Our client, Education Endowment Foundation is an independent charity dedicated to breaking the link between family income and education achievement. They do this by supporting schools, nurseries and colleges to improve teaching and learning for two-to 19-year-olds through better use of evidence.

Role:

We’re looking for an Evaluation Manager to commission and oversee robust, cost-effective evaluations of promising projects, manage a portfolio of studies, and contribute to the development of methodological best practice at the heart of the EEF’s work. As an Evaluation Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in commissioning and managing high-quality, cost-effective evaluations of EEF-funded projects. You’ll oversee a portfolio of studies from design to delivery, working closely with external evaluators and programme teams to ensure rigorous, practical evaluations and clear communication of findings. This is a chance to shape influential research, strengthen the evidence base on what works in education, and contribute to the EEF’s wider strategic work.

In this role you will:

• Commission evaluations in priority areas, including critically reviewing evaluation proposals to ensure proposed designs are high quality and cost-effective and that the most suitable external evaluators are appointed
• Manage evaluation projects once an external evaluator is appointed and being the primary point of contact for the evaluator
• Liaise between the evaluator and the delivery team (that is delivering the intervention) to ensure the evaluation project is set up effectively with a high-quality design (working closely with colleagues in EEF’s Programmes team)
• Work closely with the evaluator and delivery team to understand the practical issues involved in delivering evaluations and providing support when problems arise
• Manage evaluation contracts and budgets, and monitoring delivery of evaluation plans
• Conduct technical reviews of protocols, study plans, statistical analysis plans and evaluation reports
• Work closely with EEF’s Programmes and Dissemination and Impact teams to ensure that published reports are of high quality and effectively communicate findings to an audience of practitioners, academics, policymakers and the general public
• Develop and improve evaluation guidance and resources to clarify best practice and build the capacity of evaluators to conduct high quality research.

Candidate:

You'll be able to demonstrate:

• A commitment to the aims of the EEF and a genuine interest in the education sector in England
• An understanding of technical aspects of evaluation methodologies (randomised controlled trials, quasi-experimental designs, choice of outcome measurement, implementation and process evaluations (IPEs), etc.) and an ability to identify high quality evaluation plans and reports
• Experience in delivering or commissioning quantitative evaluation projects in education, health, or another related field
• Strong relationship management skills including managing stakeholder performance and differences in opinion
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences including practitioners, academics, and policymakers
• An organised and methodical approach, with excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• The ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and a commitment to fact checking own work, as well as the ability to work closely and collaboratively across teams
• A proactive, flexible, and pragmatic approach to evaluation, with an ability to balance a commitment to rigour with accessibility and impact
• A degree in an education, economics, policy, statistics, data science, sciences, or health-related subject

In addition, there are a few desirable skills for this role which could help you to stand out. Great if you already have them, but we don’t expect any candidate to have them all, and will provide training as required for the right candidate:

• Experience in delivering or commissioning quasi-experimental evaluations
• Experience in delivering or commissioning evaluations or research in Further Education (FE) / post-16
• A PhD or Masters with training in quantitative methods and/or mixed methods
• Experience conducting relevant statistical analysis and/or qualitative analysis.

We are looking for an enthusiastic safeguarding professional to join our Diocesan Safeguarding Team as a Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser - Casework & Training.  Reporting directly to the Head of Safeguarding / Diocesan Safeguarding Officer, you will play a key role in our commitment to creating a safer church for all by both effectively advising on, and managing, safeguarding concerns, conducting risk assessments & implementing safety plans, and developing, coordinating and delivering safeguarding training that assists in ensuring our churches are a safer place for all. 

The role involves working closely with clergy, church leaders, victims & survivors, statutory agencies, and other safeguarding professionals to promote best practices in the safeguarding of children, young people, and vulnerable adults across the diocese (including Carlisle Cathedral).  You will be part of a small professional team who work collaboratively together to ensure that church life is safer for all.  You will be supported in translating your skills and experience into the framework and practices of the Diocese. 

To be successful, you will be a highly organised individual with excellent people skills and will demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, discretion and sensitivity.  You will have strong interpersonal skills and be able to coach and mentor people from a range of backgrounds.  You will bring professional knowledge of safeguarding legislation and regulations from your previous / current role(s) and, have direct experience of casework management in this, or a related field.  You will have experience of delivering training, preferably of a safeguarding nature.  You will be able to work with complex information and solve problems and, provide clear practical advice in a timely manner. You will have sympathy towards the ethos and values of the Christian faith and be able to work effectively within a Church of England setting 

Salary £45,048 FTE plus 15% non-contributory pension.  This post is being offered at 28 hours per week (0.8 FTE) with flexible working. The Role

Finance Manager

Position Overview 

Our client is an international dispute resolution centre with over 35 years' experience helping organisations resolve commercial and workplace conflicts. As Finance Manager, you'll lead daily transactional finance activities, oversee team supervision, and support the Head of Finance in delivering accurate financial reporting and strategic initiatives that underpin the organisation's continued growth. They are part-company, part-charity.

