About The Role
You will be working in a collaborative, fast-paced and creative environment and will play a key role within our Engagement Team to strengthen Youth Music’s relationships with individual givers. This role will focus on engaging individuals to support our mission, managing relationships with community supporters, and delivering strategies to enhance community fundraising and individual giving.

About You

You are a motivated and relationship-driven individual who is passionate about music and making a difference. You will have a strong ability to engage, motivate and influence prospective and existing individual givers, a strategic mindset for fundraising and supporter engagement, and excellent stewardship skills. Your ability to build lasting relationships with our donors and community fundraisers will be key to your success in this role.

Key Responsibilities 

• Create and execute a strategic plan for growing community fundraising and individual giving, and monitor and evaluate the impact of this.
• Take ownership of Youth Music’s guestlist donation initiative, securing gigs to add an optional donation in aid of Youth Music.
• Support the Philanthropy Lead in cultivating major donor relationships and co-investment opportunities with charitable trusts and foundations. 
• Support the Ambassador & Supporter Engagement Manager and Philanthropy Lead with administration of onboarding Youth Music advocates and Change Makers.
• Lead on the administration and organisation of community fundraising events/activities. You will support challenge event participants with their fundraising by liaising with them before and after events, ensuring they feel prepared and have the Youth Music resources they require.
• Work with the Communications Team to make the most of the exciting communications opportunities that exist in the run-up to, during and after fundraising activities and events - including helping to collect, create and distribute photos, videos, news stories, interviews and social media posts.
• Lead on Gifts in Wills and Legacy Giving.
• Manage our fundraising reconciliation, carefully producing donation reports and logging donor information on Salesforce.

Other roles will include supporting the Engagement team with an array of day-to-day tasks such as:

• Provide supporter care; taking and responding to supporter enquiries via phone, email or post.
• Work on securing gifts, raffle prizes and other sponsorship to elevate community events and fundraisers.
• Manage the fundraising enquiries inbox and be the first point of contact for receiving donations and giving advice on how to fundraise for Youth Music.
• Contribute to Youth Music’s media channels to promote and support campaigns and events.
• Update Salesforce with accurate information about all donations and fundraising activities, and support others in its training and use. 
• Ensure that all fundraising processes are compliant with GDPR regulations and Fundraising Regulator practice.
• Keep up to date with trends in community fundraising, corporate fundraising and charity events.
• Attend evening events as required, including potential travel and overnight stays. 
• Be proactive in identifying opportunities for learning and professional development to ensure excellence and continuous improvement.
• Represent Youth Music at events.

Person Specification

Minimum Criteria

• Two years experience of working in a fundraising/similar role.

Merchant Taylors’ School is a large Independent Boys’ School, situated in 280 acres of parkland in Northwood, Middlesex.  The School was founded in 1561, is owned by the Merchant Taylors’ Educational Trust and moved to its present site in 1933. Main duties and responsibilities:

Fundraising

· Developing and innovating the school’s regular giving programme, the Merchant Taylors’ Fund, to ensure a consistent income stream and increased participation from alumni, parents and friends.

· In conjunction with external consultants, running our (currently) biennial telephone fundraising campaigns and Giving Days.

· Liaising with school departments, clubs and societies to identify exciting projects to motivate supporters.

· Segmenting and targeting recipients for appeals to ensure the greatest impact and returns.

· Devising the strategy for promoting legacy giving as a means of supporting Merchant Taylors’, and to implement this strategy to increase the number of known legacy pledges to the school.

 Stewardship

· Establishing and running a comprehensive benefactor stewardship programme that thanks and stewards donors at all levels, including legacy pledges, through regular communication and events.

Reporting

· Reporting on progress against all objectives to the Development and Alumni Relations Sub-Committee of Governors.

· Where appropriate, working with the Development Executive (Events and Communications), to produce benefactor report publications and contribute to other Development publications.

· Ensuring that all contact with OMTs and parents is recorded on the Development Office’s database, the Raiser’s Edge.

SLOW is the only charity offering weekly in person and online support groups to bereaved parents and siblings in London and across the UK.

Based in London, SLOW (Surviving the Loss of Your World) has offered emotional and practical support for over eighteen years to bereaved families in the UK that have lost a child in any circumstances. Our unique approach to working with parents and siblings is highly regarded by our members and professionals and we are proud to have won the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.

