SLRA is a well established local migrant support organisation working alongside refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants who are at risk or in crisis due to immigration issues. The General Administrator role has been created to support with a variety of tasks, including calendar management for catchment meetings, which are hosted both in person and virtually, across the region.  In addition to logistical arrangements of these meetings, the successful applicant will support with all aspects of hosting, including minute taking.  The role will also  support the research, writing, collation and management of documents, for internal and external circulation.  Other tasks will include supporting with budgets, expenses and invoices, requiring confidence in dealing with numbers, spreadsheets and suppliers.

The role would suit an individual with a strong administration background, who is approachable and organised, has excellent attention to detail, able to work on their own or as part of a team.  It involves liaising  and following up with all teams, to ensure internal and external stakeholders are communicated to in a timely manner with relevant information.  This is an ideal position for someone with excellent Microsoft office skills, strong communication abilities and a genuine interest in making a positive impact.  It will cover a variety of duties and afford the successful applicant the opportunity to learn more about the work we do in restoring our natural environment.

As the External Engagement and Communications Officer, you will have the opportunity to play an important role in our mission to raise the profile of the Department’s work among audiences old and new, close to home and far afield.

You will work closely with the other members of the communications team, collaborating and leading on various existing projects and areas of work, as well as having the opportunity to propose and develop new initiatives and workstreams. Among these, contributing to our efforts to drive increased engagement and impact (especially through establishing connections with external stakeholders and industry partners) will be key, as will be working with colleagues to sustain and expand our events programme.

Previous experience of working successfully in a communications role is essential, and we have a strong preference for this to have been in a higher education or research context.

This is a terrific opportunity to take on a varied and flexible administration role in an organisation at a pivotal point of development that is growing to its next stage of maturity and have a material impact in the community. Some evening and weekend work may be involved, particularly for events. Key responsibilities

· To be responsible for a range of administration tasks that will support key charity functions at H&F Giving including fundraising, communications, events, grants and finance administration

· To support in delivering marketing and communications activities such as events and social media to key audiences, such as supporters, volunteers, corporate and non-profit partners

· To be the first point of contact for callers and visitors both over the phone and in person (when based in the office) including responding to queries from current and prospective supporters and grantees.

World Jewish Relief created the Specialist Training and Employment Programme (STEP) for refugees in 2016 and today we are the largest provider of specialist employment support to refugees in the UK.

STEP provides a bespoke employment programme that addresses the complex barriers that refugees face when preparing for, and ultimately finding work in the UK.   We now have an exciting opportunity for a female Employment Advisor with fluency in Dari/Farsi to work with predominantly women clients providing remote employment support to STEP clients across the UK.

You will prepare clients for competitive employment and help them to achieve their chosen training and employment objectives. You will work to a variety of performance targets based on the progression outcomes of clients such as successful completion of training courses, voluntary and work placements and achieving and sustaining paid employment.   

About you

We are looking for candidates who have:

• Experience in successfully supporting refugees into sustainable employment

• Understanding of the issues and challenges faced by unemployed people to finding work, including those whose first language is not English

• Fluent first-language skills in speaking Dari/Farsi 

• Experience of providing advice and guidance and supervising a caseload of clients

• Excellent communication skills

• Good IT skills (CRM database, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams) and the ability to work remotely with confidence

• Good business-level English, cross-cultural sensitivity and the ability to work with clients with varying levels of English

We are looking for a passionate and empathetic individual who has the skills, knowledge and experience in coordinating casework and undertaking reporting of data to stakeholders. The IPO will undertake and be responsible for a range of administrative functions to advance and simply casework flow under the Sub-Regional Immigration Advice Service (SIAS) project. The IPO must have the ability to communicate effectively with referring agencies and stakeholders on a regular basis. The IPO will organise and present data to funders and others on behalf of NKLC. The IPO would have a good general understanding of Legal Aid casework, and the regulatory obligations set by the SRA and IAA.

The IPO will work closely with the Immigration Supervising Solicitor (ISS), Director and general admin team to progress and maintain the SIAS project. The IPO will manage referrals, liaise with the immigration team, and undertake a variety of administrative functions to maintain and resolve associated issues within the immigration department. Where appropriate, the IPO will arrange appointments, attend triage sessions off-site and liaise with referring agencies to ensure that caseworkers can advance casework as efficiently as possible.

Whilst the post is open to all, we are particularly keen to attract candidates who are from backgrounds currently underrepresented by the law and who have experienced some of the issues many of our client’s face.

About the role

One of the core areas of CAST’s work is building the capacity of the social sector to respond to the rapid scale advances in AI. The evidence from the Charity Digital Skills Report; Joseph Rowntree's Grassroots and Nonprofits research and our own AI survey shows that charities are unlikely to benefit from - or respond to the challenges of - AI without intentional support and capacity building. To support charities’ (critical) adoption of AI we need to invest in supporting sector-experiments that create demonstrable impact (acting as showcases), working alongside the peer groups, charities and working groups to help move conversations into practical action.

To achieve that, we are looking to recruit a Head of Design for AI to focus on driving forward this work in a number of different ways:

• Blending expertise in AI technologies with human-centered design principles to foster innovation and inclusivity across the social sector;
• Providing direct support to organisations and specific product design advice;
• Designing a range of experiments and tools alongside the sector and CAST team;
• Supporting the design and development of specific programmes, training and interventions that will help shift the sector on AI

Whilst there is a lot of work underway and in the pipeline on AI this role will be expected to shape this work based on their deep experience and knowledge of AI and product design, and support the wider team at CAST to upskill in this area.

What you'll achieve

• Develop and execute a vision for the integration of AI into CAST’s design methodologies, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s mission and values.
• Alongside the Head of Technical AI Experiments, lead the design, development, and deployment of AI experiments, tools and resources tailored to the needs of the social sector;
• Working with the wider CAST team, contribute to the ongoing development of ethical design principles in AI applications, ensuring transparency, accessibility, and fairness in all outputs;
• Work closely with charities, community groups, funders, and tech partners to co-design AI solutions that address real-world challenges and drive meaningful outcomes;
• Support social sector organisations to develop the skills and resources needed to design and implement AI systems effectively, fostering confidence and innovation through both direct coaching and via networks;
• Stay ahead of developments in AI and design thinking, identifying opportunities to incorporate emerging trends and technologies into CAST’s initiatives;
• Support the wider CAST team in developing their knowledge and skills on AI and human-centred design, and how we can use AI to best effect within our own work;

Skills and capabilities required

• Demonstrated expertise in human-centered design, particularly in projects involving AI technologies or data-driven solutions; 
• Proven leadership experience in design and innovation, preferably within the social sector;
• Deep understanding of AI principles, including machine learning, natural language processing, and their design implications;
• Strong commitment to ethical design, accessibility, and inclusivity;
• Excellent collaboration and facilitation skills, with the ability to bring together diverse stakeholders to achieve shared goals;
• High levels of autonomy with extraordinary organisation and communication skills.