The position is offered on a full-time permanent basis, with hybrid working available. The expectation is that you will be office based for 2-3 days per week.

Responsibilities 

· Lead daily transactional finance activities with timely, accurate ledger entries

· Oversee bank clearing and reconciliation of bank, cash, petty cash balances

· Manage monthly payment runs and customer receipt allocation processes

· Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliation and foreign exchange revaluation

· Maintain and control the fixed asset register and chart of accounts

· Support payroll processing and prepare draft VAT returns

· Supervise team members, conduct performance reviews, manage finance timetable

· Identify opportunities to automate and improve accounts production processes

· Support annual accounts preparation and liaise with external auditors

· Assist Head of Finance with ad-hoc projects and strategic initiatives

Requirements 

· CCAB-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIPFA, ICAS or ICAEW)

· Proven experience managing and supporting finance staff

· Strong experience with finance systems (iplicit experience desirable)

· Experience preparing VAT returns

· Experience preparing management accounts and financial reporting

· Desirable: change management, systems implementation, or process improvement experience

Join us as a Senior Brand and Strategic Communications Officer to help shape Mind's strategic comms planning, develop Mind's brand and lead on campaigns that helps more people access support.

This is for a fixed term contract for a maternity cover until May 2027. The salary is £41,242 (includes London weighting) per annum, paid on a pro-rata basis.

This role will:

-lead and deliver integrated campaigns from planning through to evaluation

-support organisation-wide strategic communications planning to make sure we're coordinated, audience-led and aligning to priorities

Key duties and responsibilities

The post holder will:

- Support delivery of Mind's strategic communications planning: Help coordinate Minds communications activity. This includes making sure Mind's work across the year is audience-led, aligned to Mind's priorities and contributes to our overrall brand narrative.

- Deliver audience-led strategic communications campaigns: Plan, manage and deliver audience-led communications campaigns that raise Mind's profile and support Mind's objectives. This includes developing integrated comms plans, developing creative, keeping track of performance and delivering evaluations.

- Champion equity, accessibility and audience insight: Make sure equity, inclusion and accessibility are embedded across all communications and brand,helping Mind reach everyone experiencing mental health problems. This includes engaging with people with lived experience to inform your work.

- Offer brand advice and guidance: Provide expert guidance on brand compliance and alignment with organisational strategy. Lead on brand monitoring including overseeing our monthly brand report. Maintain awareness of brand insights, audience research, as well as wider sector trends to inform decision making.

- Manage brand assets management system and capability building: Support the effective management of Mind's brand asset management systems. Support with brand training and resources, helping colleagues across Mind and the Federation to confidently use and apply the brand.

About the team

The Philanthropy Team raises income for Impetus and for Impetus partner charities. The team consists of 15 staff. Impetus has an annual income of c.£11 million which we are looking to grow significantly within the next few years. The team is led by two Directors of Philanthropy and Partnerships. 

The Philanthropy Team works with major donors, corporates and grant making trusts, as well as collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to ensure we make a compelling case to generate new financial commitments and wider support for our work. The team also deliver a high-quality engagement programme of volunteering and pro bono for Impetus’s corporate supporters.

About this role

The Engagement Manager is an experienced professional who plays a key role in supporting donor engagement across all Impetus donors, enabling the team to provide best practice and high-quality donor stewardship and a platform for the renewal of key philanthropic gifts.

The Engagement function is responsible for pro bono and volunteering. Reporting to the Head of Engagement, the Engagement Manager is responsible for supporting the successful delivery and continuous improvement of the volunteering programme, ensuring it delivers high-quality opportunities, contributes to agreed KPIs and evolves in line with the needs of funders and the organisation. 

The postholder will account manage key relationships with mid-level supporters and internal stakeholders, working across teams to deliver meaningful and well-coordinated engagement opportunities. They will contribute to identifying and developing new opportunities for the volunteering and pro bono programmes that respond to funder interests and portfolio needs. 

In addition, they will manage relationships with mid-level pro bono supporters, taking them through the full pro bono journey from project matching and onboarding through to stewardship and ongoing support.

This is a cross-functional role that collaborates closely with the Investment team, wider Philanthropy team, Public Affairs team and other stakeholders to ensure a consistent and excellent donor experience.