Our work is centred around regular support groups for bereaved parents, adult siblings and creative workshops for bereaved younger siblings. All our groups are facilitated by trained bereaved parents or siblings. Our members regularly refer to our groups as a ‘lifeline’. Our model of bereavement support is unique and is a direct response to what bereaved parents have told us they need.

SLOW is a registered charity with an income of currently circa £185k. The charity has a stable resource base with a range of income sources – some annual, some on multi-year commitments and other funding resulting from planned and targeted approaches.

Key Responsibilities

• Under the leadership of the Charity Director, the Fundraiser will manage the day-to-day fundraising and support the Charity Director in raising funds and developing SLOW’s income to ensure financial stability. You will assist the Charity Director in achieving the annual income and suggest new revenue streams.
• Working closely with the Charity Director, you will manage, monitor and execute SLOW’s annual financial target through a variety of different revenue streams. You will be supported by SLOW’s Business Management Assistant.

Person Specification

Minimum Criteria

• Two years’ experience in a similar role. 
• Experience of raising five- and six-figure donations. 
• Deep knowledge of best practices in donor stewardship and fundraising compliance.

Other Essential Criteria

• In-depth understanding of major donor fundraising principles, including donor cultivation, stewardship and retention.
• Experience developing and delivering philanthropy programmes to increase income from major donors.
• Strong relationship management skills with the ability to engage, influence, and retain donors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including writing compelling funding proposals.
• Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and negotiation abilities.
• Familiarity with philanthropy research, donor pipeline management, and CRM systems.
• Awareness of grant application processes and requirements for charitable trust and foundations.
• Understanding of fundraising compliance, including data protection and UK regulations.
• Passionate about Youth Music’s mission and committed to achieving ambitious fundraising goals.
• Collaborative, inclusive, and proactive, with a commitment to equity and delivering impact through philanthropy.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience fundraising through legacies or corporate partnerships with a crossover to major donors.
• Strong network of high-net-worth individuals and/or charitable trusts and foundations in the UK.
• Experience in a youth or music-oriented organisation. 
• Understanding of the music education and/or music industries landscape.
• Passion for music and interest in its benefits for young people and society.

Oasis Hub Waterloo co-develops and co-delivers a wide range of integrated community services including a community centre, primary and secondary Academies, adult and further education opportunities, early years support, a Foodbank, advice services, a community farm, and well developed and diverse programmes for young people.

Purpose of job

This new role will lead on individual giving and events fundraising for Oasis Hub Waterloo with a focus on securing funds for Lambeth & Croydon Foodbank and our associated advice services. This will include developing our awareness and capacity to gain income from high-net-worth individuals, events and legacies.

Prospectus are excited to be working with our client to help them recruit for a Direct Marketing Manager (Retention) to join their team. The group is a unique and dynamic membership organisation which comprises 15 of the UK’s leading humanitarian agencies.

Since it was founded in 1963, the organisation has run over 78 fundraising appeals and raised more than £2.4 billion to help save lives and protect livelihoods in disaster-affected communities around the world.

This role is offered on a 3-year fixed contract basis paying a salary of £40,560 per annum with flexible hybrid working arrangements available at their London office.

The Direct Marketing Manager (Retention) is responsible for shaping and delivering new and existing supporter journeys for  individual, community and legacy donors, and leading a programme of improvement across all major contact points between the organisation and the public. They will work closely with the Head of Public Fundraising and relevant staff to develop and deliver direct marketing materials to provide updates and information on how donations are being spent. They will work with the Public Fundraising team to utilise a large database of supporters for communication by email, SMS, and direct mail. They will also oversee and support the delivery of materials that support community fundraising in appeals and a light touch legacy marketing programme.

They are looking for someone with demonstrable direct marketing experience with a focus on high volume donor acquisition. They are looking for a candidate with a demonstrable experience of direct marketing techniques such as direct mail, email and SMS. They are looking for someone with a demonstrable track record of developing effective digital and direct marketing strategies, which resulted in significant growth in income and retention of a charity’s individual supporters. The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of direct marketing initiatives that have successfully met targets at retaining or reactivating donors and experience of working within the international sector.
