Youth Helpers work directly with young people in St John Ambulance Badger Setts and Cadet Units by supporting our Youth Leaders to deliver a sessions across our range of programmes. In this role, you'll support the learning and development of young people into the next generation of health citizens. Youth Helpers also help young people develop their confidence, teamwork skills, self-discipline, and generally encourage them to strive to be the best they can be, as well as supervise and support other adult volunteers in their team.

You’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction and pride delivering an essential service. It’s great for you, great for your community and great for our nation, and it requires only a small commitment of your time.

Overview

Julie’s Bicycle is seeking an outstanding Chair, Treasurer, and new Trustees to join our Board and help lead our pioneering not-for-profit organisation mobilising the arts and culture to take action on the climate, nature, and justice crisis.

Working closely with CEO and Founder Alison Tickell, Managing Director Laura Pando, and a committed team, our Board provides strategic vision, governance, and advocacy – championing the role of culture in creating a fair, sustainable future.

We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with experience in climate change, policy, diplomacy, or finance, and who share our commitment to justice, inclusion, and the power of culture to drive change.

Terms of Appointment

An initial three-year term. Board members may be re-appointed to the Board of Trustees up to a maximum of two terms.

Location

Hybrid. Board and Subcommittee meetings are held either in person (primarily in London or at venues across the UK) or remotely.

Remuneration

This is a voluntary, unpaid position. Reasonable expenses, such as travel costs, will be reimbursed where applicable.

Time Commitment

• Chair: 2-3 days per month
• Treasurer: 1-2 days per month
• Board members: 1-2 days per month

The VP's role is to aid the president with all of their responsibilities in overseeing the chapter. VP might help run the chapter and become responsible for some activities. They should make use of the Facebook groups to create an engaging atmosphere for members and chase lead volunteers to ensure they post on the page and group promptly following events. After each event they should make posts following up on it. Finally, they will liaise with photographers and assist with designing and running the website

A bit more information about this role and the team

Are you skilled with a camera? Do you enjoy taking pet photos? Then you might be who we are looking for! We’re seeking volunteers to take high-quality pictures of cats in our care to use for advertising on our website and social media. Experience of cats with different personalities and temperaments is beneficial, and this role will require some travel within our branch area.

What we need from you

You’ll be:

• Communicating with others to obtain photos and videos
• Organising photos and videos provided by others
• Capturing images of cats in care, cats we are helping, events and all things Cats Protection
• Ensuring that content meets with internal and external policies and guidelines

Time expectation

Our photo and video volunteers usually spend two to three hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

At present we are working to secure funding that will see us through our first year, and the role will be an important part of the organisation's growth and ability to obtain funding for the operational activities and start up for the organisation. Living Reasons is being created to fix what we think is a challenging situation that is getting harder to achieve every week, month and year in the current economic, political, environmental and societal landscape.
