The Head of Fundraising will lead all fundraising activities, overseeing the full spectrum of income generation to support our mission of empowering young people through football and education. This is an extremely exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to lead on fundraising for an organisation which has barely scratched the surface of the fundraising landscape. There is autonomy over the direction of travel with a lot of support from the CEO on ideas and future programmes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Strategic Fundraising Leadership

o Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to grow income across all streams, aligning with the Foundation’s goals.

o Set long-term targets for income growth, monitoring progress and adapting strategies to capitalise on emerging opportunities.

o Act as a key ambassador, representing the Foundation at senior-level meetings with funders and corporate leaders to secure support.

· Trusts, Foundations, and Statutory Funding

o Lead on securing multi-year grants from major trusts, foundations, and statutory bodies, producing compelling applications and stewardship reports.

o Manage a portfolio of high-value trust relationships, cultivating new leads and ensuring personalised engagement to maximise funding.

o Oversee statutory funding bids, including government departments and local authorities, to support programme.

· Philanthropy, Major Donors, and Individual Giving

o Build and steward a portfolio of major donors and philanthropists, networking to identify prospects and delivering tailored proposals to secure gifts.

o Develop individual giving campaigns, including digital appeals and supporter journeys, to grow recurring donations and engage a broader donor base.

o Foster long-term relationships through personalised stewardship, ensuring high levels of donor satisfaction and retention.

· Corporate Partnerships and Brand Collaborations

o Secure corporate partnerships for sponsorships, employee volunteering, and content production, leveraging the Foundation’s football focus to attract partners.

o Collaborate with the marketing team to align corporate engagement with brand visibility and impact storytelling.

o Negotiate and manage partnerships that provide financial support, in-kind contributions, or co-branded initiatives to enhance programme delivery.

· Events and Community Fundraising

o Plan and oversee fundraising events, such as corporate football tournaments, charity matches, and supporter evenings, to raise funds and build engagement.

o Manage event logistics, budgets, and partnerships to ensure successful delivery and measurable ROI.

· Digital Fundraising and Innovation

o Support digital fundraising strategies, including online campaigns, social media appeals, and email marketing to grow donor acquisition and retention.

o Champion the use of AI and new technologies to optimise fundraising processes, such as personalised donor communications and data analysis.

o Ensure robust data management in CRM systems to track donor interactions, compliance with GDPR, and fundraising performance.

· Team Management and Cross-Team Collaboration

o Work with programme delivery, marketing, and operations teams to create compelling propositions and gather impact data for fundraising materials.

o Ensure all fundraising complies with legal, ethical, and governance standards, mitigating risks and upholding transparency.

o Ensure all fundraising activities, events, and donor engagements comply with the Foundation’s safeguarding policies, including DBS checks and risk assessments.

About the Role

The Donor Relations Officer is a pivotal position within the Donor Relations team. It works across the entire development function to ensure the strategic planning, organisation, and implementation of integral donor recognition, thanking, and stewardship projects. It also supports some Development and Alumni Engagement events.

The post holder will regularly liaise with donors, prospects, alumni, and senior members of the University community.

The Donor Relations Officer is a responsible and rewarding position in an exciting and fast-paced environment that will suit an experienced project officer. The role provides opportunities to influence the future direction of the University’s donor stewardship programme and to drive the creation of new initiatives that enable donors to deepen their engagement with Oxford.

Auditory Verbal UK (AVUK) is an award-winning charity that wants all deaf children to have the same opportunities in life as their hearing peers.  It supports deaf babies and children to learn to listen and speak with Auditory Verbal therapy and provides internationally accredited training in Auditory Verbal practice for health and education professionals.  AVUK works to raise expectations and outcomes for deaf children and increase access to, as well as awareness and understanding of, Auditory Verbal therapy, with a clear mission to enable every family with a deaf child the opportunity to access Auditory Verbal therapy through publicly funded services close to where they live.

Overview

Working with the Head of Fundraising, you will play a key role in securing income from corporate partners and major donors to support AVUK’s bold 10-year plan. These partnerships are central to our long-term strategy to transform the landscape of Auditory Verbal provision, ensuring that every family who wants their child to learn to listen and talk can access a publicly funded Auditory Verbal programme in their local area.

This role requires experience in relationship fundraising, ideally working with businesses and/or major donors, and a strong ability to build rapport and trust. You’ll be an effective communicator and collaborator, confident in supporting income generation activities that align and elevate AVUK’s goals.

