Counsellor

We are seeking an experienced BACP accredited Counsellor to join our friendly counselling team at the UK’s leading support charity for people living with chronic kidney disease (CKD). You will provide professional psychological support to adults through a series of regular counselling sessions to help bring about effective change and improve client wellbeing.
Based remotely, or working in our office in Alton Hampshire, you will deliver sessions by telephone or online, working with clients facing challenging issues. We'll provide training to develop your knowledge of the impact of kidney disease as well as CPD opportunities, regular internal case reviews and shared learning sessions

Policy Officer-Wales
Based at home, situated across Wales including regular travel around the country and to the Senedd, Cardiff.
22.5 hrs per week

Are you passionate about influencing policy and driving change? Do you want to be part of a growing team making a real impact on the lives of people with kidney disease?
We’re looking for a Policy Officer – Wales to help shape policy, build relationships, and advocate for better support and care for kidney patients. In this brand-new role, you’ll work for Kidney Care UK and Kidney Wales, engaging with policymakers, healthcare professionals, and those affected by kidney disease.
You’ll spend time at the Senedd, building connections with local politicians and councillors, and ensuring the voices of kidney patients are heard loud and clear. With your knowledge of Welsh Government structures (or similar UK experience), you’ll help drive our campaigns and influence change.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop or participate in work programs and undertake projects to explore policy issues under the guidance of the Policy Director of Kidney Care UK and the Managing Director of Kidney Wales.
- Support the research, development and dissemination of policy positions in Wales.
- Work with other team members to deliver events/reports or campaigns as needed
- Keep up to date with the policy department and charity work to avoid duplication and ensure good communications with our colleagues.
- Contribute to the newly created All Wales Cross Party Group.
- Undertake desk-based research involving data collection and the synthesis of information from relevant sources.
- Seek out opportunities for communications and influencing in the Welsh parliament, including the need for a kidney group.

In this role you will be supporting the volunteering programme manager with the recruitment, retention and rewarding of volunteers. You will work closely with teams across the charity and take a proactive approach to expand volunteer opportunities and enhance engagement.
We are looking for someone who has experience of working with individual volunteers and volunteer groups. You will be highly organised, a confident communicator and have a passion for building volunteer communities.
You must have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for attending meetings and events. You will be required to attend some weekend events and monthly evening video calls with time off in Lieu available.

The Health data specialist will play a key role in our ambitious 2020-2030 strategy. We're seeking a passionate and detail-oriented individual who thrives on leveraging health data to drive positive change.
In this new role, you’ll ensure Kidney Research UK has access to and uses external health data effectively to provide high-quality evidence and insight to a wide audience and remains intelligence-led across all its operations.
The post-holder will deliver a core health data intelligence service, ensuring the Policy, Programmes and Communications Teams, along with the wider staff group, have access to a wide range of high-quality health analytics assets. The role will lead on delivering discrete pieces of original quantitative analysis, along with supporting analytics work led by other team members. The role will also involve supporting or leading the delivery of any required data analysis or health economics work, as required.
This will include the management of our health statistics sign-off process, reviewing other colleagues’ use of quantitative health data evidence for external-facing resources and leading on commissioned health economics projects.
A commitment to continuous learning and a collaborative spirit is key. You'll possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with experience in Microsoft 365 applications, ideally including Power BI, Excel, and SharePoint. Confidence querying databases is equally important, as is the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of data owners and stakeholders.
The ability to showcase insights through clear and informative visualisations - charts, tables, and dashboards - is essential for both internal and external audiences.

You will secure, manage and develop high level partnerships with new and existing partners. The role will be key within the philanthropy and partnerships team increasing income from corporates, a relatively new area for the charity, by developing exciting ways to engage businesses with our work.
The Philanthropy and Partnerships Team works with Kidney Research UK’s high value supporters, including individuals, ambassadors, trusts and partners. Our team also delivers inspiring events to fundraise, engage and cultivate new and existing donors. Our focus is on developing long term, strategic, value plus relationships with those who have significant capacity to financially support, influence, and open their networks to positively transform the lives of those affected by kidney disease.
You will be an excellent new relationship builder who has demonstrable experience of working with and raising money from corporate partners within the charity sector.
We operate a hybrid, flexible working style. The role is contracted to our Peterborough office and flexibility is required to attend events and meetings. The team come together in the office on a regular basis for in-person team meetings.
