You’ll be comfortable writing copy for web and emails and working collaboratively across teams to help support our direct mail programme. You’ll have an eye for solid fundraising propositions and be able to distill this information so it’s appropriate for digital channels. Ideally, you’ll have some experience working with paid advertising on Facebook and Google search. Are you ready to take the next step in your fundraising career? Chailey Heritage Foundation, is currently recruiting a Fundraising Manager and is looking for a dynamic, motivated and passionate fundraiser to lead our small team, running major fundraising appeals and campaigns.
Reporting to, and working closely with, the Development Director, you will be responsible for delivering the fundraising strategy across a variety of income streams, including trusts & foundations, corporate partners, capital appeals and events, as well as working closely with the Marketing team to further promote the work the charity does.

- Identify potential sources of funds and develop CHF’s Case for Support

Last year the Direct Marketing team grew income and donor numbers substantially with a focus on regular giving, online, direct mail and telemarketing. We are now investing and expanding and need your help. Our Direct Mail and Telemarketing channels will play a key role in the next significant step on our journey and we are looking for a skilled direct marketer who can move these programs to the next level.
In 2017, Animals Asia signed an agreement with the Vietnamese Government to bring bear bile farming to an end. In 2021, we will be taking the final steps to making that happen and you will play a central role in this incredible opportunity.
You’ll be comfortable working with our internal design team and external copywriters to develop copy and creative. You’ll work to find new ways through analysis and insight to improve our ROI and move more donors to regular giving. Fundraising Manager - Major Donor
We are looking for an exceptional and motivated fundraiser for this exciting role. The role centres on the stewardship and cultivation of both major donors and the next generation of philanthropists.
Relationship skills are vital. You will lead on projects, Fundraising and Young Professionals Board management and events within the Major Donor team and will represent the department to the rest of the organisation. Working closely with the Head of Fundraising, you will be responsible for identifying, agreeing and planning the approach of high net worth individuals (HNWIs) to raise vital funds for Missing People to an agreed annual target.
Fundraising Manager Responsibilities:
- Identify, research and approach prospective new major donors to meet agreed targets;
- Provide the Chief Executive/Directors/senior level volunteers with the donor insight and cultivation structure so they can build relationships with major donors;
- Personally steward an agreed number of active donors/prospective donors towards further gifts/new gifts;

How You Will Make a Difference
The work of GFI is entirely funded through philanthropy. Reporting directly to the Managing Director of GFI Europe, you will be in a senior, frontline fundraising role, building and sustaining relationships with our growing family of supporters. The Fine Print

Terms of employment: Full-time, permanent.

Location: Flexible - we will consider applicants from anywhere in Europe. You will mainly be working remotely: from your home, or wherever you choose. Once the COVID-19 situation has cleared, you and the whole GFI Europe team will get together in-person approximately twice per year for around 3-4 days at a time, most likely in the London area or Brussels. Subject to COVID-19, there may also be other work trips within Europe, and occasionally beyond.

Salary: £43,000 - £55,000 depending on experience and location. This range is based on a UK hire and will be adjusted if hired elsewhere in Europe.

Duties will include:
- Implement the strategy for generating income from Major Donors
- Maintain outstanding levels of donor service, communicating effectively and persuasively with key contacts at all times
- Directly manage a portfolio of major gift prospects, develop donor plans and ensure donors are effectively approached, cultivated, asked and stewarded.
- Expand the pool of major donors, developing relationships from research and identification of prospects through to securing of first and further gifts.

A little about the role...
Reporting to the Assistant Director (AD) of Business Development, in this role your primary objective will be to lead the development and implementation of Samaritans’ Major Donor Fundraising Programme to raise significant levels of income to support Samaritans vision that fewer people die by suicide. We’re keen to hear from candidates who are equally passionate about our charitable purpose to reduce suicide.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides line management, guidance, and support to the Philanthropy Officer, including identification of learning & development opportunities, within the framework of the annual performance review
- Strategic and operational leadership to Samaritans’ Major Donor programme – to enable step change, then continued growth and sustainability
- Manages a clear set of key performance indicators that ensures growth of the programme
- Develops yearly operational plans needed to achieve annual income targets
- Works with the AD for Business Development in setting, monitoring & reporting on annual income
- and expenditure targets, this includes forecast and pledged income
- Leads on all Major Donor acquisition, cultivation and stewardship programmes, working where required directly with Samaritans Senior Leadership Group and Income Heads of Teams
The Person
This individual will have substantial experience of Major Donor fundraising at a high level with a strong track record. You will demonstrate experience of building, developing and managing key relationships at a high level. To be successful, you will be able to present a fundraising case for support to various audiences, including face to face and in writing.

Fitzwilliam seeks to appoint an experienced professional into the role of Director of Development, a lead for philanthropic fundraising across the College. This is a key senior, strategic position and comes at an exciting time, with the recent appointment of Baroness Sally Morgan as the College’s ninth Master.
Fitzwilliam is a large, modern, diverse and friendly college and enjoys a seven-acre tranquil site within ten minutes' cycle ride of all the major faculties and departments. Supported by a new Communications & Alumni Engagement team, which sits alongside Development, the Director will lead a dedicated team of three with scope to reorganise and/or build the team as needed. The Director will report directly to the Bursar and will carry a dotted reporting line to the Master. Both the Master and Bursar are committed to give generously of their time and networks in the pursuit of ambitious philanthropy for the College. The Director will be expected to spend a significant proportion of time meeting with current or prospective donors in the UK and overseas.
As the College’s principal fundraiser, you will carry your own portfolio of major gifts prospects and will have a lead role in the solicitation of major donations. You will be a confident communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills and an enjoyment of people. You will have a strong sense of integrity and a proven track record in securing philanthropic gifts from major donors, together with experience of a variety of styles and types of fundraising campaigns, expertise in relationship management, outstanding organisational and management skills and a passion for the mission of Fitzwilliam College.
