Legacy Development Manager Jobs in Westminster, Greater London
Team Leader
Location:Aberfeldy Village
Salary: £34,680 per annum
Hours: Full time
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract
Introduction
The mission of our client is to invest in the local community in Aberfeldy, Tower Hamlet, backing local people to lead on exciting ways to make it a better place to live. The area is going through big changes, and they want to make sure that everyone in Aberfeldy can benefit from these. They want regeneration to bring real wins for the community, rather than passing people by. They believe the only way they can achieve this is by working together as a community to share ideas, skills and talents and take advantage of opportunities for them all to gain from.
Their vision is to build a strong and confident community. They have the following priorities:
• People: They will invest in their people to become active in local life, taking the lead on activities and events that bring people together and build community spirit. They will invest in their young people to have a brighter future
• Places: A community needs vibrant, authentic, and welcoming places for people to meet and mix. They will conserve and develop the places where they mix with their neighbours, build new relationships, and develop a sense of belonging to Aberfeldy
• Power: They will support Aberfeldy residents to influence the changes taking place in the area and make sure that the future benefits everybody. They will do this by connecting with local organisations, supporting them to build their capacity and developing the community’s voice to be heard on an equal footing with developers, the local council, and other agencies
Our client has been up and running since 2011. At that time, 150 areas were chosen to become a part of the scheme, each receiving £1m to be used by 2026, to invest in the area and community to help make it a better place to live and work, as the community decided. Areas were chosen because they were recognised as localities of need that had missed out on funding over many years. What makes them different to many other community programmes is that all decisions on how to invest this money are made directly by local people.
Purpose of the role:
To develop and deliver an integrated and effective programme of work in Aberfeldy, in line with the mission, vision and strategic plan developed by the our clients Resident Board, specifically:
• Further develop understanding of what activities, support and opportunities people in Aberfeldy see as important for their health and wellbeing.
• Further develop the ABL service to ensure it responds to what matters to the local community, working with members of the community to co-design, develop, deliver, commission and review resident-led activities and initiatives both in the ABL space and other local community venues.
• Develop the ABL space to be a place that fully lives up to the ambition of it being somewhere for people to go and feel welcome and comfortable, a space to which people will want to return and be a part of – a space for the community.
• Motivate, inspire, and lead the ABL team, volunteers, and sessional workers to deliver the service.
• Expand the reach of ABL and ensure members of the local community are aware of it, what’s its purpose is and what it offers.
• Manage the operational delivery of the service, including planning, scheduling, financial management, reporting.
• Pro-actively link in with the various colleagues at their Centre, including the Delivery Manager (line manager), colleagues in their Welcome Hub, the Impact team, the Income and Marketing team, the Finance team, and the Facilities and - IT team to optimise, share learning and obtain support.
• Manage the relationship with the ABL Residents Board, keeping them informed on a regular basis on progress, challenges, developments; support them to make decisions as and when required and make required adjustments to the plan as and when.
• Further develop relationships with relevant stakeholders, including, amongst others, other local community venues, other local delivery organisations, housing associations, faith groups, health professionals.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement by ensuring the team is engaged in the implementation and analysis of their outcomes framework.
• Demonstrate the value of ABL and share its learning and expertise with external audiences. This will involve working closely with the ABL board, the Local Trust Team, the wider team as well as other relevant stakeholders.
• Develop plans for the legacy of ABL beyond the funding.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented fundraiser to make a tangible difference to London’s landscape and its people.
Heritage of London Trust restores the buildings and monuments that tell the story of the city and the people who live within it. Founded over 40 years ago, our mission was to rescue characterful and neglected historic sites all across the city. We focus on sites at risk in areas of least investment - in local communities that most need our help - ensuring a sustainable future for every project we work on. To date, we have restored nearly 800 sites across London.
In 2020 we launched our ground-breaking Proud Places youth programme to inspire and engage young people with the world around them, helping them develop knowledge and skills now and for the future. We work with mainstream schools across London and are the only UK heritage organisation to specialise in working with excluded pupils, young people at risk of gang exploitation and young refugees. To date we have worked with 6,000 young people and the programme continues to expand.
As our programme work has grown, so has our team and investment into our fundraising capability. We are now looking for a dedicated fundraiser who will help us build on our relationship based fundraising activity to grow our income. The Head of Philanthropy is a new role reporting to the Chief Executive.
We have a great pipeline of corporate partners, opportunities with charitable foundations and attractive offers for our dedicated group of high-value supporters to experience our work up close. Our Board of Trustees are committed and well connected, many of them are generous personal donors. We steward our supporters through a series of high-quality events such as intimate lunches, VIP behind-the-scenes visits, site based workshops and expert-led conferences.
We are looking for a Head of Philanthropy who shares our ambition and drive and is excited to work closely with a dedicated and collaborative team while enjoying autonomy to build on our great work to date. Based in a vibrant newly developed impact-hub for charities who work with young people, this role will work in partnership with senior peers in communications and programmes, alongside a fundraising assistant and the Chief Executive, who herself was a professional fundraiser.
The role would be suited to an experienced relationship fundraiser looking to step up or into a role with exciting growth opportunities, or could suit an experienced relationship based sales or communication professional looking to pivot their career and make a positive social impact. Regardless of your background, with support and collaboration, this is an incredible opportunity to spread your professional wings and help drive our growth, reach and impact.
To learn more about this fantastic opportunity, please download the full appointment brief, where you will also find contact details of our talent consultant Ami Jenick, should you wish to have an informal and confidential conversation about the role.
We are seeking an experienced leader with a deep commitment to care, creativity, curiosity and inclusion to work closely with the Chief Executive of this vibrant social enterprise. The COO will oversee the company’s systems, finances and HR, and further build on our person-centred organisational culture.
At 64 Million Artists we believe that everyone is creative and that when we are creative we can make positive change in our lives and in the world around us. Over the last 10 years we have built a thriving business and a team of 11 working across the UK embedding creativity in communities, workplaces and universities. We have built an inclusive workplace culture of our own working a 4 day week and taking August off.
This role will lead our efforts to embed equity and inclusivity in everything we do, managing and supporting our team, our culture and our processes.
If you are passionate about the power of creativity, believe in building teams rooted in care and mutual support and can demonstrate how this belief can continually improve the way we work, then this could be the right role for you.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
