This work relies on having an advocacy team that can; (1) communicate and lobby in a clear, focused, and convincing manner, informed by high-quality and professional research; (2) can understand the dynamic international landscape on core human rights priorities and produce documentation and briefings on the organization's position; and (3) train and work with members to support their human rights advocacy at the regional and international level. The Advocacy and Research Officer will be instrumental in contributing to these areas.

Duties:

1. Advocate on behalf of Humanists International, by:
1.1. Drafting written and oral statements and submissions for the UN Human Rights Council;
1.2. Analyzing and summarizing complex legal / policy documents, such as International Conventions or UN reports, or jurisprudence at international courts and tribunals;
1.3. Undertaking research tasks and producing pieces of comprehensive legal research, and providing briefing or meeting notes for the Senior Advocacy Officer;
1.4. Representing and speaking on behalf of Humanists International at meetings of different sizes, including at the UN Human Rights Council;
1.5. Preparing and delivering presentations (often with the use of powerpoint);
1.6. Working with other civil society actors to lobby on common causes and mobilize on issues of concern;
1.7. Writing news stories for the website and contributing to the media output of the organization;
1.8. Undertaking administrative tasks to support the Senior Advocacy Officer in their work.

2. Supporting Humanists International's members in advocacy, by:
2.1. Developing and implementing trainings sessions for members and associates, including our annual UPR training, and others which leverage the expertise of the Advocacy and Research Officer;
2.2. Liaising with Humanists International members to enable and support them to make statements at the UN Human Rights Council, including with technical assistance;
2.3. Providing advocacy updates and briefings for Members and Associates;
2.4. Liaising with Humanists International members to use their knowledge and experience to feed into advocacy output;
2.5 Collaborating with the European Advocacy and Research Officer to forward advocacy priorities at European institutions.

Essential Criteria:

• Excellent understanding of, interest in, and demonstrable commitment to human rights and equality issues - particularly in the areas of freedom of religion or belief, gender equality and non-discrimination, reproductive and sexual rights, LGBTI+ rights, populism, democracy, and secularism. 
• Good knowledge and background in international human rights law, international law, or global justice. 
• Experience in the area of advocacy and/or of advocacy-related training. 
• Familiarity (academic and/or practical) with the international human rights systems, particularly the United Nations and any regional human rights bodies. 
• Good research, analytical and writing skills, and an excellent command of English.
• Well-organized, efficient and able to work independently. 
• A clear and convincing communicator. 

Desirable:

• Excellent understanding of, and sympathy with, the philosophy and policies of Humanists International. 
• A good knowledge of other international NGOs and their role and scope. 
• Knowledge of other languages (especially Spanish, French, or Arabic) would be an asset. 
• Prepared to travel, and do so alone, including to United Nations headquarters in Geneva and to Humanist International’s annual World Humanist Congress, as well as to London on a quarterly basis.

As education quality assurance service officer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, coordination, and continuous improvement of World Physiotherapy’s education quality assurance services, including programme accreditation and CPD recognition.

You will be one of the key points of contact for World Physiotherapy education quality assurance services including physiotherapist entry level programme accreditation and continuing professional development (CPD) recognition. The position is instrumental in assisting the smooth running of World Physiotherapy education quality assurance services and supporting the work of the Head of membership, education and development, and other staff working on the education portfolio.

You will use your experience, initiative, confidence, project and organisational skills to support effective implementation of the education quality assurance services. You will support and coordinate activities and administrative tasks for the full review cycle. These include managing inquiries, processing applications, distributing materials to reviewers, organising site visits, supporting the review and reporting process, preparing documentation for committee approval, and communication with applicants about the results of the review. This will require close liaison with staff, member organisations, reviewers, board/committee members, and external stakeholders.

Duties and key responsibilities

Education quality assurance service administration

• Act as a primary point of contact for all inquiries related to education quality assurance services including physiotherapist entry level programme accreditation and CPD recognition services.
• Manage the full application process, including intake, tracking, communication with applicants, assigning reviewers, and ensuring all required documentation is complete.
• Manage the annual reporting process
• Coordinate the distribution of applications and supporting materials to reviewers, ensuring timelines and procedures are followed.
• Organise and support site visits, including scheduling, logistics, documentation, and communication with applicants and reviewers.
• Support reviewers throughout the evaluation process, including preparing materials, responding to questions, and ensuring adherence to governance requirements.
• Provide administrative support to reviewers in preparation of documentation for internal and committee consideration.
• Organise accreditation committee meetings.
• Prepare materials for committee approval and minutes of the committee meetings, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to organisational standards.
• Communicate to applicants the final outcome of the quality assurance process and issue certificates
• Maintain accurate records, files, and data related to all quality assurance activities.
• Work with Head of membership, education and development to carry out activity analysis and assess ways to improve and scale up quality assurance services.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of quality assurance processes, tools, and resources.

