Good Neighbours Scheme and Telefriends Administrator 

Age UK Camden is looking to recruit a skilled Administrator to support our Good Neighbours Scheme and Telefriends Service. 

Our Good Neighbours Scheme offers befriending and companionship face to face.  Our Telefriends Service supports people to stay connected and offers a friendly listing ear over phone.  Both services are delivered with the support of our wonderful volunteers. 

The successful candidate will: 

• Answer the telephone line and be the first point of contact for enquiries from clients and referrers. 

• Be the administrator for the data base system in use which currently is Charity Log, Record details of client and referrer interactions and have the ability to produce statistics. 

• Support the Managers of the service with a range of admin support

We are looking for a Recovery Support Worker to join our passionate, and dedicated team in Hounslow. In this role you will support some of the most vulnerable individuals in the borough, helping them identify their individual strengths and aspirations.

The Hounslow LIFE service is a large multi-site service with a large team of colleagues with specialisms in Homelessness, Substance Use and Mental Health to provide a recovery based approach to 86 clients across our different sites.  

In the role of Recovery Support Worker, you will: 

• Work with clients on their road to recovery, aiding clients to gain the necessary skills to move on from our services and into suitable accommodation.  

• Provide support to maintain independence in the community, build their skills for employment, manage their health needs, and look towards a brighter future.  

• Oversee housing management responsibilities to ensure we deliver safe, high-quality services. 

In this role you will work on a weekly shift rota including early and late shifts, weekends and bank holidays. Staff can claim an additional 20% pay premium for hours worked between 8pm and 8am Monday to Friday, and all hours worked on Saturday and Sunday.

About you

An exciting opportunity has arisen in North London for an experienced, passionate and enthusiastic Kinship Youth Worker to lead on a ground-breaking youth project aimed at supporting children and young people in kinship care.

Kinship is the leading kinship care charity in England and Wales. We work with all kinship carers – the grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles, and family friends who are caring for children when their parents can’t. 

This is an exciting and creative role for an experienced Youth Worker to lead on a groundbreaking project aimed at amplifying the voices of children living in kinship care.

With Funding from BBC Children in Need you will engage young people in North London to develop a group of up to 20 children and young people who meet regularly for workshops, activities and discussions about kinship care. With your support, the group will create a film which will highlight their lived experiences of growing up in kinship care. Working alongside a production company the successful candidate will support the young people to co-create the film and will play an active role in scripting, storyboarding, filming and editing.

You will be an engaging and creative Youth Worker who will lead on the development and delivery of a youth group based in Islington. The aims of the group are to enhance social connection, encourage positive wellbeing, develop self-esteem and provide skills for the future.

About the role

Working within our small, dynamic staff team, this role will primarily provide support to the Executive Director in the following areas: communicating the work of the foundation to key stakeholders; lead on and maintaining relationships with trade union groups; driving forward our community grants programme, demonstrating the policy, research and campaign impact of the foundation; general strategic and managerial deputisation.

The role would suit a communications or programmes specialist who is comfortable working flexibly across a number of briefs as befits a small and adaptable organisation. A successful candidate will need to demonstrate an affinity with, and understanding of, the work of the foundation, a flair for messaging, both in print, digitally, and in terms of design, and an administrative and motivational rigour capable of driving forward multiple grant-making programmes with complex timelines.

The role can be either home or office based, but candidates must be willing to spend at least three days a month in our London office.

• Excellent written communication skills, including writing content for different media (website, consent emails, social posts). Ability to absorb and convey complex issues succinctly, in an accessible format, and tailored to different internal and external audiences.
• Excellent verbal communication skills in order to present compelling and persuasive cases to, and achieve buy-in from, internal team members and external stakeholders
• High standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Able to multitask and to work at pace to meet tight deadlines.
• Time management, organisation and project management skills are essential, as well as the ability to plan ahead.
• Strong interpersonal skills, confidence, and the ability to work, communicate and listen effectively at all levels internally and externally with partners and senior stakeholders.
• Proactive, solution-focussed, innovative, and self-motivated individual with a can-do attitude, able to think laterally and creatively about opportunities, projects, and design.
• A team player, able to work both on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Excellent digital skills and knowledge of current and future trends in digital and technological solutions.
• Excellent numerical skills with the ability to understand and present communications key performance indicator data.
• Knowledge of GDPR regulations, as well as integrity and discretion over confidential information.