With experience of securing five to six-figure gifts, you’ll use your commercial acumen to identify and nurture your pipeline and partnerships, contributing to our annual fundraising target of £1.5m and setting the foundations for growth to £2m+ in future years.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Corporate partnerships strategy

• With support and guidance from the Head of Fundraising, lead the development and delivery of AVUK’s corporate partnerships strategy in support of our overall fundraising goals.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities at a five and six figure value, unlocking new opportunities that contribute to a £130k partnerships budget this year.

 Business development & income generation

• Work closely with your fundraising and comms colleagues to create compelling proposals and pitches that resonate with corporate and major donor audiences and help you to secure new gifts / partnerships.
• Proactively grow and maintain a strong funding pipeline, creating new prospects for our priority funding areas through quality research, strategic outreach and developing engagement opportunities.

 Relationship management & external engagement

• Manage a small portfolio of corporate partnerships including our flagship partnership with Markerstudy Group, delivering excellent stewardship and ensuring long-term engagement.
• Lead the planning and delivery of the Sounds of Success event (November 2026), as a key moment in our stewardship and engagement calendar.
• Support the Head of Fundraising, CEO, and Fundraising Advisory Board in developing relationships with potential major donors, providing inspiring stewardship and maximising opportunities through networks, events, and strategic engagement.

 Effective use of systems and processes

• Champion the effective use of our Salesforce database to support you in high-quality relationship management and reporting.

About the role

We’re searching for a Regular Giving and Legacy Giving Manager to oversee a sector-leading, multi-channel appeal programme to increase numbers of gifts and donors to the University. Following the launch of Imperial’s bold and ambitious strategy we are preparing to launch a comprehensive fundraising campaign. The Regular Giving and Legacy Giving team will play a pivotal role in bringing about a step-change in regular, mid-value and legacy donations to the University.

The postholder will oversee and implement the overall strategy and supporter journey for alumni and donors primarily through direct mail, telephone, email and social media.

This is an exciting role with opportunities for the postholder to oversee an award-winning acquisition campaign, a brand new mid-value programme and a successful legacy marketing programme. The post holder will be instrumental in building collaboration with the Alumni Engagement team to promote philanthropy and take alumni on a journey to their first gift.

If you are a talented fundraising professional, who loves to collaborate, and has a proven track record in delivering excellent regular giving programmes in either the Higher Education or charity sector, we would love to hear from you.

What you would be doing

Working across the Regular Giving & Legacy Giving team, you will oversee supporter journeys for donors, working on cases for support, appeal development and data segmentation. You will have the opportunity to pilot new ideas as well as delivering a mature and sector-leading programme. Working across Advancement, you will build relationships with key internal stakeholders especially the Alumni Engagement team, Major Gift, and Event teams to capitalise on opportunities to embed regular giving and legacy messaging in all University activities.

What we are looking for

• Successful track record, in direct-marketing fundraising in Higher Education or the charity sector
• Proven track record of line management and professionally developing members of staff
• Ability to build strong relationships and collaboration among key stakeholders and teams
• Significant and demonstrable experience of managing and organising projects to agreed budgets, targets and timescales
• Significant and demonstrable experience of developing and evaluating compelling and response driven copy and creative
• Significant and demonstrable experience of interrogating, analysing, manipulating and interpreting large, complex data sets for targeting and segmentation purposes
• Experience of liaising with and managing a variety of internal and external stakeholders and obtaining buy in and support for projects
• Experience of working with external agencies (creative agencies, fundraising consultants, copywriters, mailing houses and printers)
• Experience of working effectively in a changing, fast paced and innovative environment.

This is a pivotal role where you will lead the growth of TLG’s philanthropic income, driving progress to reach ambitious six-figure targets year after year. You will shape and deliver a dynamic strategy to build a diverse and sustainable portfolio of income streams, including trusts and foundations, major donors, corporate partnerships, and legacy giving. A core focus will be creating and implementing an effective grants strategy to grow and maximise voluntary income from trusts and foundations. The funding you secure will be essential to sustaining TLG’s operations and enabling future growth.

As Head of Grants & Philanthropy, you will work closely with TLG’s Directors, colleagues across the organisation, and external partners to raise funds for innovative projects in the UK and support the expansion of our work internationally. You will also lead a small, talented team, inspiring and equipping them to develop each area of philanthropic income. Strong administrative skills and a commitment to harnessing AI for efficiency will be key, allowing you to focus on building relationships and sourcing new opportunities.