Operational support

Manage the accreditation application and review process in the CRM (Salesforce) and CPD recognition in CEU Locker (platform currently used for the service).

Manage the data base of reviewers (eg declaration of interest, updated contact information).

Provide technical and logistical support across all education quality assurance operations for any physical or digital meetings.

Work with relevant staff to ensure that activities are set up on Teamwork® or other project management software and support their ongoing management.

Support communications activities:

• ensuring that lists of accredited programmes and approved CPD are up to date
• providing information to promote uptake of quality assurance services
• editing and formatting education quality assurance documents for house style

Liaise with different stakeholders including member organisations, regions, specialty groups and networks if necessary and as required by the Head of membership, education and development and other staff.

Maintain office systems and procedures, including data management and reporting.

Promote the image of World Physiotherapy in all activities and contribute to the overall development of the organisation undertaking any reasonable duties, as required and agreed, to support the work of World Physiotherapy.

Person specification

The education quality assurance service officer must have experience in supporting quality assurance management and administration. They must be highly organised, self-motivated and able to demonstrate initiative in managing complex and competing demands from different sources.

It is expected that the individual will have a relevant degree, or equivalent professional experience in quality assurance, education administration, project coordination, or related field. Experience of working with senior staff, academics and boards/committees is essential. Experience working with reviewers, review boards or academic/quality assurance processes is an asset.

The individual must have a legal right to work in the UK.

Ataxia UK is in an exciting phase of expansion in its Fundraising activity, specifically regarding investment in a Philanthropy function with a dedicated member of staff. In the past, High Net Worth Individuals (HNWI) have been managed reactively by the CEO and other Fundraising staff as opportunities have arisen. Ataxia UK (AUK) now wants to make a step change, in response to identified potential within the current fundraising landscape, towards strategic management of a pipeline of HNWI. About this role:

Reporting to the Head of Policy and Communications, the Policy and Communications Coordinator will support SIB’s track record of sector, government and media engagement, notably the high standard of publication set through its media partnerships with Tortoise and the Financial Times, its contributions to the policy landscape in the social sector, and its in-house data analysis and insight generation. This new post will contribute to SIB’s ongoing communications and public policy work and its reach and influence, building on a growing base of expertise across SIB’s three strategic priority areas: Green Transition, Infrastructure and Services.

Key responsibilities

1. Support the Head of Policy and Communications to deliver the Policy and Communications strategy for SIB.

2. Making use of media and parliamentary tracking software keep abreast of SIB’s strategic policy areas, sharing accessible updates and digests of relevant legislation and central and local government programming and media coverage.

3. Attend / watch online relevant parliamentary committees, All Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs) and Commons and Lords sessions, capturing relevant outcomes and identifying MPs and Lords that SIB should seek to work with / influence.

4. Support the Head of Policy and Communications to identify a key parliamentary contacts list. Create tailored communications for these key contacts which share relevant statistics and case studies from SIB’s portfolio, alongside policy influencing lines. This will include drafting questions and briefings where relevant, and ensuring that regular contact is maintained. 

5. Support the drafting of consultation responses and press releases using SIB’s core messaging, reporting, research and data.

6. Support SIB’s annual party conference attendance with coordination and administration in advance and in person.

7. Support the Head of Policy and Communications with attendance at influencing meetings and webinars with, for example, the Association of Decentralised Energy, Community Energy England, Locality, Better Society Capital, the Access Foundation and others.

8. Draft internal and external copy for newsletters and the SIB intranet and website.

9. Monitor the press email address and support correspondence with journalists on reactive and proactive stories.

10. Attend and provide oversight to the Social Investment Forum, as part of SIB’s secretariat and hosting.

The Role

Reporting to the Associate Director of Legal and Governance, the Legal and Governance Business Partner will lead on the provision of support to the charity’s staff and volunteers on all legal and governance matters.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Advising on legal issues relating to the charity’s activities, including reviewing a variety of contracts, such as fundraising contracts and contracts for goods and services.
• Advising on the legal aspects of tendering for commissioned services from NHS bodies and local authorities, including advising on procurement matters and NHS Model contracts.
• Advising on partnerships with other organisations to achieve the objects of the charity.
• Advising the CEO, Executive Directors and Trustees on governance matters, including charity law and company law; drafting policies, terms of reference and other governance documents, and correspondence with regulators.
• Maintaining the charity’s risk register and arranging appropriate insurance cover.

