We are seeking to recruit a highly skilled Key Worker for our Key Worker Service in East Berkshire. The role will be diverse and service user centred and would suit someone with significant experience in supporting young people and young adults with Autism and Learning Disabilities and their families.
The day to day work will involve a flexible approach to coordination and direct support for the young person and their family, as well as providing responsive communication at times of increased need. This is an exciting role which allows for the Key Worker to support families to navigate the system whilst advocating for them and ensuring that their voice is heard.
As the service is new there will be opportunities for collaboration and co-production and our vision is to provide young person and family centered support, whilst influencing system change to achieve better outcomes for more children, young people and adults under the age of 25.
The service will be provided across the entire East Berkshire footprint covering: Slough, Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, Bracknell Forest.Although the team will be “virtual”, there will be frequent travel within and across the East Berkshire area, therefore being a car driver with access to a car is essential.
The Key Working Function has been developed as a response to the NHS England & NHS Improvement Long Term Plan (LTP) commitment that by 2023/24, children and young people with a learning disability, autism, or both, with the most complex needs will have a designated Key Worker, applying the recommendations made by Dame Christine Lenehan in ‘These are our Children'.

Role Profile
This role is based within our team in the East of England. As a Support Worker, you will provide exceptional housing support services and housing management services to a diverse range of service user including those on Bail, prison leavers, and those going through the criminal justice system. About the role:
This role is based in Rochdale Police station along with some hybrid working, you must be prepared to deliver and facilitate recognised support and behaviour change programmes to perpetrators of domestic abuse (DA) and those at risk of becoming perpetrators. Your primary role will be to keep their service and the people that use it, safe. Your positive attitude towards your work and others will help to contribute to a great working environment. You will have a calm and personable manner and be able to handle potentially difficult situations.
Some of your duties will include:

Being the first welcoming friendly face for people coming into the service

Their night workers will usually work a 12 hour (waking) shift between 7.30pm - 7.30am, on a four night on, four night off rota. Although these are long shifts, you will get four days off after, which can provide a great work life balance.

The One80 team provides early intervention and highly structured treatment for drug and/or alcohol misuse to young people. About You
The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact on women and their children, as well as experience of providing emotional and practical support to victims of domestic and sexual violence.

You will be creative, find solutions to problems, and support refugees to feel safe in their new environment.
Some of your duties will include:

Implementing refugee needs assessments and risk management plans
-
Supporting refugees with advice on housing and related matters
-
Liaising with housing and other agencies on behalf of refugees
-
Assisting with welfare benefit issues, helping source household goods via various schemes and utilising any funding available
-
Supporting refugees liaising with gas & electricity suppliers and other suppliers as necessary
-
Being a key contact for refugees when they are experiencing difficulty
-
Working with interpreters, colleges, training agencies, employers, Job Centre plus to help the client have access to training, education, voluntary work, work experience
-
Organising and encouraging refugee participation in the community
What you will bring:
Previous experience in this type of work is not essential but you will have a real passion for wanting to work with refugees. Your values will match theirs, you will be committed to helping others and enjoy the real job satisfaction that this brings.
You will need to hold a full driving licence with access to a car as the role is based out in the community.
