We are seeking a successful candidate who will:
- Lead the financial accounting team of the RBL group to ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements and tax.
- Lead the RBL’s transactional processing teams with focus on cash collection, treasury management, payroll and accounts payable.
- Lead the development of RBL’s Finance systems to drive productivity within Finance and the wider organisation.
As a Director of Financial Accounts you will also play a key role in:
- contributing to the three-year Strategic Plan with the emphasis on the financial framework and develop supporting strategies alongside an annual plan for the team
- overseeing medium term plans for delivery of the year end, audit and major projects with a typical timeframe of 6-12 months.
- maintaining a system of internal financial controls, policies, delegated authorities and procedures to safeguard Legion funds and ensure that funds are spent in line with charity law, applicable accounting standards and (where relevant) donor wishes
- overseeing the Business Processes function (including Payroll, Payables, Receivables and Cash & Banking), supporting the Head of Business Processes to devise and maintain appropriate processes and controls
- ensuring that business critical systems are appropriately supported and maintained, that risks are appropriately managed and that external suppliers deliver a good level of customer service.
- The breadth of the Royal British Legion’s activities and income streams mean that our accounts are highly complex and we are subject to a raft of external laws and regulation. You will be responsible for ensuring that we are compliant and have robust controls in place, whilst also giving advice that is pragmatic and recognises the challenges of front-line delivery.

The Wikimedia Foundation seeks a Fundraising Training Consultant to work with Wikimedia affiliates to grow and develop their fundraising processes and capacity. In this one-year, 30 hour/week contract role (with potential option for renewal) you will be responsible for working with affiliates to understand their fundraising needs and challenges, and to provide them strategic guidance and support as they put in place necessary structures and processes that will aid their fundraising efforts. This role will focus on building the capacity of affiliates to raise funds from a variety of new-to-the-movement donors, including government, multinational and multilateral funding opportunities, and local high networth individuals, as well as advising on systems and structures (e.g. Board composition) for strategic fundraising.

In this role, you will support high value fundraising activities, covering High Value Corporate, Community and Major Gift Teams.
You will provide expert assistance to fundraisers in the areas of systems, processes, and planning to enable efficient and effective high-value donor-facing activity.
You’ll use innovation, problem solving and process support to pursue productive and best practice ways of working.
Your responsibilities will include:

- Compliance and regulatory responsibilities
- Database management
- Collaborating with internal teams
This role will involve some travel across the U.K.

About the role
As our ideal candidate, you’ll have strong research and analysis skills, as well as an understanding of prospect research principles and ethics, gift capacity indicators, and fundraising strategies.
As an expert communicator, you have excellent writing skills and experience creating various types of documentation for different audiences. You also have the ability to build and develop strong working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
To excel in the role, you will have:
- Familiarity with research resources and tools (ALF, FAME, and online)
- Experience using a CRM database (such as Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, or Microsoft)
- Understanding Data Protection, ICO, GDPR, and PECR Guidelines
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with tact and discretion
- Good planning and time management skills

This role is offered on a permanent full-time basis paying a salary between £55,000 to £65,000 per annum with flexible hybrid working arrangements at their London or York office with regular UK business travel and occasional overnight stays.
Reporting to the Director of Strategy & Partnerships, the Head of Fundraising will lead major donor, corporate and trust fundraising, bringing on board new supporters, so maximising their income and sustainability. The role is to drive new donor engagement and secure sustainable, multi-year funding building on their success, whilst accelerating progress to ensure they have the resources and partners to achieve their vision of a world-leading STEM education for every young person across the UK. The post holder will develop a strong pipeline of new business to meet income targets and identify new business and relationships to advance the mission and goals of STEM Learning.

They are looking for a candidate with a demonstrable track record of applying to corporates, trusts, and foundations to secure 6+ figure donations over multiple years. The Trusts and Foundations Officer will support the Trusts and Foundations team to meet income targets and develop and maintain relationships with donors and prospects. The role combines supporting the Trusts and Foundations Manager, Senior Trusts Officer, and Head of Fundraising with the maintenance of existing relationships as well as generating their own income from both smaller and larger trusts. The successful candidate will demonstrate success in securing grants from charitable trusts, foundations, and institutional donors. Proven experience in trust and foundation fundraising, preferably within the nonprofit sector or a similar environment is essential.
