The Hepatitis C Trust has developed projects nationally whereby peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C, to provide education and training to service users and staff in drug and alcohol, hostel and homeless services, increasing hepatitis C awareness, access to testing and referral to treatment for people living with hepatitis C.

Working under the guidance of the Peer Programme Manager, this post will continue the development of the project, recruiting and coordinating peers across Cornwall.

Working in partnership with hepatitis C clinical teams, drug and alcohol services, homeless service providers, primary care and community pharmacies, and targeting marginalised and disadvantaged communities, the post will coordinate delivery of educational workshops, hepatitis C testing and harm reduction interventions to ensure that service users are referred and supported through hepatitis C treatment and care. 

This post will require extensive travel across the region and the post holder is required to hold a clean driving licence and have their own vehicle for work related travel.

It can be difficult to know where to start and what you are entitled to, but we are here to help them every step of the way. To assist us in this endeavour, we are looking for an experienced full-time Welfare and Benefits Information Lead.  You will assist clients in claiming welfare benefits, grants, and any financial aid that may be available to them. This includes informing them of any financial help available, supporting them with applications and following up on claim as necessary.  Where anyone has been given an end of life diagnosis you will be required to start the application on their behalf. In addition, you will also conduct financial wellbeing assessments in the community and schedule one-on-one application completion consultations with individuals who request your assistance.

This vital role will suit an enthusiastic and dynamic person who has excellent communication skills, being able to deal with complex matters effectively both verbally and in writing.  You will need to understand the issues involved in interviewing people within a time defined period. The ideal applicant will have emotional resilience to deal with people who have experienced cancer or bereavement. About the role 

Every woman who comes to a Smart Works centre is referred by another organisation or charity. Across the UK, over 400 organisations refer women to Smart Works, including job centres, refuges, prisons, work programme providers and other charities.

Without our referral partners, Smart Works would not be able to reach women in need and help them to succeed at interview and start a new chapter. Building and nurturing these partnerships is central to our work and success as a charity.

Based at our centre in Reading, you will work and travel across Berkshire to conduct outreach to ensure Smart Works receives consistent referrals and performs well against our ambitious targets to help more women year on year. in practice, this will include attending meetings with partners, organising events to showcase our service and managing all referral communications.

You will be part of the wider service delivery team in Reading, supporting on the running of the centre to the highest possible standard. This will enable you to understand and speak to the support available to unemployed women in Berkshire and what specifically Smart Works Reading can do to increase this support.

Smart Works Reading has an umbrella organisation, Smart Works Charity based in London, and there may be some infrequent travel to London. There will be liaison with the London team to support induction and training, plus participation in regular on-line meetings, phone calls and attending our annual conferences. 

Duties and responsibilities

Reporting to the Centre Manager, the successful candidate will lead a range of activities, including:

• Managing referral partner relationships across Berkshire, nurturing existing relationships and onboarding new partnerships
• Undertake research and creating project plans to set briefs or funding to engage referral partners
• Organise, deliver and attend events across Berkshire that increase referrals to Smart Works Reading
• Analyse and manage a robust database of current referral data and potential referral partners, to identify opportunities, priorities and share successes
• Share regular, engaging communications with referral partners
• Pilot new initiatives and ideas with referral partners to increase and maintain engagement
• Support the smooth running of the Reading centre, such as by answering calls and booking appointments

They are a relatively small and agile organisation who punch above their weight and have big ambitions.

This charity is dedicated to making life better for people with eczema and their families. In the UK, around 1 in 5 children and 1 in 10 adults live with eczema, so lots of people look to the charity for hope and support. Their mission is to empower people to live well with eczema, to become 'expert patients' supported by a charity that puts their needs first. Through growing their research, campaigning and awareness-raising, they are working to improve eczema care now and in the future.

Fundraising underpins all of the charity's work and is crucial to their success. As Fundraising Lead you will be responsible for driving donations and supporter engagement using personal, story-led communications.

We are looking for an experienced stakeholder engagement professional with exceptional people skills and a good understanding of nature recovery to help take ANT to our next level of impact by leading on landowner engagement for the Lower Chew Landscape Recovery project.

Job Purpose
Your legacy will be a tangible impact on slowing down climate change, helping nature recover and creating social impact by leading on landowner and stakeholder engagement for the Lower Chew Landscape Recovery project that will see thousands of acres of local land managed in harmony with nature. You will join a fast-growing organisation that started in 2019 with four volunteers and has grown to a staff team of thirteen (which will double over 2024), over 1,000 volunteers and ownership of 170 acres (soon to be 600 acres) of land that will grow woodlands of over 160,000 trees.

The project
Landscape Recovery is one of Defra’s three environmental land management schemes. Avon Needs Trees has been awarded development phase funding for Landscape Recovery in the Lower Chew. This is a unique opportunity to help co-design nature’s recovery and social impact at a landscape scale. The project will engage existing landowners and managers across over 867 hectares of land in the Lower Chew, an area where good quality but fragmented woodland provides a basis for woodland connectivity and large-scale woodland creation, as part of a mosaic of grassland and woodland habitat. This locally-cherished landscape of rolling farmland on the edge of Bristol is the strategic setting for delivering local environmental and social priorities. 

Main responsibilities
● Leading on stakeholder engagement for the landscape recovery project, including:
      ○ Designing and delivering engagement workshops
      ○ Gathering and baselining landowner data and existing farm practices
      ○ Ongoing landowner engagement
      ○ Collating and incorporating landowner feedback
      ○ Homeowner liaison with those living within or adjacent to the project site
    ○ Outreach, engagement and events, working alongside our Outreach and Communications staff
● Helping to write plans for ecological and social impact that will be delivered over the next 20-25 years
● Contributing to land management, monitoring and evaluation, and access planning, including:
      ○ Desk based analysis and research
      ○ On site appraisals and information gathering
      ○ Ecology appraisals
      ○ Carbon and soil surveys
      ○ Sensitive habitat / species assessment
      ○ Helping to identify social, economic and ecological impacts
● Being a strong advocate, internally and externally, for the landscape recovery project and the benefits it will deliver
● Work with the wider Avon Needs Trees team to help build a resilient, multi-site charity and undertake any other work necessary to pursue our aims
● As with all Avon Needs Trees roles, contributing to grant writing and fundraising activities
● Other duties and opportunities as required.
