• Lead on delivering our Volunteering Strategy and action plans

  What We’re Looking For:

• A relevant qualification (NVQ Level 3 in Management or equivalent).
• Significant experience in recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers — including hard-to-fill roles.
• Strong knowledge of Safer Recruitment practices and volunteer management systems (or HR equivalents).
• A successful track record of delivering complex volunteer projects to deadlines.
• Experience working in the charity sector, with a solid understanding of volunteer leadership, recruitment, and retention challenges.
• Confidence in using data to analyse trends and improve volunteer engagement.
• Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, including data protection.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong IT literacy.

We’re looking for two Place Leads to help drive our work in Stoke-on-Trent and East Staffordshire. Each role will be rooted in its local area, but both will work across the whole county, helping us build more connected, inclusive systems that support people to be active in ways that matter to them.

This work is part of a wider investment from Sport England, focused on changing how systems support people to be active. That means shaping how physical activity is understood, prioritised, and embedded, not just in programmes, but in policies, partnerships, and everyday decisions. You’ll work with partners, communities, and decision-makers to make sense of what’s already happening, spot where things are stuck, and help shift both the culture and the practice. The work will be messy, layered, and relational. Some days will be about strategy. Others will be about trust.

What does this mean day to day?

• You’ll spend time listening to what’s emerging in communities, building trust with partners, and making sense of how insight, decisions, and action travel across the system.
• You’ll support our governance groups, coordinating agendas, shaping recommendations, and helping hold people gently but clearly to account for the things they’ve committed to.
• You’ll track where energy is building, where its leaking, and where attention needs to shift. That means spotting patterns, asking difficult questions, and making sure conversations lead to decisions, and decisions lead to change.
• You’ll need to hold contradictions without forcing resolution: where different truths exist at once, where progress creates new tensions, and where outcomes are unclear. Critical thinking is key; this role is as much about reflection and challenge as it is about delivery.
• Some days you’ll be co-designing a development session. Other days, you’ll be reflecting on what’s working, what’s drifting, and how we bring things back into focus. You’ll be supported by a small team who care about doing this work well, with clarity, kindness, and a shared sense of purpose.

Role Purpose

The Role will be responsible for the entry and review of financial transactions from various sources including purchase invoices, payment cards and bank transactions. 

The organisation has grown from managing 8 entities three years ago to 22 at present. We have 41 accounts across 5 different banking institutions (in both USD and GBP) and multiple credit/debit cards. You will need to be adaptable with an open mindset and able to work with uncertainty and change.

We have recently implemented new accounting software (Iplicit) to better manage the multiple entities in our portfolio.  This role will act as a key part of the finance function now the new system is live.

Responsibilities

Initial Duties: 

• Processing urgent same day rent payments 

• Processing of purchase ledger transactions (including VAT entries) for 22 legal entities, in multi-currency, ensuring accurate re-allocation to other entities where appropriate

• Preparation of supplier payment runs for approval

• Completing bank statement imports and reconciliations

• Responding to internal and external queries regarding purchase transactions and payments 

• Other administration & support as required by our Central team (including People, Digital, Business Development & Impact) 

• Review and processing of employee expense transactions 

• Creating regular Inter-company recharge invoices for batches of transactions

Skills & Experience

Essential Skills & Experience 

• Practical experience in a similar role processing a range of financial entries 

• AAT Level 3 Certificate in Accounting or similar

• An understanding of the fundamentals of VAT

About the Role:

You will co-ordinate and deliver a statutory independent visitor service to children and young people in care or care leavers of Manchester.

You will recruit, assess and train volunteers to become independent visitors, who are volunteer befrienders to children and young people looked after or care leavers. You will manage a cash flow to fund suitable activities for independent visitors to enjoy with the young person. You will manage data and reporting for this statutory service so that service leads and other stakeholders can understand the activity in the service.

We are a child led service, you will not act outside of the young person’s instructions (except in matters of child protection and safety.)You will build strong relationships with the child or young person, independent visitors and other significant adults, you will support Independent Visitors to develop long term, meaningful friendships with the young person.

You will work in partnership with other parts of the service, organisation and external agencies and professionals. This is to ensure there are pathways to attract and retain Independent Visitors in the area and sometimes out of area.

This role goes beyond traditional HR, and will help to deliver significant systemic change within ATLEU and, through sharing our learning, for survivors of trafficking across the advice and anti-trafficking workforces. The successful candidate will strengthen ATLEU’s organisational capacity to become a lived experience advice sector employer, integrate exceptional people management and ensure that every employee is equipped to thrive in their role.

In the coming months we will be reviewing our structure to better align it with our purpose and strategy, which will include establishing a new executive and leadership team and this appointment of a People and Inclusion Manager. Oaklands & St Kilda's is made up of two newly refurbished six-bedroom homes, located close to each other in Ealing, West London. We work with up to 12 young people at a time, providing a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment. Many of the young people joining us are moving on from hospital, stepping down from more intensive placements, or transitioning from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services to Adult services.

Our team delivers 24-hour trauma-informed and psychologically informed support. You'll play a key role in helping each young person shape their own support and service experience. Everyone receives a bespoke welcome pack and is encouraged to personalise their living space, helping them feel at home from day one.

We place a strong emphasis on participation and co-production. Young people are encouraged to make decisions about their care, engage in partnership meetings, and take part in activities that build skills and confidence - whether that's cooking, budgeting, managing medication, or accessing education and work opportunities.

Support workers will manage a number of young people to help them to identify, plan and achieve their goals, develop relationships meaningful to them and achieve greater independence by providing a flexible and individually tailored support package.

This is a Waking Night role working to support young people throughout the night at the service.

- Building supportive, trusting relationships with young people and creating a positive atmosphere
