Job description

This organisation supports anonymous recruitment. That means hiding your personal identifying information, removing bias from the hiring process.

The Drinkaware Trust looking for a creative and passionate Junior UX designer to join our team and help continue improving our digital products, resolve challenges and discover new opportunities This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the beginning of their career to learn rapidly within a small but motivated team.

Drinkaware is an independent UK wide alcohol education charity which exists to help reduce alcohol-related harm by helping people make better choices about their drinking. We do this by providing impartial, evidence-based information, advice and practical resources raising awareness of alcohol harms, and working in partnership with others to deliver relevant, personalised support through our tools and interventions

You will be working closely and collaboratively with colleagues from other Drinkaware teams and play a key role in further understanding our users by gathering feedback, and conducting user testing and interviews. You will analyse and process any findings, showing what our users need by creating user journeys and navigational prototypes, highlighting areas that could be improved. You will assist with safeguarding the appropriate application of the brand identity across the various digital products. You will be comfortable working and collaborating with external agencies helping to deliver outstanding products that match what our users need.

Please download and read the attached job description carefully before deciding to apply. This role is a permanent full-time role of 35 hours a week.

Drinkaware offers 28 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, a matched 5% pension scheme, life assurance cover, a range of discounted offers and perks, an Employee Assistance Programme, support for your professional development and a comfortable office in a great, central location near Moorgate and Liverpool Street stations. Please see our website careers page for more details.

To apply, please reviewed the attached job description and person specification and then submit your up-to-date CV with a personal statement of not more than 2 sides of A4 demonstrating how you meet the requirements. It is essential that you include a personal statement to fully demonstrate how you meet the person specification for this role. Submit your CV and personal statement by 5.00 pm on Monday 6 June.  Interviews will be held on 23 and 24 June and shortlisted candidates will be notified 20 June.  Please be aware that regrettably, due to the anticipated volume of applications, not all candidates will receive a response.  If you have not been contacted by us by June, please assume that you have not been shortlisted for an interview.

Please note that you must submit both your CV and a personal statement detailing how you meet the person specification requirements. Without both of these it is unlikely you will demonstrate the necessary skills, knowledge and experience needed for the shortlisting process.

Interviews will be held in person or via Teams or similar video call facility.

Location: UK Office (Moorgate, London) and home-based

Agency support is not required at this point.
