About Alongside:

Alongside is the new name for Julian House. We work with people experiencing social exclusion across the South and West of England, providing outreach, accommodation and support. Our clients may be sleeping rough, fleeing abuse, rebuilding after trauma, leaving prison, recovering from addiction, or trying to settle safely in a new community. Whatever their starting point, we work alongside people to help build safety, stability and independence.

If you’d like a real sense of job satisfaction, great career prospects and a competitive benefits package, you could be who we’re looking for!

About the Role:

As a Resettlement & Integration Support Worker, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping individuals and families begin a new chapter of their lives in South Gloucestershire. This is a truly rewarding opportunity where no two days are the same and where your work will have a meaningful, lasting impact. Every day, you’ll empower people, build confidence, and support them on their journey towards independence and belonging.

You’ll work closely with refugee individuals and families resettled through UK Government schemes such as UKRS and the Afghan Resettlement Scheme, providing personalised, client‑centred support tailored to each household’s needs. From helping people access healthcare, education, housing, and benefits, to supporting engagement in meaningful activities, you’ll be a trusted guide as families navigate their new life in the UK.

Through building strong, supportive relationships, you’ll equip people with the skills, knowledge, and encouragement they need to thrive independently. This is a role where your compassion, commitment, and dedication will directly shape positive futures and make a real difference within the local community.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Empower individuals and families by providing support that builds confidence and promotes independence.
  • Lead on multi-agency coordination, organising and facilitating meetings between families and professionals involved in their support to ensure everyone is working together effectively.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, ensuring high-quality case management and clear communication.
  • Help families access key services, including schools, language classes, suitable housing, healthcare and wellbeing support.

Please note: Job descriptions are not exhaustive, and the successful candidate may occasionally be asked to take on other duties that align with the key responsibilities outlined.

What we’re looking for:

  • A valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle – business insurance will be required for roles involving travel for work
  • Ability to communicate and engage effectively with individuals and families with diverse, specific, cultural and complex needs
  • Strong and clear understanding of confidentiality, professional boundaries and safeguarding

There are many great reasons to join our team!

  • Access to our Rewards Platform, which includes an Employee Assistance Programme and Health Cash Plan
  • 27 days annual leave, including an extra day off for your birthday, plus bank holidays - increasing up to 30 days after 4 years of continuous employment (pro rata for part-time staff)
  • 30% staff discount at our charity shops
  • A generous and competitive pension scheme
  • A supportive culture where staff feedback is highly valued and regular supervisions with line managers are conducted
  • Great opportunities for career development and free monthly training sessions from experienced facilitators
  • For all the fantastic and valuable work, you’ll be doing, you’ll be eligible for the Blue Light Card which offers amazing discounts on thousands of brands
  • Reflective Practice sessions from objective, external facilitators
