To be successful in this role, you will be a motivated, flexible individual, who is passionate about working with young people around their sexual health.

The postholder will conduct outreach, education, and training in several settings depending on the needs of different young people. These could be educational settings, youth settings, community events, sports settings, clubs and pubs. You will target vulnerable young people, such as looked-after children (LAC), those who are not in education, employment, or training (NEET), those who come from areas of high deprivation and high need, and those with other increased risk factors, as well as young people aged 13-15 who are not yet able to access online services.

As part of your frontline work, you will encourage young people to sign up for a C-card, and, if aged over 16, to register to Get it and order condoms and lube from the website. When appropriate, you will refer young people to appropriate local sexual health services for contraception, emergency contraception, pregnancy testing, STI screening and treatment.

You must be able to employ an appropriate and non-judgemental way of working with a variety of young people. You will welcome direction from the SWL Lead, as well as the broader team, but you will also be proactive in seeking new opportunities and mechanisms to deliver the scheme. With the support of your line manager, and with appropriate training, you will be responsible for safeguarding and child protection, ensuring young people under the age of 16 have been appropriately risk-assessed. You do not need to have existing sexual health knowledge to apply for this role, however, a desire and capacity to learn and to work in this field is essential.

Key Tasks

Quality Assurance

· Management of various stakeholder compliance schedules, which have been set up to facilitate timely reporting of required assurance data (including quarterly safeguarding report and bi-annual safeguarding audit).

· Responsible for collating data and writing reports required to for monthly, quarterly and annual quality reporting. This involves liaising with key personnel across several departments to ensure the data is received in good time in order to produce and publish reports to set schedules.

· Responsible for ensuring that various Hospice departments produce and share their required reports for appropriate sharing with stakeholders ahead of attendance at meetings as required.

· Support the Hospice Executive Management Team to respond to information requests in a timely manner and within regulatory bodies timescales.

· Managing Policy Reviews to a set schedule, ensuring that each Hospice Department reviews existing policies or produces new policies as required.

· Attendance at appropriate meetings such as internal Clinical Governance/Patient Safety Meetings and Contract, Quality and Performance Group Meetings with M&C ICB

· Maintenance of the Hospice Risk Register.

· Assist the incident reporting processes, supporting the investigation of incidents as required.

· Ensuring appropriate incident reporting to external stakeholders in a robust and timely manner.

· Liaise with external colleagues as required to feed into locality data collection, such as Hospice Collaborative and Hospice UK requirements.

· Managing patient and carer feedback processes, including working with the Hospice Patient and Carer Representative.

· Managing the Hospice Clinical Governance/Patient Safety Meeting. Setting up a meeting schedule, setting an agenda for the meeting. Ensuring minutes of the meeting are produced. Preparing a Quality Assurance Report for the meeting for discussion at the meeting.

· Supplying reports as requested for the Hospice Board of Trustee meetings.

· Managing the production of the Hospice annual Quality Account, ensuring that it is produced on time for presentation to stakeholders and then having the final version ready for publication at the end of June.

· Assisting the Controlled Drug Accountable Officer with appropriate reporting.

· Assisting the Registered Manager with appropriate notifications to the Care Quality Commission.

· Managing the collation, processing and maintenance of up-to-date patient data appropriate to facilitate external and internal reporting

Ensuring that the Hospice is familiar with the latest requirements from CQC in terms of evidencing Quality Statements and inspection processes. Assessing how the Hospice meets the Quality Statements and having the assessment of evidence of compliance available. Also ensuring that any gaps in evidence have action plans.

The Role

The British Dyslexia Association (BDA) is charity that represents the voice of people living with dyslexia. We aim to influence government and other institutions to promote a dyslexia friendly society that enables dyslexic people of all ages to reach their full potential.

This role will play a crucial part in the BDA. It ensures smooth operations, supporting the Head of Finance & Operations and the Finance Manager, in managing the day to day recording of financial information.  This will include accurate invoicing, debt management, and supplier coordination, supporting the charity’s financial health.

Location

Hybrid – this role is primarily home-based (UK), with requirement to travel to and work from our office in Bracknell (Berkshire) at least once a week, and as necessary. Travel is also required to attend team days, which typically take place twice a year.

Hours of work

Part time (14-15 hours per week). This could be arranged as either: 5 days per week at 3 hours per day, or 4 days per week at 3.5 hours per day. Working pattern can be discussed and agreed based on mutual preference and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial administration

• First line of contact for Finance telephone and e-mail inbox queries. 
• To assist in the smooth day to day running of the finance department.
• Set up new customer accounts/contacts and completing supplier forms/portals as required.
• Assist the Finance Manager in raising sales invoices.
• Ensure outstanding customer invoices are chased on an ongoing basis. Regular review of debtor balances with the Finance Manager or Head of Finance.
• Liaise with appropriate departments where necessary, to gather information and resolve problems and inform them of payments received.
• Undertake some absence cover for the Finance Manager, as required.
• Assist Finance Manager in set up of supplier accounts.

HR administration

• Assist the HR manager with recruitment administration, such as placing adverts on the BDA website, managing the recruitment inbox, arranging interviews, and sending standard letters.
• Provide some administrative support in relation to recruitment of volunteers.
• Support the HR Manager with a range of administrative duties, including recurring annual processes like home & office risk assessments and driver forms, as well as ad hoc tasks that may arise throughout the year.

General 

• Undertake some general administration to support the BDA, including opening and sorting mail and telephone reception duties. 
• Ensuring that the values and standards of the BDA are upheld in all internal and external projects, programmes, and communications. 

Skills and Qualifications:

Essential

• Recent and demonstrable experience in financial administration, including credit control, inbox management, and maintaining accurate financial records.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and correct errors.
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain clear records.
• Strong IT skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Discreet and professional when handling sensitive or confidential information.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with experience of liaising with supplies, internal colleagues, and external partners.
• Proactive and self-motivated, with a willingness to take initiative and work independently as well as well as part of a team.
• Self-disciplined with a friendly and diplomatic approach.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a small, busy team as well as across the wider organisation.

Desirable

• Experience using accounting software such as Xero or similar platforms.
• Working knowledge of stakeholder database management (e.g. CRM systems).
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience working within the charitable sector.
• Knowledge of dyslexia and/or neurodiversity.

Job Description:

We are looking for a highly competent individual to oversee the planning and delivery of our ambitious peatland restoration programme at RSPB Forsinard Flows Nature Reserve. Our work programme consists of delivering both future open hill and forest-to-bog peatland restoration projects, as well as assuring that we meet our monitoring and maintenance commitments of previous Peatland Action and Peatland Code projects.

Based at the RSPB Forsinard Flows Field Centre, you will be responsible for leading, managing and motivating our Peatland restoration team, comprising of two Peatland Restoration Project Officers and a pool of committed volunteers. You will work closely with RSPB’s wider Scottish Peatland Programme, and be supported by RSPB’s Project Management Framework to help you successfully delivering the outputs and objectives of the RSPB’s national Scotland Peatland Programme.

The successful candidate will be someone with a proven track record of team leadership and project management to manage this complex work programme, and deliver truly landscape scale habitat restoration.

Essentials skills, knowledge & experience:

• Qualification in a relevant subject or ability to show equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of peatland habitat, function and wildlife, to enable oversight of peatland restoration projects.
• Proven leadership and line management experience, with track record of managing people and delivering a high performing team.
• Proven experience of project management, including development, delivery, reporting and budget management.
• Ability to deliver deadline-driven projects, and manage both your own and team’s workloads to changing priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to persuade and influence a wide range of people, both internally and externally.
