Deputy Director

· Time commitment: Full time role (80 or 90 % could be considered for the right candidate)

1. Background and Purpose

The Deputy Director works in close partnership with the Executive Director (ED) to enhance the work of the small, dynamic secretariat team to create more momentum across its network. This new role will be instrumental in delivering on the strategic objectives and securing sustainable funding through its continued evolution. The person will be responsible for connecting the various programmatic areas of work quality assurance and impact, capacity support and its new country level work. They will guide planning processes to be able to track and analyse our impact. They will leverage the knowledge of the team to seek new opportunities for ensuring the Alliance delivers on its mission. They will be instrumental in developing and implementing long-term plans and processes that can bring new levels of success for the organisation.

2. Main Duties and Responsibilities

Guide and facilitate the team’s delivery of the CHS Alliance strategy:

· Work with the ED on delivering the strategy to position CHS Alliance as a network driving system change for greater accountability to people in crisis, creating relationships within teams and externally to influence change across the global humanitarian sector.

· Develop processes to support the team track progress on how we are meeting our objectives so they can be clearly communicated and analysed to continue to deliver on the ambitions of the Alliance’s strategy.

· Facilitate a strong culture of organisational collaboration to achieve goals and objectives; developing a framework that support the team’s cohesion in delivering the goals of the organisation to create greater impact.

· Provide oversight of the funding needs and priorities and support strong proposal development and compliance with donor funding and guide decisions on how to allocate and manage resources.

· Work closely with the ED, to establish and execute a fundraising plan to achieve the strategy and workplan of the CHS Alliance, including donor intelligence.

· Provide support to ensure staff can complete their responsibilities to their highest potential.

· Initiate programmes and activities that are resourced and effective and efficient as possible.

External partnerships & donor engagement:

· Stay abreast of emerging trends in the volatile context of humanitarian action and provide strategic thought leadership on the dynamic and shifting priorities and what it means for the Alliance network.

· Work closely with the ED to create a strong donor advocacy and engagement plan that goes beyond fundraising to work with donors as drivers of accountability.

· In coordination with the rest of the Alliance team, engage with external stakeholders to build and maintain relationships contributing to the CHS Alliance strategic objectives.

· Work closely across the teams to keep abreast of the Alliance members’ needs to meet the CHS commitments.

· Actively seek opportunities for partnerships to advance the CHS Alliance Strategic Plan (e.g. with members, academia, coordination bodies like the IASC, or other key stakeholders).

· Promote the CHS and the work of the CHS Alliance through relevant social media channels or platforms, through conference presentations and through workshops or other events.

· Represent CHS Alliance and its positions at meetings, speaking engagements or through opinion pieces. Assist the CHS Alliance to influence policy in the sector.

· Act as the public face of the CHS Alliance, along with the ED, to promote its mission and purpose.

3. Profile

4. Experience and Qualifications:

We are looking for a Welsh speaking Funding Officer to join our team in Wales.  This is a permanent, full-time post (open to a conversation on flexible working and job share) 

Depending on your location and preference, you will be based in either the Cardiff or Newtown office. You are welcome to be based in the office full time, or a combination of home and office working. • Assess requests for funding and manage grants using local knowledge, best practice, thematic expertise, and the experience of customers and stakeholders to improve our grant making and inform our decision making. By working closely with people and communities, you will understand what matters to them and where our funding can make the biggest difference.
• You will be responsible for supporting local people and communities in Ceredigion, and have a strong understanding of our vision, being able to adapt your approach to the wishes of the people you are working with.
• You’ll also need to support our stakeholders, helping them to make connections that will help them achieve their goals.
• You will be responsible for the pipeline of projects in Ceredigion, understanding and responding to the different needs of our customers by providing advice and considered feedback, and be willing to have challenging but constructive conversations.
• Funding Officers will ensure our grant management and assessment play an effective part in contributing to the Fund’s knowledge and learning as a grant maker.
• You will manage your own caseload, liaise with grant recipients, undertake project visits, identify and manage risk, supporting organisations to deliver their projects and measure their impact.

Thames Reach’s Outreach teams operate across London and helps those who are rough sleeping to find routes away from the street. The teams respond to referrals and work flexibly to reach London’s most vulnerable. Individuals are assessed to identify their support needs and support plans are created, including work to obtain identification, access health services and refer to other specialist agencies, including those with immigration issues.

We are looking for a Lead Worker  to join the Hillingdon Streat Outreach Team.

You will:

• Lead outreach shifts, providing a rapid response to referrals for people who are rough sleeping in the borough 
• Take a lead role within the team, working closely with support workers and assistant support workers to identify the quickest and most appropriate route off the street for people found rough sleeping, and devise plans to achieve this 
• Provide direct support to people who are found rough sleeping to enable them to move away from the streets and into accommodation 
• Work alongside partner agencies to ensure that clients are accessing appropriate support to access and sustain accommodation. 
• Represent the team at multi-agency meetings 
• Accurately record all work completed within given timeframes 

To succeed as the Lead Worker, you will have:

• A strong commitment to providing a high standard of service 
• Experience working with people who have rough slept or vulnerable adults and supporting them to access services 
• Excellent organisation and time management skills in order to remain strongly outcome focused, with the ability to coordinate a high number of cases and complete tasks promptly and efficiently.

