The organisation is a grant-making charity, established in 2020. Our charitable aim is to transform young people’s mental health support in the UK.

Our vision is for a world where no young person is defined by their mental illness, and where they have access to the right support at the right time. We also want to strengthen organisations in the field and support the wider sector working to advance better mental health for young people. Our focus is on those young people who face particular need.

We award grants of approximately £8m a year. Grants are to youth, mental health and community charities working on the frontline with young people, universities and institutes to research better treatments for mental ill health and advocate for improvements. It is our intention to make a significant and long-term impact to young people in the UK.

Prospectus is proud to be working with the trust to recruit a new Grants Manager to join the team.

The role is offered on a full-time (minimum 0.8 FTE) basis with flexible working and the option of up to 25% of hours worked from home.

The role:
This is a key role at the organisation which will help bolster the capacity of our Grants Team. Reporting to the Head of Grants, the main purpose of the role will be to contribute to the smooth and efficient running of our grant-making activities.

This position would be ideal for someone taking their first step up into a Grants Manager role, with the successful candidate managing and monitoring a portfolio of grants and grant relationships from across our funded organisations, supporting the team with assessment of potential new grants, conducting research to inform future grant rounds, and carrying out day-to-day grants administration including via our Salesforce database.

The person:
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in grant-making in the charity sector, ideally having worked for a Trust, Foundation or Grant-making organisation which supports charities in the UK which strive to improve people’s lives.  This will have included experience of carrying out due diligence/charity analysis, grant monitoring, making funding recommendations and managing relationships with young people and stakeholders from a wide range of backgrounds. Exposure to youth mental health or a related field will be useful but not essential for the role.

This person will have exceptional levels of emotional maturity, discretion and diplomacy and will be an excellent communicator both verbally and in writing. An outstanding administrator with proven IT skills including MS Office, video conferencing and databases, this person will also have a keen eye for detail, the ability to multi-task and to plan ahead and to prioritise effectively. Whilst being able to process quite complex information easily, this person will be able to communicate simply and positively and will have a “can do” approach to their work. Experience of guiding and advising grant applicants will be important in addition to being responsive to others’ needs whilst being flexible and adaptable in a constantly evolving environment.

Bridges Outcomes Partnerships (BOP) is a not-for-profit social enterprise that works alongside Government, community groups and specialist Delivery partners to design and deliver vital services that support people to improve their lives, in areas ranging from housing and employment to education and health & wellbeing.

About the opportunity

As an Impact Analyst you will work within a team of skilled analysts. A key programme you will become an integral part of delivering will be a community based, preventative emotional resilience and wellbeing pilot called Turning Tides

Turning Tides is a two-year pilot programme testing innovative means of protecting and promoting the mental health and wellbeing of vulnerable young people along the North Yorkshire Coast. The programme leverages local organisations and their expertise, providing each young person a dedicated coach who works to identify a participant's strengths and ambitions – and takes a community-based asset development approach to match those goals with opportunities in the local area.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include.

· Overseeing all data related aspects of the programme including data collection, extraction, cleaning, analysis, reporting, and presentation.

· Gathering and analysing quantitative and qualitative data to measure the impact of service innovations for the programmes you are working across. Produce regular reports and insights that aid decision making to continuously improve programme design.

· Taking initiative to propose and implement relevant analyses to the project to maximise positive impact for participants with the programmes you are supporting.

· Building relationships and working at times directly with Delivery Partners (VCSE organisations who are delivering the frontline services for the programme) to ensure they are able to use the data systems accurately and effectively,

· Identifying opportunities for process automation and improving utilisation of management data by colleagues across the programme.

· Supporting the Programme Lead on all operational and project management needs, including coordination of team activities and providing other administrative support.

· Working with the Investment Lead and colleagues in Finance, to ensure invoices for outcomes achieved by participants within programmes are processed.

· Engaging with other analysts across BOP to share learnings from your own project and implement learnings from other projects in your own.

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Governance Officer to join our team and help ensure strong, effective governance across the organisation. This role is key to supporting the charity’s trustees and senior leadership team to meet their legal and regulatory responsibilities, and to uphold the highest standards of accountability and transparency.

Key Responsibilities

Board and Committee Support

• Coordinate meetings of the Board of Trustees and sub-committees, including scheduling, agenda planning, and circulation of papers.
• Take accurate and timely minutes and ensure appropriate follow-up actions are tracked and completed.
• Support trustee recruitment, induction, training, annual board effectiveness survey and skills review.
• Maintain trustees register of interests updating it annually or as and when needed, whichever is soonest.

