providing baseline and continuing monitoring of their progress will be required, as will working closely with the project manager.
· Be responsible for receiving guests 2 days a week (7 hours each day) at the day centre
· Initial recording of guests details in database system
· Work with guests to identify their needs
· Research and engage appropriate support for guests
· Develop links with health and welfare agencies to benefit guests
· Support the physical and mental wellbeing of guests
· Visit guests placed in the shelter’s accommodation 1 day a week (4 hours) to do support work with guests.
· Supervise and inspect state of property and run room checks on weekly visit to the shelter’s accommodation.
- Ensure effective collection of monitoring information, consultation and feedback
- Report regularly to the project manager as and when required board of trustees upon the progress of the project against stated outcomes
- Agree with Manager any actions regarding outcomes
- Ensure all safeguarding issues are dealt with effectively as detailed within our policy

SANE is a UK-wide mental health charity working to improve the quality of life of anyone affected by mental illness. It aims to raise awareness and understanding of all mental health conditions; fight to improve frontline mental health services for individuals and carers; provide support, information and guidance through its helpline, call back service, email and text support; and promote and host research into causes, treatments and therapies.
About the role:
We would love to hear from anyone with experience and enthusiasm for training and working in mental health. The Training Officer role is pivotal for the recruitment and training of all our volunteers, who go on to support people affected by mental illness on our helpline or text services.
You will be part of the training delivery team that recruits and trains new volunteers for our out of hours mental health specialist helpline. You will provide support to the Training Manager by responding to volunteer emails and communications, preparing and updating the training material as required and taking active part in recruitment and development of SANE volunteers in line with agreed targets. You will ensure clear and timely information sharing and handover to colleagues and work closely with the service team to maintain high-quality service to our callers.
The role of Training Officer requires an open minded attitude, strong communication skills and ability to provide feedback to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Starting Salary: £16,200 pro rata, 22.5 hours (FTE £27,000 per annum)
About you:
- You have experience of delivering training to diverse groups
- Ideally, you have some experience of working in mental health field
- You are personable and genuinely interested in training and developing people from all walks of life
- You are an excellent communicator with a high level of self-awareness
- Awareness of group dynamics and ability to adapt the training depending on the group
- You can work collaboratively with your team and volunteers to ensure delivery of a high-quality service on SANEline

In this role, you will manage an existing caseload and new referrals, meeting with families and Young Carers to complete statutory assessments and create action plans. You‘ll provide support for Young Carers to reduce the impact of their caring role and improve their resilience, educational chances, and wellbeing, through signposting to local services, in-school support, one-to-one sessions, and workshops.
There will be opportunities to work closely with schools, Children’s Services and other agencies to raise awareness, identify hidden Young Carers, and ensure Young Carer needs are understood and acted on.
You will need to be confident, approachable and self-motivated, with the ability to quickly establish rapport with children and young people. Applicants should have relevant experience of working or volunteering in education, health or social care, or be looking to start a career working with children or young people.
This is a part-time role, ideally working Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (including occasional early evenings).