About You

You will have:

• A valid practising certificate as a solicitor/barrister and 4 years’ minimum post qualification experience, preferably including relevant experience advising not for profit organisations.
• A demonstrable interest in the charity sector.
• Good communication skills, and an ability to translate complex legal matters into easily understood legal advice.
• Excellent prioritisation skills.

Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease which is uncommon, complex and poorly understood. It affects the immune system and can cause lasting damage to the kidneys, skin, heart, lungs and/or brain. Our client is the only national charity supporting people living with lupus and those that care for them. They hold an ambition for a world where people with lupus can live full and active lives and work hard to empower people by providing information about lupus and offering support so their voices are heard and their condition diagnosed and managed effectively. With 35 years of service, the charity is now embarking on an ambitious new strategy, aiming to broaden and deepen its reach across the lupus community.  

Reporting up to the Health Information, Policy and Research Manager, your role will involve the scoping and mapping of the charity's current policy work, the policy landscape and potential opportunities, working collaboratively internally to develop a prioritised policy plan. You will ensure that the charity's policy work, and key updates in the policy landscape are effectively communicated with the lupus community, including producing and disseminating articles, press releases, social media posts, and other material as appropriate. You will provide regular organisation-wide briefings to ensure that colleagues are aware of key policy positions, arguments and evidence, and will develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including people with lived experience of lupus, other patient and advocacy organisations, clinicians and researchers, and government bodies.

Hygiene poverty is not being able to afford many of the everyday hygiene and personal grooming products most of us take for granted. The reality of low income is that it restricts people’s options, leaving us caught between being able to heat our homes, pay the rent, eat, or be clean.It is washing hair, bodies, faces and clothes in the same cheap washing up liquid used for the dishes. It is not being able to replace a toothbrush when needed or sharing a toothbrush because one each just isn't an option. It is having to choose between shaving foam and razors or the transport fare to a job interview. 

Hygiene Poverty is the hidden crisis facing the UK. In May 2024, The Hygiene Bank published their second groundbreaking research into the incidence and impact of hygiene poverty. It found that over 4.1 million adults across the country are currently experiencing hygiene poverty and that it is both alarmingly widespread, increasing and disproportionately impacts the most vulnerable. It stops people from participating in society, feeds the mental health crisis and blocks routes out of poverty. It is simply unjust.

About the role 

As our Partnership Officer, you will have the exciting opportunity to make a huge difference in improving the lives of people living in hygiene poverty.

Reporting into the Head of Brand and Corporate Partnerships, the Partnership Officer plays a pivotal role in the brand and corporate team and is responsible for supporting, stewarding, renewing, and growing our brand and corporate partners to meet our income targets and to source donated product for our service users. Our partners range from emerging brands to strategic corporate partners and reflect a combination of financial support, skills-based support, brand donations and volunteering.

The role is varied and requires outstanding relationship building and communication skills, strong time management, excellent written and verbal communication skills, meticulous record keeping and relationship management. You will be required to engage and influence a wide range of partner stakeholders, as well as collaborating across our teams to meet the needs of our partners.

• Coordinate and deliver engaging Lunch & Learn sessions for corporate and brand partners, both virtually and in person, speaking about hygiene poverty and the charity to engage potential partners

About the role

As Events Manager, you’ll lead Birmingham Hospice’s events programme end-to-end, combining strategic planning with hands-on delivery. You will:

• Act as the events lead within the Income Generation team, sharing insight and supporting colleagues across the charity

The Regional Fundraising & Partnership Officer (South East) will play a key role in growing income and building long-term supporter relationships.

Prospectus is recruiting for a Senior Trusts and Foundations Officer for a UK-based charity that provides free, confidential support to people who are grieving after the death of someone close to them.

This role is offered on a full-time permanent basis with a salary of £32,000 per annum. This is a remote role with occasional travel.

The Senior Trusts and Foundations Officer will be responsible for proactively securing and growing income from a large portfolio of charitable trusts and foundations, working collaboratively with funders and teams across the organisation to develop and submit compelling proposals. The postholder will ensure high quality applications focused on an agreed range of cases for support, funder reporting, and prospect research.

They are looking for someone with significant experience in successfully securing income from trusts and foundations including demonstrable experience of securing four and five figure grants. You will be experienced in managing a large portfolio of funders, with a high level of autonomy.