About the Role:

We are seeking to expand our committed team of Programme Coordinators and Senior Coordinators who work directly with young people, supporting them to discover and achieve their best next step on their route to a successful career.

Our Coordinators work with young people studying in schools and colleges as well as young people who are currently unemployed or not in any form of training. Working closely with Careers Leads, Pastoral Support Workers and Referral Partners this role requires excellent relationship management skills to build trusted relationships with key stakeholders and young people as well as local construction and built environment employers who are fundamental to the successful delivery of inspiring world of work programmes.

About You

What we’re looking for in our new Coordinators(s) includes:

· Ideally educated to Level 3 (BTEC, A- Level, etc) or equivalent experience.

· Enthusiastic about connecting young people to opportunities, particularly those facing significant barriers to work.

· Have a ‘can-do’ attitude, as a small charity you will be expected to get involved in a variety of our programmes and activities – including development of our programmes and processes

About the Youth Endowment Fund

We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice. 

Last year, 244 people in England and Wales tragically died after being assaulted with a knife. Of these, 32 were children. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them. Even when violence doesn’t strike directly, we know that the fear of violence has a terrible effect on children’s lives.

The Youth Endowment Fund exists to try and permanently change things. To succeed, we must build an exceptional body of knowledge about violence affecting young people and how we reduce it. This knowledge has to be both rigorous and highly relevant to those making decisions about how to support vulnerable young people. We need to find out what works and what doesn’t through evidence synthesis, data analysis and qualitative research into children’s lives. We need to convert this into highly accessible content on what works, how delivery organisations need to change their practice and how the systems they operate in need to be reformed. We then need to work with the right people that can make change happen, across systems, policies and practice, to have a real impact on reducing violence affecting children’s lives.

Key Responsibilities

Deciding which projects, we should fund and evaluate is key, as is making sure we deliver our funding and evaluations to the highest standards. Our Programme Managers are responsible for identifying, assessing, funding and supporting programmes designed to prevent youth violence.

Programme Managers at YEF come from all walks of life. We look for individuals who may have experience in the youth sector, children’s social care, policing, criminal justice, education or how to involve local residents in making decisions about their own neighbourhoods.

As a Programme Manager at YEF, you will work very closely with our evaluation team to make sure we learn from what’s being implemented and that the organisations we fund are prepared and excited to work with us to find what works.

To achieve this, you will:

· Make sure we choose the best organisations to work with by assessing funding applications, critically appraising delivery plans and budgets, getting to know potential grantees and conducting site visits. These assessments will help you form recommendations to our senior leadership team about which opportunities to pursue.

· Work closely with grantees, external evaluators and our own evaluation team to ensure that the activity we are funding will be evaluable. This requires you to support and advise grantees on how to work in the context of an evaluation – usually, a randomised trial (you don’t have to have experience working on a randomised trial in the past, but it helps!).

· Build strong relationships with our grantees and provide them with ongoing management and support through the life of their funding. You will also be responsible for monitoring the performance of grantees and ensuring targets are met and any project risks are effectively mitigated.

· Think carefully about how we find the best projects to fund and evaluate, ensuring we can best find what works to keep children safe. To do this you might need to work with colleagues to spot where there has previously been a lack of evidence about what works (we will help you with this!). You would project manage these projects so they are excellently delivered – on time, within budget, and to a high standard. You will help to determine what our commissioning processes aim to achieve and design grant application processes to achieve it.

· You’ll manage our engagement with potential grantees to make sure we are attracting a diverse and promising portfolio of organisations to apply.

· Report to our team and external stakeholders regularly on how well the projects we are funding are going, spotting where grantees need support and coming up with how we can best provide that support.

· Represent the Youth Endowment Fund at external events, including reporting and presenting to our Grants and Evaluation Committee, who approve all our funding decisions.

About You

Two Rhythms is seeking a dynamic Business Manager to spearhead their operational and financial success, ensuring the charity's sustainability and growth. This pivotal role involves driving earned income, managing financial health, and expanding the reach of their therapeutic arts programs across South Wales and the UK.

The Business Manager will oversee the operational and financial management of the charity, ensuring the organisation is efficient, sustainable, and aligned with its mission. They will focus on earned income generation and working to increase it in line with the business plan. They will be outward-facing, generating new business with local authorities, care providers, schools, hospitals and hospices. They will work closely with the CEO, and Head of Programme to introduce the 2R programme to new guests across South Wales, and with the Membership Officer to extend our membership programme across the UK.

