As the Head of Sustainability you will lead Pride Cymru’s efforts to integrate sustainability principles and practices into all aspects of its operations and events. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to minimise environmental impact, promote social responsibility, and enhance the organisation's commitment to sustainability.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Lead efforts to minimise the environmental impact of Pride Cymru events and operations.

• Identify key sustainability priorities, targets, and performance indicators to measure progress and impact.

• Build and maintain partnerships with local organisations, businesses, government agencies, and community groups to advance sustainability initiatives and leverage resources.

• Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and sponsors to promote sustainable products, services, and practices.

• Lead by example and champion sustainability principles in decision-making, planning, and operations.

Skills and experience

• Proven experience in developing and implementing sustainability strategies and initiatives, preferably in the events or nonprofit sector.

• Strong knowledge of environmental issues, sustainability best practices, and relevant regulations and standards.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders.

• Passion for sustainability, social justice, and LGBTQ+ advocacy, with a commitment to advancing environmental stewardship and positive social change.

Beacon Counselling are looking for enthusiastic volunteer counsellors to deliver across children and young people’s services within the organisation.

The role will require you to deliver across our community counselling children and young people services.

About the role

After several years of relying on the efforts from our Co-Founders, Trustees and temporary volunteers we are looking to take the next step in our growth journey through the placement of our first longer-term volunteer.

This role will be designed to oversee all marketing and social media activities of the organization, and to provide leadership to a small group of wonderful and talented student volunteers from London based Universities as they complete tactical projects for ParaPride as part of their studies. This will also include supporting Daniele, our Co-Founder and Community Engagement Director, with planning and reporting of their activities to the university.

The leadership you will provide will initially be indirect, with Daniele being ultimately responsible for the students activities, so we expect this to be a wonderful opportunity for a seasoned marketing or social media professional who would like the opportunity to gain team leadership experience. 

Duties

• Advise on how to best grow overall awareness and success of the ParaPride brand.

• Oversee the continuous development of our content creation schedule and distribution of engaging, thought provoking and educational content for our media channels, notably LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

• Provide support and guidance to a small team of student volunteers to develop social media and marketing content that supports the mission, vision and values of ParaPride - directly participating in the creation of content at your discretion. 

• Ad-hoc creation and distribution of promotional assets for ParaPride events.

• Identify and establish potential additional media channels where it is sustainable to do so with the resources available. 

• Maintain the organisations Brand assets and monitor and advise of their use and ensure consistency with our established tone of voice in written content. 

• Build partnerships with social media brand ambassadors/influencers to support content creation and brand awareness.

Ideally we are looking for someone with 3+ years experience in marketing and/or social media. However, we encourage marketing graduates who can demonstrate strong alignment with our mission, vision and values.

Level of commitment

We are a growing charity and while it is our goal to provide financial compensation for this role in the future, we are unable to initially. In full transparency, this is only an indication of our ambition and will be dependent on a lot of factors linked to appropriate funding. MedEquip4Kids improves the health of babies and children in the UK by providing equipment not available from limited NHS resources. Outline: To support the Operations Manager in the logistics and planning, and safe delivery (in conjunction with any external bodies) of the Pride Event Day.

Organisational Context: Portsmouth Pride Trust is a registered charity that organises year- round community projects & events to benefit the LGBTQ+ community of Portsmouth and surrounding areas, including the flagship ‘Main Day’ pride event

Role Purpose: To support the strategy of Portsmouth Pride and the successful delivery of a diverse Main Day Event. To work closely with the Commercial Team to ensure that visitors to the event experience a strong, positive and inclusive Main Day Event.

Time Commitment: We expect that volunteers can commit an average of 4 hours per week to their role, spread throughout the year as required. Teams meet at varying times depending on other responsibilities with work, social and family, and this is often weekday evenings and be available for the Main Day Event and ideally a day either side.

Salary: This is a volunteer role, but expenses may be claimed for certain engagements as agreed with the Commercial Manager and in line with relevant finance policies.

Contract: Volunteers are not contracted to Portsmouth Pride but for continuity and due to the nature of the role, we would expect this role to be filled by the successful person until at least 1 year from date of appointment.

