We are a UK-based international NGO with ambitious plans for growth. We work through local partners in East Africa to improve health and wellbeing in marginalised communities, focusing on reproductive health, and a one-health approach that also incorporates environmental protection.
We are a small but dedicated team, committed to a collaborative approach to partnership. We're currently going through an exciting period of transition and growth, with a new CEO in 2022, a new charitable structure in 2023, and registering of a new entity in Kenya in 2025. Our income is forecast to exceed £1 million in 2025. Your role will be vital in helping us achieve our future goals.
The Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will oversee all financial aspects of our UK and international operations. This is a critical role that ensures our financial stewardship is sound and our systems are effective.
Key responsibilities include:

Leading financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.

Ensuring timely and accurate bookkeeping and preparing monthly management accounts.

Preparing statutory accounts and managing the annual audit process.

Managing donor grants, including producing budgets for applications and preparing financial reports.

Providing financial capacity-building support to our in-country partners.
About You
You are a qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) with at least five years of experience in financial management, including some in the charity or NGO sector. You have a strong working knowledge of UK charity financial regulations and are proficient with accounting software, especially SAGE, and Microsoft Excel.
You are a proactive self-starter with excellent analytical and communication skills, able to work both independently and as part of a small, dynamic team. Most importantly, you are committed to CHASE Africa’s mission to improve health and wellbeing in East Africa.

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. In 2024 we embarked on our new 10-year strategy for ending homelessness. We know it is not inevitable. We know together we can end it.
Location: The role is primarily based at Crisis Skylight Brent (1-2 Bank Buildings, High St, NW10 4LT). This role will include some outreach and there is an expectation to travel across the wider Harlesden area and other parts of Brent to support individuals and meet relevant support agencies.

About you
- You have worked within a relevant sector that supports people e.g., homelessness, mental health, drug and alcohol treatment, social care, education and skills, youth work, community development
- You can demonstrate awareness of barriers to engagement and participation experienced by people facing homelessness or a future risk of homelessness and other forms of social exclusion with an understanding of how they might be overcome.
- You have experience of assessing presenting needs, and an understanding of strengths-based assessments and action planning. Empathy and understanding of the barriers to accessing services and support faced by homeless people including mental health issues, and awareness of ways to over-coming them, including planning and reviewing actions and goals, meeting client needs and priorities.
- You work collaboratively with the ability to build and manage successful relationships with external agencies and relevant service providers and successfully advocate on behalf of clients and strong interpersonal skills.
- You have experience of delivering high quality information, advice and guidance or coaching and managing a caseload within a relevant sector, holding a Level 3 Information, Advice and Guidance or coaching qualification or be willing to work towards one.
- You are able to effectively manage own workload, including a varied caseload, with excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities, exercise judgment under pressure and balance competing demands and willingness to reflect upon and develop own practice.

This role will work closely with the Director of Programmes and the wider Projects team to support the design and coordination of pilot projects that test bold, locally driven ideas across Theirworld’s three core pillars: Best Start in Life, A Safe Place to Learn, and Skills for the Future.

1) PROGRAMME DESIGN AND DELIVERY

Role Summary
As the HR Advisor at The Careers & Enterprise Company, you will report to the HR Manager and play a crucial role in supporting the business and wider HR team in a diverse HR generalist role that offers a great opportunity to grow and develop across a range of HR functions. You will cover a range of duties including providing HR advice and support to the business including line managers and employees, proactively helping to manage timely responses to internal and external enquiries to the HR shared inboxes, managing the monthly payroll and supporting with a range of administrative and reporting duties. You will also get to work directly with the HR Manager on the wider HR strategy including employee engagement, recruitment, systems and data analysis.
We are looking for a qualified HR Advisor or an HR professional that aligns with our company mission, who is ambitious and looking to progress their career in a new role. You will be pro-active and highly motivated, with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills that is comfortable interacting with staff at all levels. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and will be able to hit the ground running in this rewarding, busy and varied role.
We are a friendly team of three people that reports into the Director of HR and Operations and are looking for a true team player that has strong ethics, understands the confidential nature of working in an HR team coupled with a good understanding of HR processes and procedures.
Location: Central London/hybrid working with attendance in the office required 2 days per week.
Contract: Full-time, fixed term for one year.