The Business Manager will play a crucial role in managing the charity's financial health, ensuring resources are effectively utilised to support its mission and goals. This hands-on role involves overseeing financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and compliance while supporting their leadership team colleagues with financial insights and strategies.

They will prepare reports for the management team, CEO and Trustees as required and they will liaise with our external accountants, helping to prepare annual accounts and other statutory documents.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

OPERATIONAL

1. Business and Operational Management:

• Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness across departments.
•  Design and implement new processes to monitor trading performance.
• To act a responsible point of contact for managing day-to-day facilities and building issues.
• Management of external contracts relating to facilities and running of the organisation. 
• Review environmental considerations of the organisation in-line with the requirements and policies of our funders, landlords and partner organisations.
• Support the administration of session bookings, liaising with finance and management colleagues.

2. Compliance and Governance:

You will have experience of managing risk and following case management procedures to meet the needs of the client group, with the ability to work with women to help them to understand their needs, risk assess, develop safety plan and support them in linking with other agencies.

Reporting to: Head of Services

Location: Home based with some travel across England, Scotland and Wales

Hours: Full time 37.5h per week, however part time working can be considered 

Contract Duration: 12-month fixed term in the first instance

About British Gas Energy Trust (BGET)

British Gas Energy Trust (BGET) is dedicated to supporting individuals and families across England, Scotland, and Wales who are struggling with energy debt and financial hardship. As part of our continued growth, this role will support the Head of Services – Grant Making in delivering essential services for the Trust and its colleagues.

Role Purpose: The Grant Operations Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the charity's grant giving functions.

Key responsibilities:

And will act as a daily point of contact between the Grant administrator & the Trust, ensuring the Head of Services is appropriately updated. 

• Build strong, transparent, appropriate relationships with British Gas and Centrica, and act as a liaison on a day-to-day basis with project teams.

• Identify, recognize & respond to issues or opportunities as they arise. 

Direct grant scheme: Debt Write Off & Financial Assistance Payments, White Goods & Money Advice - administration & monitoring:

• Support the Head of Services with the debt write off and all programmes including working with Third party contractors as appropriate.

• Work with the Head of Services to build strong relationships with Third Party administrator(s).

• Work closely with British Gas & other third-party contractors to understand their operational process for vulnerable customers, applications and referrals as well as any dependencies.

• Support BGET’s understanding of money and advice sector across England, Scotland and Wales, including sharing policy knowledge and sector developments within the 3 nations.
• Contribute to new initiatives with British Gas and grant giving programmes.

· Support the effective management of the Trust’s grant programmes across England, Scotland and Wales, including:

• Build & manage positive relationships with the grant assessment team and British Gas internal teams. 

• Providing appropriate support to ensure the direct grant programme runs efficiently and effectively, with grant funding distributed to budget and schedule.

• Undertaking both face to face and virtual monitoring visits of the helpline and application portal and assessment teams – including ongoing KPI and impact evaluation process, creating comprehensive follow-up reports including end of grant reports.

Reporting & Contract Management:

• Ensure all data collection aligned to current Data Protection regulations and use and storage of data is in line with the Trust’s own policies and provide reassurance to the Head of Services.

• Ensure accurate data is in place for year-end reporting, quarterly and including assisting Head of Services with quarterly and End of Year Board reporting.

 Reporting & Contract Management: 

• Identify risks to delivery and work with the grant administrator to help resolve any challenges with delivery that impact on the grant obligations.

• To work with internal and external monitoring and evaluation specialists, to gain impact and understanding of the effect of our funding schemes.

Knowledge Sharing

• Identify and develop opportunities to work collaboratively and share learning.

• Ensure case studies and other content is collated from grant recipients to share through our channels.

Please note the employee will be required to undertake any reasonable work or task requested by the Trust, this will include occasional travel, potentially overnight, in England, Scotland and Wales. 

Desirable Experience: 

• Experience of working with positive, equitable partnerships. 

• Experience in using Grant Management Software including reporting systems and dashboards.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively without compromising on quality or efficiency and be able to adapt to changing demands.

Skills and Knowledge: 
Essential: 

• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships 

• Accuracy and attention to detail with a methodical approach.

• Flexible approach to changing circumstances, prepared to re-order priorities as required.

• Practical “can do” approach with ability to manage multiple work streams. 

• Highly adept at Office 365 and Excel, technically confident in managing Grant Management systems. 

• Excellent analytical & numerical skills with the ability to interpret data and share insights. 

Desirable:

• AI & CRM experience.

• Stakeholder management experience. 
• Understanding of OFGEM WHD regulatory requirements.