Key responsibilities

Volunteering programme  

• Account manage relationships linked to volunteering across corporates, individuals and grant-making trusts, ensuring engagement is maintained and escalating strategic issues or risks where appropriate.
• Support or lead meetings, alongside fundraising account managers where appropriate, with funders to understand their volunteering interests and contribute to the development of suitable engagement opportunities.
• Support account managers in ensuring consistent donor engagement throughout annual giving cycles, including tracking, reporting, and communications.
• Contribute to the development of the volunteering function to ensure the programme offers a range of high-quality opportunities suitable for different funder types and aligned to organisational priorities.
• Identify and suggest new volunteering opportunities based on charity needs and funder interests, working with the Head of Engagement to ensure strategic alignment across the programme.
• Lead delivery of the mentoring programme within agreed plans and frameworks.

Pro Bono programme 

• Support the identification, prospecting and conversion of new pro bono supporters, aligned with the needs of portfolio charities and Impetus, including attending meetings with prospective supporters.
• Manage relationships with mid-level pro bono funders, supporting delivery across the full engagement process from identifying suitable projects and matching opportunities through to onboarding, delivery and stewardship.
• Work with the Head of Engagement, internal teams and charity partners to scope projects and support matching pro bono funders to suitable opportunities.
• Support the onboarding and ongoing management of pro bono partners, ensuring clear communication and a high-quality supporter experience.

• Experience of delivering or managing successful engagement, volunteering or fundraising activities, including tracking performance against objectives or KPIs.
• Familiarity with the fundraising landscape, including a good understanding of the corporate donor marketplace.
• Strong account management experience, including managing external partners or funders and building effective relationships across internal teams.

Purpose of the Job 

 

Focusing on building and maintaining the charity brand identity, through execution of marketing initiatives that grow brand engagement, understanding and participation. Leading integrated campaigns and identifying marketing activities that meet strategic objectives and income targets. Ensuring that marketing plans are effective in reaching multiple target audiences. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of and brand and campaign activities across the full mix of marketing channels, appropriate to the target audience

• Manage and develop two direct reports, and a team of 6

• Responsibility for the charity brand guidelines for visual identity, messaging, and tone, to ensure consistency across the charity and marketing materials

• Maintenance and optimisation of the brand ambassador programme across the charity, ensuring engagement, understanding and accurate adoption of brand material

• Supporting the integrated strategy and planning of the annual marketing calendar to maximise and prioritise opportunities across multiple channels and audiences

• Lead the major fundraising and event campaigns, working alongside stakeholders to ensure campaigns meet income targets

• Engagement and collaboration with network partners nationwide to support their marketing needs, with communications and toolkits

• In collaboration with the Head of Volunteering, advise and deliver activities that support the acquisition, engagement and retention of volunteers

• Creation of clear briefs that support the management of external creative agencies and/or inhouse designers, to ensure assets and materials are compelling and on brand

• Work hand in hand with Senior Digital Marketing Manager to create cohesive marketing plans that deliver results through applied learnings

• Measure and report on campaign performance using analytic tools and processes that provide actionable insights and recommendations for optimisation of marketing activity

• Manage campaign budgets, ensuring effective allocation of resources to maximise return on investment

 

Essential Criteria 

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field. Or significant experience in a similar role within the not-for-profit sector
• Proven experience of working in the charity sector on brand, fundraising and marketing campaigns, with a strong understanding of marketing tools and strategies
• Experience of leading a team within a brand and campaign role
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with team members and key stakeholders
• Experience in thinking strategically, to create  marketing plans and briefs that deliver to organisational goals
• Campaign management experience, including management of multiple stakeholders, planning, budgeting, and evaluation with the ability of managing conflicting demands and needs of key stakeholders

About the Role

We are looking for a Chief Operations Officer to lead the operations team, join the management team and support the CEO. Your priorities will be to oversee all fundraising, including campaigns, major donors and grant applications. You will oversee the HR of the organisation, including recruitment and disciplinaries. In partnership with the CEO and finance officer you will be jointly responsible for finance within the organisation. You will manage the facilities manager and administrator, ensuring that processes are followed appropriately and the building is maintained in good condition, ensuring we fulfil all legal requirements.

About You

You will be a senior manager who has energy and drive as well as sound judgement. On top of a strong track record in an operational position, you will have the breadth of experience to lead HR and systems, finance, monitoring and evaluation and fundraising. You will have experience in fundraising and funder management and be able to lead on making funding applications and reporting to funders. You will be a clear, analytical thinker who will strengthen the leadership of our charity. You will be an excellent manager of people. Finally, you will be excited about working in an organisation with a unique mission that strives to make a difference in the lives of some of the most disadvantaged young people in London.