Location: We are based in Portsmouth, Hampshire but with most of our meetings taking place virtually, there is no requirement for the successful person to be based in Portsmouth, although local community knowledge is advantageous.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Pre Main Day

• Be the main point of contact for all stall and trader enquires.
• Review the stalls application forms and fees in collaboration with the Commercial Manager, to balance affordability for stall holders with essential income generation for Portsmouth Pride.
• Develop initiatives to reduce non-recyclable waste produced by traders and stall holders.
• Liaise with the Logistics Support Officer & Operations Manager to plan the location, number, types and grouping of stalls around the event site.
• Recruit stallholders, including following up stalls enquiries, contacting previous stall holders, and recruit additional stalls (food, drink, crafts, community, charity, and commercial) in order to achieve a diverse range and balance of stall types.
• Submit filtered list of stall holders to the CIO for review, before confirming with the stall holders that their pitch is in conjunction with the Commercial Manager, monitor stall holders’ documentation and payments, ensure any problems regarding stalls documents and/or payment are resolved quickly and efficiently, and all necessary documents are submitted to within the agreed timescale.Liaise with the Partnerships Manager to include any stalls agreed for event sponsors.Work alongside the Logistic Support Officer to co-ordinate the arrival and exit timings for all suppliers, stall holders and vendors for the main day.

On Main Day:

• Undertake the main event briefing to all volunteers in your area.Be the main point of contact for all stall and trader enquires.Assist in managing safe entry and exit of stall holders and their vehicles at the event, remaining on site throughout the event and its set up and break down to help address stall holder issues and queries, and monitoring removal of stalls and stalls’ waste.Assist with the stopping of the event if there is a safety risk to the public.GeneralEnsure work is completely to a high professional standard and in accordance with relevant policies and proceduresAttend appropriate meetings/events both virtually and in person (when required and safe to do so)Represent the organisational ethos and valuesCarry out any other reasonable duties as the role develops and as may be requested by the management/trustees.

We are looking for a volunteer with lived experience of Mental health to use their valuable insights to support other. This role aligns with the visions of Mind CHWF, The Wellbeing Network and Peer Pathway.

You will contact residents who have made a referral to the Wellbeing Network but are not eligible for our core service. This means that more people seeking support will be contacted, leaving less people facing their challenges alone. There will be a focus on supporting people most underserved by mainstream mental health services, including BAPOC & LGBTQ+ people.

We are looking for a Criminal Justice Volunteer (BME) to support our Bristol Community Service in Bristol. You will be based at St Pauls and, ideally, you will be able to commit one and a half hours per week to volunteering (14:30 to 16:00 on Tuesday's)

This group is a female only Black, Asian and minority ethnic criminal justice group aimed at women who have had experiences of racism in the criminal justice system. You will be facilitating the group and allowing the members to lead the conversation and speak about their experiences. Through facilitating the group, it is your responsibility to keep the conversation focused. You will also help the group to discuss changes that the members may want to see within the criminal justice system, and how this change can be implemented. Within this role, confidentiality is extremely important so you will be expected to share this value with the group.

About the role

We are looking for Digital Mapping Volunteers to support our Derbyshire Recovery and Peer Support & Living Well services and network.  You will be residing within Derbyshire community or surrounding area and, ideally, you will be able to commit up to 3 hours per week to volunteering.

The aim of our Community Mapping project is to provide easily accessible information on locations of other services, groups and community resources / assets available to our wider network.

You will work closely with a network of'nomad' volunteers across Derbyshire.  Nomad volunteers collect local grass roots information on support, points of interest and community assets available in the community were they live.  

As a Digital Mapping Volunteer, you will support other 'nomad' volunteers by updating the local information they collect on our digital Community Mental Health Support Map.

You will receive training and regular supervision to ensure you feel confident in your role.

Our Derbyshire services support people who are having difficulties with their mental health by offering targeted goal-focused support, developing peer support and volunteer opportunities across Derbyshire, and also peer support groups.

St. Luke's Hospice is here for our local community when and where they need us. As a Hospice we provide compassionate care and work to ensure equity of access to those in the communities we support, whose illnesses are no longer curable.

