Job Title: Finance Officer

Location: Belfast or Sligo (with responsibilities in both regions)

Salary: £28,000/€32,200 per annum pro rata

Role Brief:

The Rio Ferdinand Foundation are recruiting an experienced Finance Officer to oversee the financial monitoring and reporting of an  exciting new cross-border PEACE Academy programme in Belfast and Sligo, funded by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB) PEACEPLUS programme https://www.seupb.eu/

The aim of this new three-year programme, is to deliver and evidence a PEACE Academy pathway of engagement, learning, social action and employability that will inspire young people from communities in Northern Ireland and Ireland to create shared experiences and build a long-term response to sectarianism, racism and hate on a cross community and cross border basis.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role will:

§ Work with Director of Development and Programme Manager to implement appropriate financial processes around the programme.

§ Oversee all expenditure requests, in line with the Foundation’s Financial Controls Policy

§ Be the key point of contact for any finance related queries relating to the programme.

§ Track and monitor all expenditure for the programme, in line with agreed budgets and cashflow forecasts.

§ Collate and send the Director of Development monthly actuals reports reconciled against forecasts alerting them to any deviations from planned budgets.

§ Collate monthly invoices and expenditure receipts to share with the bookkeeping team ahead of monthly payment run deadlines.

§ Collate monthly timesheets, cross-reference for final sign off and send to payroll for processing ahead of the monthly deadline.

§ Ensure all programme expenditure is shared with the bookkeeping team for uploading to our accounting software Xero clearly marked to aid filing under the appropriate cost centre and category.

§ Oversee financial reporting and income draw down under the PEACE Academy programme.

§ Provide regular financial reports to the Programme Manager and Directors as required

§ Work with our Admin Officer on the financial administration of the programme.

Person Specification/Key skills:

§ Degree level education in finance/accounting or similar experience

§ At least two years finance officer experience

§ Experience of financial administration for complex projects working in multiple currencies.

§ Experience of third sector financial reporting for a range of funders

§ Experience of working on SEUPB PEACEPLUS programmes (desirable)

§ Ability to build positive working relationships with young people, community stakeholders, colleagues and partners

About the role

Opportunity to pioneer work with children of all ages within the local community at an exciting Community Hub. The Rising Generation Pastor will oversee a team of children's and youth workers, supporting them in offering a wide range of groups and events. 

Overall responsibilities include:

How are staff supported to work remotely?

• To prepare grants financial overviews in keeping with the agreed annual budget.
• To develop strong Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning frameworks, in collaboration with TCFF’s data agency.
• To develop and maintain a strong network of community partners, government agencies, and other relevant organisation to enhance synergies, increase TCFF visibility and credibility.
• To lead on planning and implementing visits to grant partners with the TCFF Communications’ team to capture TCFF’s work.
• To keep informed about developments in TCFF’s fields of work and collaborate with the Senior Project Manager on the strategic direction.
• To keep informed about government and other stakeholders’ best practices, research and legislation related to our fields of work.

Qualifications, skills and experience

Essential

• Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification/experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working in charity programme management.
• Solid experience in overseeing grant budgets and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning frameworks.
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed care principles and culturally responsive approaches to serving diverse populations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with beneficiaries, staff, volunteers, and community partners.
• Proven ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Team player with a flexible and collaborative attitude.
• To have or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS certificate.

What the job offers 

This is an exciting new post at our charity to take forward our Strategy to expand our service support and reach more people in need.  You’ll be responsible for recruiting and on-boarding a diverse team of volunteers who contribute to SLT’s programmes. You will provide regular supervision outside activities and work with staff to develop inclusive, consistent volunteering practices across the charity.

Communications Manager – Co-op Foundation  
£40,000 to £45,000 (Work Level 6B)

Remote, in this role you’ll work from home but will be required to come into our Manchester office a minimum of every 6 weeks for team days. This role will include occasional evening and weekend work. 
We’re looking for a Communications Manager to join us at the Co-op Foundation. 

The Co-op Foundation is the Co-op’s charity. We’re a grant making and campaigning organisation with a co-operative difference. We care deeply about how our funding and campaigning can shift power to young people and we trust our partners to do what matters most in their communities. 

As our Communications Manager, you’ll lead on the development and delivery of communications relating to funding programmes and learning and impact. It’ll be up to you to amplify and support the work of our funded partners, so we can expand and diversify the reach of our funding, promoting our distinctly co-operative approach to grant making so that we reach those most in need of support. You’ll have the opportunity to really get to know our partners, and help tell their story, and the amazing work that we do together.

What you’ll do 

• Develop, deliver and evaluate integrated communications plans for Foundation funding programmes 

• Lead the development, coordination, delivery and evaluation of a D,E&I workplan on behalf of the Comms team

• Collaborate with and manage delivery partners contracted to deliver comms for funding programmes 

• Produce content that brings to life the funding programmes, including videos, photoshoots, in depth case studies, blogs and more 

• Manage contracts and relationships with external agencies and delivery partners to support delivery of comms 

• Build relationships with relevant media outlets and journalists and be the main point of contact for PR relating to funding programmes 

• Work co-operatively with colleagues from the wider Comms team, Funding & Partnerships and Co-op Community & Comms teams 

• Forecast and manage the funds comms budget 

This role would suit people who have 

• Great communication skills, with the ability to write in an engaging way for different comms channels, in particular digital channels 

• Experience of working in a busy comms team in the charity sector, delivering multiple projects and campaigns at any one time 

• Experience of designing and delivering integrated comms campaigns, including internally to colleagues, with good knowledge of tools used for monitoring and evaluation 

• Experience of creating content and posting on social media channels and websites 

• Good knowledge of D,E&I (diversity, equality and inclusion) and how this applies in a communications context

Join Our Team!

As Healthcare Professional Education & Engagement Lead at Crohn's & Colitis UK, you will be integral in the development of healthcare professional online education and engagement networks in both primary and secondary care. You will also work on a variety of other healthcare professional projects. This is a role that is both fulfilling and challenging and requires travel to healthcare professional conferences. You will be supporting the Health Services Manager and liaising with both internal and external stakeholders, all with a view to improving the quality and the standards of health services for all people affected by Crohn's and Colitis.

Our location

We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. But one thing we have learned from the pandemic, is that we are able to work very effectively from home. In this role, there is plenty of scope for doing that, although there will be times when you will need to be at face-to-face meetings and the charity meets four times a year in the office at our mandatory 'All Staff Together' days.
