Just a Drop is an international NGO working to bring safe water, sanitation and hygiene education to communities in need, transforming lives. Our projects have benefitted almost two million people across 32 countries since we began in 1998.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Internship in our Programmes Team based near Gillingham in Dorset. Consisting of three Programme Managers and a Head of Programmes, the JaD Programmes Team oversees all aspects of project design and delivery with nine partners in seven countries.

We are looking for someone who would like to build their skills and experience in the International Development Sector. You will support a number of functions from project management to monitoring and evaluation. The successful candidate will also gain exposure to all aspects of JaD’s award winning work in the WASH sector.

Role Overview

The Programmes Intern (PI) will work with four other programmes staff in the Programmes Team and will support the team by undertaking a range of activities concerned with all aspects of JaD project design, coordination, delivery, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) and formal reporting.  The PI will also interact with our team of Technical Advisers, as well as liaising with members of our Fundraising and Communications team, providing support in securing funding for approved projects and assisting in the flow of information on the delivery of JaD projects and programmes to external audiences.

There is flexibility for the person in this role to work  part time (three days a week for ten months or four days a week for seven and a half months) or full time (five days a week for six months). The Intern will receive payment of £12.21 per hour, as well as NI and pension contributions. They will be expected to attend our Programmes Office near Gillingham in Dorset one day a week, with the remaining days worked from home.

Personal Specification

• Degree-level qualification or higher in International Development, International Relations, Environment, Hydrology, Health or other related discipline.
• Demonstrable interest in the international development and/ or WASH sectors.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to take on a variety of new tasks and work on own initiative.
• Excellent IT skills and experience using all standard Microsoft programmes including familiarity with Teams, strong knowledge of Excel is desirable.
• Some experience of CRM platforms such as Salesforce is desirable

Service Delivery & Development

• Work closely with the Youth Work Manager and wider youth team in developing and delivering creative, inclusive and needs-led programmes, activities and services for young people that promote their wellbeing and enhance their life chances.
• Actively promote the meaningful participation of young people in shaping the ongoing development of Blend Youth Project service delivery.
• Work effectively across Blend sites and delivery locations in a range of contexts including: open drop-in sessions, alternative education provision, project-based delivery, community projects, detached work, 1:1 mentoring, residentials and school-based work.
• Function as the ‘Lead Worker’ within a variety of delivery contexts and conduct yourself as a role model in youth work practice, providing practice-based support to other staff/volunteers as required.

Strategic and operational planning and research

• Research and develop plans for fundraising from trusts, foundations, & philanthropists.  Collaborate with CEO, Board, and Development Councils to explore and equip opportunities to extend networks and relationships.
• Partnership working and development: Cultivate, secure and steward funding and relationships for HFHGB from major donors, high net worth individuals, trusts and foundations. Design and implement a programme of relationship development/stewardship and cultivation events.

Management and Reporting

• Develop oversight and reporting on development and delivery of Major Donor fundraising monitoring progress against key performance indicators.
• Maintaining the database of critical information (pipeline proposals, meetings, grants and donations. 

Leadership, networking and representation

• To develop a culture of support within the organisation. To lift others up and to give voice, agency and equity to all. Contribute to the Development Team, taking the lead on cross-organisational activities.
• Collaborate with the CEO to support/enable them to develop engagement with HFHGB.  Represent HFHGB externally at a senior level, building the organisational profile.

Skills and competencies:

• Extensive knowledge of trusts, foundations and high net worth individual fundraising best practice.
• Proven experience of raising 6 and 7 figure gifts from Trusts, Foundations and High Net Worth Individuals.
• Demonstrated success in developing and implementing strategic plans for high value donors/ trusts and foundations.
• A strong track record of overseeing prospect research, pipeline development and delivering growth.
• Extensive experience of producing high quality and compelling donor facing proposals, reports and other materials.
• Experience of fundraising management databases.
• Strong interpersonal and professional network development skills
• Engaging communications style for all stakeholders.
• Empowering and engaging line management style and approach.
• Excellent numeracy skills including experience of financial planning, budgeting, target setting and presenting detailed financial information.
• A self-starter with creative, entrepreneurial energy and confidence to take calculated risks with tenacity to manage setbacks.

We’re looking for a bold and caring professional to join us as a Wellbeing Coach for Children and Young People. If you have experience of supporting young people with their mental health and wellbeing, this could be the job for you!

You will deliver predominantly one to one wellbeing coaching with some group support to children and young people. Ideally you will have some experience of using coaching and CBT techniques such as guided self-help, psychoeducation and thought challenging.

You will have excellent communication skills and experience of working in partnership with other stakeholders to deliver projects. To excel in the role, you will be able to motivate, inspire and engage a wide range of people and be proactive in your approach. You will be calm, proactive and resilient.

We have a new and exciting opportunity for Band 6 Palliative Nurse Specialists to join the Access Community Nurse Specialist Team here at St Peter’s Hospice, Brentry.

The Access CNS Team work between 07:45 and 20:00, 7 days a week to manage the clinical Advice Line, taking calls from external healthcare professionals, patients and their families.

The team also triage urgent and self-referrals to the hospice and will be trialling a new, nurse led outpatient clinic from September, assessing patients who are well enough to attend an appointment in Brentry.

As a specialist nurse working at the forefront of the hospice, you will be a key resource, providing evidence based, contemporary support and advice. 

You will need knowledge and experience of palliative care, excellent communication skills, the ability to confidently and dynamically prioritise an unpredictable workload and a passion to continuously improve and develop.

Whilst working predominantly autonomously, you will have the support of the wider hospice team, regular clinical supervision and exposure to wider teaching and development of your skills/knowledge.

Working as a Palliative Access Community Nurse Specialist requires a core skill set
•  Holistic assessment via phone and face to face within our outpatient clinics
•  Problem solving, decision making, symptom control and prescribing advice
•  Advance care planning and completion of Respect plus    
•  Joint working / signposting with internal and external MDT

The team are currently trialling a mix of long and short shifts over 7 days.

Hours: We can offer either full (37.5) or part time (30) hours
Salary: £38,633 - £45,861 FTE, dependent on experience
Location: Office based at our Brentry site (BS10)

You will be given excellent support to develop your nursing skills into a specialist role. There are opportunities for professional development and specialist training in palliative care, including Physical Assessment and Clinical Reasoning and Independent Prescribing.

Community Action Network (CAN) is looking for a dynamic and collaborative Transformation Lead – Children & Young People to lead the next phase of our work with the Early Help Partnership (EHP) and Families First Programme (FFP) across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

This is a unique opportunity to build on the strong foundations we’ve already laid, bringing together voluntary and community sector (VCS) partners, supporting the development of Family Hubs, and embedding co-production at the heart of local reform.

In this role, you will:

• Coordinate strategic VCS involvement in the Early Help and Families First transformation.
• Strengthen relationships between the VCS and Family/Youth Hubs.
• Ensure young people and families help shape the services that support them.
• Lead communications and engagement across the partnership.
• Champion inclusion, amplify community voice, and promote the vital role of the VCS.

You’ll work closely with BCP Council and other statutory partners, ensuring the VCS is a visible and valued part of this multi-agency transformation.
