About the role  

It’s an exciting and important time for our charity as we work to help more people out of homelessness and poverty as part of an ambitious strategy. 

The newly created role of Federation Development Lead will sit within the Partnerships and Federation Development directorate, to support the delivery of key charity and federation-wide objectives, as part of our mission to empower people affected by homelessness and poverty to change their lives for the better while using our voice to achieve social change. 

The principal responsibility will be to support our ambition to become a best practice national body, responsible for leading on and supporting the development of key projects within Emmaus UK and the wider federation.

This will include providing leadership to support Emmaus communities across the UK to prepare and respond to the introduction of the Supported Housing (Regulatory Oversight) Act, you will require an understanding and commitment to best practice and legislative requirements related to the provision of supported housing, with the ability to translate regulatory requirements into user friendly support, training, guidance and policies and procedures

The role will also provide a critical role in the implementation and delivery of Emmaus UK’s ambitious plans to seek registration as a provider of social housing. You will provide the project management and technical skills required to support the successful delivery of the application process, ensuring that risk and regulatory requirements are considered and acted upon at each stage, maintaining strong communication with key stakeholders externally and across the federation.

As the Federation Development Lead, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the growth and development of the Emmaus movement within the UK, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement, and supporting the overall success of the federation. Your role will involve supporting the development and delivery of strategic plans, programme design and implementation, stakeholder management, and continuous evaluation and improvement of developed initiatives.

Working with the Director of Partnerships and Federation Development and wider Senior Leadership Team, the role will be central to the delivery of strategic objectives related to the development of the movement.

DIRECTORATE PURPOSE

The Fundraising, Marketing and Communications directorate is responsible for:

• Income generation across trusts and foundations, corporates, major donors, community fundraising, public donations, and legacies, alongside relationships with commissioners and public sector funders.

• Partnership development, engaging businesses, philanthropists, trusts, and volunteers.

• Marketing of services and membership to families, adoptees, commissioners, and professionals in health, education, and social care.

• Awareness raising and thought leadership, ensuring adoption and permanence issues have a strong voice nationally.

Currently a team of six, the directorate has strong ambitions to grow in size and scope, with scope to re-imagine its structure to meet future needs.

THE ROLE

This is a career-defining opportunity to shape the future of fundraising, marketing and communications at a charity of national importance.

As Director of Fundraising, Marketing & Communications you will:

• Build unrestricted income in a competitive funding environment

• Lead the transformation of Adoption UK’s income model, scaling from £500k to £2m+ contribution (by 2030) to organisational income growth from a £4.2m baseline.

• Develop and deliver a bold, integrated fundraising, marketing, and communications strategy.

• Build Adoption UK’s brand and profile with families, adoptees, commissioners, policymakers, funders, and the wider public.

• Inspire, coach, and grow a talented team, embedding a culture of confidence, creativity, and innovation.

• Personally cultivate and steward high-value donor, corporate, and foundation relationships, working with the CEO, Board of Trustees, and ambassadors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership

• Lead the design and delivery of a multi-year fundraising, marketing, and communications strategy aligned to organisational priorities.

• Act as a cultural change leader, shifting from risk-averse to confident, outward-facing engagement.

• Contribute fully to the Senior Leadership Team, influencing strategy, governance, and financial planning.

Income Growth & Diversification

• Oversee all voluntary income streams – trusts, major donors, corporates, community/public fundraising, legacies – while also strengthening public sector and commissioning relationships.

• Oversee marketing and growth of membership as a core element of income and impact.

• Deliver long-term growth targets.

• Use and promote data-driven decision-making, supporter journeys, and digital fundraising/marketing effectively.

• Design and deliver a signature annual Showcase event, alongside new products such as a Giving Circle and Corporate Club, ensuring clear ROI and upgrade potential.

• Personally lead cultivation of transformational donor and partner relationships, supported by trustees, ambassadors, and patrons.

• Identify and test new funding streams and partnerships to diversify income and reduce risk.

