Senior Research Advisor

The Role

Reporting to the Associate Director of Systems Engagement, the Senior Research Advisor will take the lead in translating the Association’s refreshed research strategy into action, shaping its implementation plan and designing the governance and delivery mechanisms needed to ensure its success. This includes evolving funding schemes, aligning internal systems and team capabilities, and scoping the future role in real-time quality improvement and implementation science.

This is a rare opportunity to influence a future-facing research and improvement agenda in a leading UK health charity. The Senior Research Advisor will act as a senior advisor and thought partner to the leadership team, bringing expertise in applied research, translational science, and funding strategy. You will play a central role in shaping credibility and influence as a system leader, ensuring the Association drives forward a culture of testing, learning, and scaling what works.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the development of a robust implementation plan for the Association’s refreshed research strategy, including the structures, processes, and partnerships needed for successful delivery.
• Redesigning funding schemes to support translational research, implementation, and real-world outcomes.
• Strengthening research governance and embedding QI and research into organisational strategy.
• Providing senior-level insight and support for the research and health systems insight and engagement teams.
• Positioning the Association as a visible and credible actor in stroke research and improvement.

You will have:

• A PhD and significant senior-level experience in health research leadership.
• Proven ability to develop research strategies and funding mechanisms that accelerate translation and implementation.
• Strong system leadership credentials, with a track record of influencing across sectors.
• Deep knowledge of stroke, cardiovascular disease or neuroscience.
• A confident and flexible approach to agile working, with the ability to thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Data Services, the Data Officer will meet data needs relating to the management and delivery of supporter and engagement products. You will work alongside three other Data Officers to assess, prioritise and provide solutions including the building of data selections and journeys for direct marketing purposes and the running of supporter data imports and exports.

Experience of using CRM Dynamics, Faststats and PeopleStage and or any Donor CRM for marketing purposes will make you a person of interest to us. JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the CEO, we are looking for an experienced charity finance person, with accountancy qualifications.  (CIMA,CIPFA, CCAB, ACCA, AAT etc)

This a pivotal role and the post holder will be a member of the Trust’s Senior Management Team, with responsibility for overseeing all aspects of the Trust’s finances, working closely with CEO and Board.

The role would suit someone who is motivated by the Trust’s purpose and who is good at building relationships.

Main responsibilities

· Alongside external accountant, manage the maintenance of the financial accounting system and monthly accounting processes (BACS runs, Expenses, Accruals, Prepayments, Deferred Income, Payroll etc)

· Review management accounts and liaise with accountants over variances.

· Lead on annual budget process

· Maintain and report on regular forecasts throughout the year

· Monitor individual programme funding to ensure all spend is within budget

· Lead on annual audit and creation of statutory accounts by external accountants.

· Distinguish between Restricted and Unrestricted funding to ensure compliance is met and classification is correct

About the role

We are seeking a technically capable, qualified accountant with strong knowledge of the Charities SORP to provide effective stewardship and oversight of the Finance function at Kinship. You will be responsible for financial controls, management accounting and ensuring the effective delivery of ‘business as usual’ financial management.

As well as producing monthly management accounts, you will be responsible for running the annual budget and the year-end processes, preparing for the yearly external audit and ensuring that the organisation complies with statutory obligations.

You will have excellent communication skills and will be able to organise conflicting priorities around the monthly management accounts cycle, while supporting the achievement of our strategic objectives. Reporting to the Head of Data Services, the CRM and Customer Data Lead will ensure that the charity get the most out of the CRM data so that it can deliver insight driven selections and segmentations for the whole organisation, supporting and collaborating with colleagues to reach and engage with customers in a compliant and customer-centred way.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Oversight and continuous improvement of CRM data.
• Selection analysis and visualisations that support product owners to have a deeper understanding of our customers.
• Lead on increasing the utilisation of selection and marketing automation products such as Apteco Faststats and Peoplestage to automate customer journeys.
• Oversight and continuous improvement of Third party and Internal Data imports and exports with a focus on increasing the knowledge and utilisation of the organisations ETL tools such as Blender to provide business continuity and consistent, clean data quality.

About You

You will have a proven record of:

• Managing, developing and using a CRM database to meet organisation needs.
• Change management projects to support an organisation in better use of data and insight.
• Designing, building and implementing customer segmentation and models.
• Customer and product journeys within a marketing automation environment.

This role requires some travel for team away days.

The Opportunity

The Director role is a new opportunity working across ImpactEd Evaluation. Our partnerships encompass education organisations such as charities, edtech organisations and government, and schools and multi-academy Trusts. Across all our partnerships, we aim to design and deliver high-quality research and evaluation projects that help our partners make better decisions for children using good evidence.

As a Director, you will be a senior leader of the evaluation practice and a statutory director on our Practice Board. Reflecting this, you will have a key role in the success of the practice, both commercially and in terms of social impact, and help to shape and deliver the strategy for ImpactEd Evaluation as a practice within ImpactEd Group, reporting to the Practice Lead.

The role will be a combination of business development, oversight and support of evaluation delivery, and strategic responsibilities. You will lead a number of sales and marketing campaigns, and support the design and delivery of our product offerings within those areas, as well as other priority strategic projects. You will also lead on a small number of high-priority partner engagements directly, and play a significant role in overseeing and quality assuring partnerships led by others.

The role would be ideal for a candidate with deep understanding of research and evaluation, a track record in business development, and the ambition to shape the leadership and direction of a growing social enterprise.