Role Details

• Salary: The role is unremunerated, but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
• Contract: Trustees are appointed to the Board which is renewable annually at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
• Time Commitment: There will usually be up to eleven meetings a year at 4-6 week intervals. Meetings are currently scheduled for Wednesdays and last for 2 hours. Board members are expected to attend at least eight meetings a year and actively contribute to discussions.
• Location: St. Luke's Hospice, Basildon and possible hybrid arrangements available.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with fellow Trustees and the Executive Team, to set and review strategic goals.
• Ensuring the hospice complies with its governing document, charity law, and any other relevant legislation or regulations.
• Attend Trustee meetings (in-person or remotely), which are approximately every 6 weeks and also represent the organisation at external events or other meetings.
• Being an ambassador for St. Luke’s Hospice, promoting its values and work within the wider community.
• Actively contributing to Board meetings and Sub-Committees with insight, perspective, and expertise.

An ability to communicate financial matters to a board encompassing a diverse range of experience would be welcomed. Formal CCAB or similar qualifications are welcomed but not essential. 

Along with taking on the role of the Chair of the Finance and Resource committee and carrying out the general duties of a trustee, we hope that the successful individual will be able to provide strategic guidance and support in the following areas:

Support U is a Reading based charity set up in 2010 to provide support to LGBTQ people in the Thames Valley.  Our small team runs social, emotional and wellbeing support and social groups and provides some counselling services.  We are looking to revitalise our Trustee Board and require a new Chair of Trustees.

1. Your general statutory responsibilities as a trustee:

· Ensuring that the organisation pursues its stated objects (purposes), as defined in its governing document, by developing and agreeing a long-term strategy

· Ensuring that the organisation complies with its governing document (ie its constitution), charity law, and any other relevant legislation or regulations

· Ensuring that the organisation applies its resources exclusively in pursuance of its charitable objects (ie the charity must not spend money on activities that are not included in its own objects, however worthwhile or charitable those activities are) for the benefit of the public

· Ensuring that the organisation defines its goals and evaluates performance against agreed targets

· Safeguarding the good name and values of the organisation

· Ensuring the effective and efficient administration of the organisation, including having appropriate policies and procedures in place

· Ensuring the financial stability of the organisation

· Protecting and managing the property of the charity and ensuring the proper investment of the charity’s funds

In addition to the above statutory duties, each trustee should use any specific skills, knowledge or experience they have to help the board of trustees reach sound decisions.

This may involve:-

· scrutinising board papers,

· leading discussions,

· focusing on key issues,

· providing advice and guidance on new initiatives, or other issues in which the trustee has special expertise.

Your responsibilities as Chair of Trustees include:

· Providing leadership to the organisation and the board by ensuring that everyone remains focused on the delivery of the organisation’s charitable purposes in order to provide greater public benefit

· Chairing and facilitating board meetings

· Giving direction to board policy-making

· Checking that decisions taken at meetings are implemented

· Representing the organisation at functions and meetings, and acting as a spokesperson as appropriate

· Bringing impartiality and objectivity to decision-making

· Planning the annual cycle of board meetings and other general meetings where required, for example annual general meeting

· Setting agendas for board and other general meetings

· Developing the board of trustees including induction, training, appraisal and succession planning

· Addressing conflict within the board and within the organisation, and liaising with the chief executive (if staff are employed) to achieve this.

Person specification for the Chair

· Leadership skills

· Experience of committee work

· Tact and diplomacy

· Good communication and interpersonal skills

· Impartiality, fairness and the ability to respect confidences.

Fear and anxiety are incredibly unpleasant emotions and to frequently experience these emotions on a large scale is traumatic and debilitating. No one deserves that.

At TOP UK we also know that OCD and phobias are poorly understood, under-funded and stigmatised despite affecting millions of people. OCD and phobia sufferers often tell us how misunderstanding of their conditions leaves them feeling isolated, alone and afraid to seek help. At TOP UK, we believe no one should feel alone in facing their fears 

It is an exciting but testing time at TOP UK and we have just launched an ambitious three-year strategy. While we are eager to embark on this new stage of development for our organisation it comes with an acknowledgment that we are working in particularly uncertain and stressful times and there is a greater need to grow our service than ever before. Demand for our service is at an all-time high and continues to grow, currently dramatically outstripping our capacity. Mental health services are at breaking point leaving those with OCD and Phobias often finding it impossible to find help and dealing with debilitating conditions alone.

Meeting this demand will be a challenge, but it is a challenge we are ready and willing to push for but in order to grow and build our organisation we are keen to evolve, enhance and diversify our Board of Trustees