Marketing & Communications

• Oversee a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy covering fundraising, membership, services, training, campaigns, and advocacy.

• Ensure a compelling and consistent case for support and brand identity across all channels.

• Raise Adoption UK’s national profile with media, commissioners, professionals, and the public.

• Lead digital transformation: CRM upgrade, supporter journeys, analytics, social media, and digital marketing.

• Manage media relations and reputation, including crisis communications alongside the CEO.

Team Leadership & Culture

• Lead, inspire, and grow a team of talented and motivated individuals.

External Engagement

• Act as a visible ambassador for Adoption UK with donors, corporates, trusts and foundations, policymakers, and media.

• In collaboration with the CEO and Chair, direct ambassadors and patrons to open doors, advocate, and steward transformational relationships.

• Represent Adoption UK externally at events, forums, and national platforms.

We were founded in Luton in 2012, and in 2024 following a generous grant from the Moondance Foundation we launched our work in Wales. So far, we have supported 20,000 Welsh students in a quarter of Welsh secondary schools. By 2029 we aim to be working in all state secondary schools across the country.

We are looking for a strategic lead to take our work in Wales to the next level. With oversight of our Wales Accelerator, the postholder will develop relationships with funders, media, government, and other key players to open doors for our work across Wales. You will listen and respond to local needs to direct our operational work on the ground.

Success in this role will be measured by our increased profile, new partnerships and income secured to ensure the long-term financial sustainability of our work in Wales.

We are flexible about whether this is a full-time or part-time position. The postholder will work closely with me and our Trustees, our key Advisors and Ambassadors (high-profile and well-connected individuals from a range of sectors), as well as our Head of Programme and delivery team for Wales. Akshaya Patra is one of the world’s largest school meals charities – nourishing 2.35 million children in India every day and now expanding our impact across the UK.

Our UK after-school programme, Empower Hour, provides hot, nutritious meals and targeted tuition to children growing up in poverty – extending the school day by 60 minutes to give them the fuel, support and enrichment they need to thrive.

To help lead this exciting phase of growth, we are seeking a Director of Finance and Operations – a senior leader who combines strong financial stewardship with operational leadership and is motivated by purpose as much as performance.

About the opportunity

As Head of Legal, Risk and Assurance, you'll lead three critical disciplines that form the backbone of trust, safety, and risk-informed decision-making at Alzheimer's Society. This is a people-focused leadership role within our Finance & Assurance directorate, overseeing professional teams delivering legal, risk management, and assurance services. You'll bring these areas together as one team, joining the dots to create real impact through compassionate, strategic leadership.

We're in the midst of an ambitious transformation programme, and you'll play a central role in ensuring this change is embedded effectively. Are you a highly effective communicator with proven success in raising five and six figure gifts from major donors? We are recruiting for a Senior Philanthropy Manager to join on a full-time basis, working 35 hours per week on a fixed-term contract for 12 months.

As Senior Philanthropy Manager you will lead on the management and delivery of our highly successful Insurance United Against Dementia (IUAD) campaign. You will work closely with an exceptional board of senior volunteers from the insurance industry to deliver the campaign strategy. You will lead on securing income from personal philanthropy and Trusts from within the industry, working closely with Board members on peer-to-peer advocacy.

In addition, the role has oversight and input to all IUAD campaign activities - including communications, events and corporate partnerships. You will lead on relationships with key IUAD board members to maximise fundraising opportunities and maintain their motivation and engagement in the campaign. This role will give you the chance to deliver meaningful impact on the lives of people affected by dementia.

This is a home-based role with occasional travel to London to attend meetings with colleagues or stakeholders, with travel costs paid for by the Society. Although this is a 12-month fixed term contract, we regularly recruit for roles in this area internally so there may be the opportunity to secure a permanent role during the contract duration.

About you
Joining us, you’ll have proven success in raising five and six figure gifts from major donors or equivalent. You’ll have experience of managing fundraising, engagement and stewardship strategies combined with the ability to identify and maximise funding opportunities to meet and exceed targets. You’ll also have good organisation skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyse financial information and present proposals in an accessible format.

