About the role

We’re looking for an experienced videographer and photographer, with strong technical skills, to join our small but ambitious creative team. You’ll have a good understanding of how to capture stories and share voices in a creative and powerful way, while being able to take projects from concept to completion.

You’ll be motivated, driven and passionate about capturing the voices of children and young people with cancer and the work that we do at Young Lives vs Cancer. No two days will look the same, from photographing a fundraising event to capturing an interview with a family at one of our Homes from Home. We’re looking for someone who can make the most of any opportunity to gather content which could be used across social media, our website, in presentations and pitches or in printed materials.

The role-holder will also take responsibility for keeping our content library up to date and gathering and recording consent as they go. We need someone who is highly organised and able to manage their own time and diary – this is a varied and busy role which will work with many teams across the organisation.

What will I be doing?

No two days are the same at Young Lives vs Cancer. So, summarising your ‘day to day’ isn’t easy. Here are some of the main things you’ll be doing, but you’ll find more details in the job description.

• Working with the Brand and Creative Manager on incoming briefs from across the organisation and deliver creative solutions which fulfil objectives and consider audience
• Storyboarding and co-ordinating shoots while always prioritising the voices of children and young people with cancer and their families 
• Creating a wide range of high-quality audio and visual content that meets the needs of the organisation and harnesses the power of voice and storytelling 
• Supporting the social media team with regular post-production work on user-generated content for TikTok and Instagram (for example, editing, adding captions etc.) 
• Adhering to our brand guidelines and support the Brand and Creative Manager in continuing to evolve and apply our visual identity and tone of voice work to photography and videography projects

Supplementary Schools Support Officer

Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join Young Hammersmith & Fulham and support a five-year collaborative initiative between Young Hammersmith & Fulham and Young Ealing Foundation, focused on strengthening supplementary schools across both boroughs. The Supplementary Schools Support Officer will provide practical support to supplementary schools, helping to improve educational outcomes for young people from diverse communities, preserve cultural heritage and mother-tongue language education, and create a thriving network of supplementary schools that share best practices and resources.

Key Details

• Line Manager: Membership and Sector Development Manager
• Salary: £30,000 pro rata (16 hours per week - approximately £12,000 per annum)
• Location: Hybrid – Young H&F & YEF offices and flexible working across Hammersmith & Fulham and Ealing boroughs
• Hours: 16 hours per week, flexible working including evenings and weekends to accommodate supplementary schools' operating schedules
• Contract: Permanent (project funded until March 2030)

Key Responsibilities

Programme Management and Support

• Conduct regular site visits to supplementary schools across both boroughs (approximately 8 hours in each borough per week)
• Identify development needs of supplementary schools and connect them with relevant training and networking opportunities
• Support the grants programme, advising schools on applications and monitoring funded projects
• Facilitate termly network meetings to promote collaboration, information sharing, and professional development
• Organise training sessions based on identified needs, covering safeguarding, teaching methods, governance, and fundraising topics
• Plan and deliver an annual celebration and showcase event for all participating schools

Communication and Relationship Building

• Develop and maintain relationships with supplementary schools across both boroughs
• Create regular communications through a dedicated newsletter and online platforms

• Report to the joint steering group/strategic panel on progress and outcomes

About the Project

This is a five-year collaborative initiative between the Young Hammersmith & Fulham and the Young Ealing Foundation to support supplementary schools across both boroughs. The project has two main components:

1. A grants programme providing £50,000 annually (£25,000 per borough) to support supplementary schools, with an average grant of £3,000 per school.

2. A dedicated Supplementary Schools Support Officer working around 16 hours per week, who will offer practical support to schools.

The project aims to enhance the capacity and sustainability of supplementary schools, improve educational outcomes for young people from diverse communities, preserve cultural heritage and mother-tongue language education, foster a vibrant network of supplementary schools, and strengthen links between supplementary provision and mainstream education.

Opportunity to pioneer work with children of all ages within the local community at an exciting Community Hub. The Rising Generation Pastor will oversee a team of children's and youth workers, supporting them in offering a wide range of groups and events.

The Programme Coordinator is a new role within the Finding Rhythms team. Based on the success of the Making Waves programme over the last year, we now are in the process of expansion - with plans to increase delivery and engage more participants. The Programme Coordinator fulfills an essential role to support successful expansion of the programme whilst maintaining maximum impact for participants and partners.

● Processing a high volume of referrals of participants onto the programme, in a time-effective manner, ensuring all essential information is gathered and recorded

● Responding to general enquiries about the programme and distributing relevant information
● Encouraging participants to attend including identifying issues and providing solutions

OUTREACH AND COMMUNICATIONS
● Organising and attending outreach and taster sessions across multiple locations (some of which will take place in prisons)
● Being the main point of contact for participants and alumni, sending reminders and general information about upcoming events
● Supporting on organisation and coordination of Finding Rhythms events

About the Role

This is an exciting new role which will help the Methodist Church in Britain to embed in the life of churches its commitment to be justice-seeking. 

In 2024, the Church adopted a Strategy to embed the Methodist Conference’s Justice-Seeking Church Report in local churches, across the Connexional Team and throughout the life of Methodism.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Supervisor to join our dynamic team. Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Payroll Manager to ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll, including inputting and reconciling timesheets, calculating holiday pay, and updating payroll records.
• Support year-end activities such as PSA and P11D calculations and submissions, ensuring full compliance with HMRC regulations and internal policies.
• Manage pension contributions and submissions, ensuring accurate data uploads to pension portals and compliance with scheme rules and statutory requirements.
• Administer statutory and occupational sick pay in line with current legislation and company policies, with a strong understanding of Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) rules and accurate processing of sickness absences.
• Maintain payroll data integrity through regular system updates, data cleansing, and the implementation of necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy.
• Deliver a high level of service by responding promptly and professionally to payroll-related queries from employees and stakeholders.
• Partner with the Payroll Manager and Finance team on ad hoc projects, reconciliations, and process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
• Foster strong working relationships across departments to support seamless payroll operations and effective communication.
• Commit to working one additional day per month during payroll processing periods to meet operational demands.
• Provide cover for the Payroll Manager during periods of absence, contributing to the continuity of critical payroll cycles and strategic projects.

National Numeracy supports volunteers from our corporate partners to deliver sessions in primary schools
that inspire children to see the value of maths in the real world. The Programme enables volunteers to
directly support communities with low number confidence and skills, celebrating everyday maths, and
developing the building blocks of social mobility in areas of need.

The new Programmes Assistant will work with the Volunteering Manager and wider Programmes Team to
deliver this exciting Programme. The role will involve working with internal team members and external
partners to assist with delivery, including recruitment of volunteers and schools, training of volunteers,
resource delivery and preparation, feedback, data collection and associated admin. The Programmes
Assistant will be the first point of contact for volunteers, schools and partner organisations.

We are looking for someone who is flexible and able to respond to the fast-paced work around the busiest
periods of the year for the Programme. It’s not imperative that you come from the education or charity
sectors, or that you have held an equivalent role previously, as long as you can show us that you have
relevant transferable skills and an understanding of what it takes to be successful in this role.

National Numeracy is based in Falmer, just outside Brighton, but we are offering significant remote/hybrid
