Job description

As our most senior employed leader, you will hold overall executive responsibility for the charity, reporting
to the Chair / Co-Founder and Board of Trustees. Working with our founders and trustees, you will develop our organisational strategy and lead its delivery. You will have clear delegated authority to run the organisation, lead its senior team and make decisions within agreed budgets and priorities. Our founders will remain actively involved in the mission, relationships and future of AMC. You will build a strong partnership with them, bringing independent judgement, constructive challenge and the experience to turn ambition into results.

ANDYSMANCLUB | Executive Director
What you will lead:

Strategic leadership and organisational direction
Lead the development and delivery of AMC’s strategy with the founders and Board, grounded in the needs
of men, evidence of our impact and the resources available. Translate that strategy into clear
organisational priorities and annual plans. Make considered decisions about where we grow, what we
improve and what we stop.

Delivery, performance and innovation
Take overall accountability for delivering the agreed strategy and organisational plans. Set clear
outcomes, owners, milestones and measures across departments, monitor progress and act when
delivery falls behind. Assess new opportunities, develop business cases, oversee pilots and scale
successful approaches with the resources they need.

Leadership and accountability: Lead the senior leadership team and hold leaders accountable for their areas. Build a culture where people feel supported, understand what is expected and take responsibility for delivery. Address difficult
decisions and underperformance with fairness and confidence.

Financial sustainability: Own the charity’s financial strategy and overall performance. Work with our finance and income- generating teams to build reliable forecasts, develop sustainable income and ensure spending supports our priorities. Give the Board clear choices about investment, capacity and future commitments.

Organisational development: Review whether our structure, capabilities and systems are right for the next stage of AMC. Lead improvements that help a national organisation operate consistently while preserving the relationships,
accessibility and community spirit that make our groups work.

Safeguarding, quality and risk: Take executive responsibility for ensuring effective safeguarding, quality assurance and risk management across the charity. Ensure concerns reach the right people, action is followed through and the Board
receives timely information and assurance.

Partnerships and influence: Lead a coordinated approach to developing and sustaining strategic partnerships with businesses, public bodies, charities and communities. Work alongside the founders and relevant teams to represent AMC,
turn relationships into practical agreements and ensure partnerships deliver measurable value for the
mission.

Board partnership: Report to the Chair / Co-Founder and Board of Trustees on strategy, delivery, organisational performance, finances, impact and risk. Bring clear recommendations and difficult choices to trustees, escalate urgent
matters promptly and ensure Board decisions are implemented.