Crucially for this role you’ll be an effective and engaging communicator with the ability to influence, negotiate and act diplomatically with senior stakeholders and high-level donors. Money Workshops are the core of what we do. Through these sessions, we reach over 40,000 people per year across the UK with our vital financial wellbeing messages. 

This offering is split between two areas of work: Workshops for children and young people (our Financial Education offer), and Sessions & Programmes for adults (what we call Financial Wellbeing Training). The Opportunity

Our Membership Platform supports the College membership functions to make a difference to the lives of over 3.6 million children taught by our members. It is used to track, manage and support our members to access their benefits.

We are recruiting a Ruby Developer within the Service Operations team to manage our membership platform and provide support to users who access it. During the contract you will:

• Monitor and resolve any issues arising with the platform.
• Manage and maintain the platform so it remains operational. 
• Work closely with the Head of Data and Digital to successfully transform and move the current data and services to a new platform built on Salesforce.
• Support membership operations with reporting, payment and refund requests.

This would be an ideal opportunity to work on a project to move our data and processes from a Ruby platform to Salesforce which will move the College’s processes forward to ensure a strong future. In this role you will: 

• have autonomy for maintaining and managing our existing membership platform;
• work collaboratively with many of the team across the business, supporting recruitment and retention of our members; and
• help to grow the professional membership organisation for the teaching profession and be  part of the team driving the organisation forward at an exciting time for the future of the College.

Platform Management and Maintenance

Most of the time, you will be managing the membership platform, fixing any bugs, keeping the server up to date, ensuring stability, and providing reports to various stakeholders within the College.  You will also provide support to the membership team with refund requests through GoCardless and Stripe.

Data and Process Transition

You will spend some of your time working with the Head of Data and Digital to move all relevant membership data and processes over to Salesforce.  This will entail preparing data in the correct format and providing support to move automated processes over to the new system.

Head of Branch – RSPCA Buckinghamshire South (RSPCA South Bucks)

Location: Home based, with regular travel across South Buckinghamshire
Contract: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Reporting to: Chair of the Board of Trustees

Reports: 8 (4 direct, 4 indirect)

Salary: Competitive, in line with charity sector benchmarks and experience

About Us

RSPCA Buckinghamshire South Branch was formed in 1964 to support the work of the national RSPCA and the owners of domestic animals in South Buckinghamshire. While we operate within the framework of the national RSPCA, we are a separately registered charity with our own governance and fundraising responsibilities. Our branch covers a wide area across South Buckinghamshire, including Chesham, Burnham, High Wycombe and Princes Risborough.

Our work is driven by the passion of dedicated volunteers and staff, and sustained through fundraising and the income from our two charity shops in Chesham and Burnham. As we look to the future, we are seeking an inspiring leader to guide our growth and ensure we continue to deliver sustainable, compassionate care for animals in need.

The Role

As our new Head of Branch, you will provide supportive and effective leadership across all aspects of the Branch’s work. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, you will:

• Contribute to the development and delivery of our long-term strategy.
• Ensure high standards in animal welfare services, adoption processes and community engagement.
• Oversee retail operations and help explore opportunities to expand our income streams.
• Support, motivate and manage our team of staff and volunteers.
• Act as the public face of the Branch, building partnerships and representing us in the community.

This is a hands-on, rewarding role where your leadership will directly improve the lives of animals and the communities we serve.

About You

We’re looking for a compassionate and resilient leader with:

• Experience in a senior leadership or management role within a charity, not-for-profit or mission-led organisation.
• Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, fundraising and income generation.
• Experience working with and inspiring both staff and volunteers.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders and balance multiple priorities.
• A passion for animal welfare and commitment to the values of the RSPCA.

Desirable experience: Governance and working with Trustees, generating income through charity retail and securing grants or sponsorships in the not-for-profit sector.