The Communications Officer will be responsible for supporting the communications and digital team to maintain consistent and high-quality communications across our global membership, donors and external stakeholders. 

They will handle the day-to-day operations of our programme communications, website, social media platforms, member community forum, asset management, email marketing, and event communication, ensuring consistent messaging and branding.

The Communications Officer will report to the Communications Manager and will work closely with the Digital team to ensure success of both digital and traditional communications.

 KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Content development, publication, and dissemination

• Craft and edit compelling multimedia content for a global audience including news articles, press releases, blogs, videos, and case studies

• Adapt content for websites, social media, email campaigns, etc., ensuring each format is optimized for its specific audience and channel. 

• Plan and maintain the content calendar together with the Digital team to ensure consistent delivery and audience engagement.

• Maintain the organisation and accessibility of Start Network's digital assets. This includes maintaining our digital asset platform and keeping tabs on photos, videos, presentations, logos, and other creative materials from and for members, hubs, and the Start Network team.

COMMUNICATIONS PLATFORM MANAGEMENT 

• Support the management of Start Network’s social media channels and manage day-to-day engagement in close collaboration with the Digital team 

• Lead the management of the member community by posting weekly news and updates from across our programmes and lead on the production of email newsletters and e-marketing. 

• Support the management of digital platforms handled by the Communications and Digital team 

• Communication operations 

• Support the communications team meetings, including book diaries and setting up Zoom links when relevant. 

• Manage the communications inbox and ensure enquiries are dealt with swiftly.

The charity offers a flexible working environment, with hybrid working from their office in Leatherhead, Surrey.

In this unique and exciting new role you will lead, manage and deliver high-level effective campaigns within a commercial environment. · Plan, construct and execute paid campaigns for the charity. Optimising engaging campaigns across primary platforms including social media, SEM, SEO and display advertising as appropriate

· Create structured A/B tests and perform analysis to identify levers impacting channel performance. Use data-driven insights to continuously improve the ROI of campaigns

· Understand CRO techniques to improve conversion rates

Person Specification:

· Significant experience working in a similar role with large income and expenditure budgets

· A proven track record of successfully managing and leading on the development of digital marketing programmes in a large complex organisation.

· Deep understanding of digital marketing tactics and strategies to manage digital campaign budgets, optimisation of spending and maximising of ROI

· High level of technical skills and ability including use of marketing automation tools – ie. CRM systems, Google AdWords, SEO, analytics packages inc Google Analytics 4, and ad management platforms

· Ability to interpret data insights, conduct A/B testing and make data-driven decisions to optimise campaign effectiveness to achieve goals

The Role

As a Donkey Welfare Adviser, you will promote good welfare for donkeys and mules by working proactively to support, guide and educate key audiences and by sharing best practice.

Key responsibilities include:

About You

With a high level of equine knowledge and significant experience of working with equines, you will have practical knowledge of legal practicalities and experience of the application of relevant animal welfare legislation.

· An understanding of equine behaviour and able to demonstrate practical delivery of this in the field.

· Competent IT skills and conversant with IT hardware and software equipment – able to upload photographic and video images to support welfare cases.

· A natural and effective communicator able to connect with a variety of audiences in a variety of mediums, including presenting to small and large groups.

About you

To be successful in this role you will be a self-starter, flexible and have experience of working collaboratively as part of a team and with internal and external partners. You may have a background in adult safeguarding, drug or alcohol recovery services, mental health or housing support and have significant experience of working within a multidiscipline setting with the ability to create strong professional relationships and creative solutions. You will have experience of working with people who have faced severe and multiple exclusion and who may have complex needs; with an understanding of the needs of people who have been homeless for long periods of time. You will be willing and able to provide practical assistance with moving into and maintaining a home – including direct help where necessary with tasks such as shopping, budgeting, cooking, and cleaning. 

You will also have a knowledge of Housing First and Housing Led approaches and the ability to work within a psychologically informed approach.

Role Summary

The Resources Coordinator role sits within the learning content creation team, which is responsible for the devising, commissioning and delivering of high quality, film-focused learning opportunities. Main Responsibilities 

• To produce high quality, exciting and engaging resources for educators and young people, including commercial resources for film industry clients. 
• To contribute to the planning and evaluation of resources within our three key areas of work: Teaching with Film, Careers and Progression, and Filmmaking
• To project manage the resource process from initiation to publication or delivery.
• To assist the corporate partnerships team by contributing to pitches for educational resources with partners to support new film releases. 
• To contribute to the development of courses aimed at educators via our online learning platform.
• To evaluate resources, training, online materials and related areas of organisational interest through surveys, focus groups and other methods, to identify and implement changes and programme developments that meet Into Film’s and our audiences’ needs and priorities.
• To develop, with the rest of the team, reliable quality assurance processes and documentation for our resources, training and online programmes.
• To carry out external and internal training to a range of staff and stakeholders, including supporting internal staff with advice and information.
