Prospectus are proud to be supporting our client with their search for a Management Accountant at a time of change for the organisation. The Management Accountant plays a key role in delivering timely, accurate financial forecasts, management accounts, and donor reporting to support strong financial management and effective cross-programme operations. The postholder contributes to annual budgeting and statutory audits, continuously improving financial systems, policies, and processes to ensure alignment with the organisation's strategic objectives. The postholder acts as a primary finance contact and trusted finance partner for internal teams, external stakeholders, the post provides expert guidance, manages financial queries, and oversees a Finance Officer to ensure efficient, compliant financial operations across the organisation.
The successful candidate will be a proactive individual who is a Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CIPFA or equivalent). The postholder will have proven experience in management accounting, ideally within the charity or not-for-profit sector, with strong expertise in managing complex budgets and multiple funding streams. The postholder will have experience in grant financial management and compliance, and in supporting grantee financial management and compliance. The postholder will have knowledge of Agresso/Navision accounting software and Microsoft Excel and experience in line management.
The postholder will also have strong attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure. The postholder will have strong analytical skills, and an understanding of risk and audit principles. The postholder will have excellent communication skills, able to engage and support both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Desirably, you will have financial experience within an international humanitarian context or similar, including knowledge and experience of IATI reporting. In addition to this, knowledge of charity accounting and tax issues, including the Charities SORP.
Elrha are a remote first organisation and as such this role can be based from home, anywhere within the UK. There are also offices available for those who would like to spend time in the office. This role is full-time (35 hours a week) and initially on an interim basis, funded until September 2026.

Interim Senior Management Accountant
3-month assignment • 3 days per week • Start: Early January
Hybrid / London-based with flexibility
A national not-for-profit organisation is looking for an experienced Senior Management Accountant to support the Finance team during a period of high activity and organisational change. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive, analytical and hands-on finance professional who can quickly add value in a mission-driven environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening financial planning, delivering high-quality insight to senior leaders, and supporting the development of costing and pricing models as the organisation prepares for an ambitious period of growth.
Key responsibilities
• Lead the preparation of mid-year forecasting, including variance analysis and narrative insight
• Support the development of operational planning tools for the next financial year
• Build and enhance financial models, including costing and pricing analysis
• Produce clear, accurate management reporting for senior leadership
• Provide financial guidance and business partnering to non-finance teams
• Support technical queries including VAT and finance processes
• Contribute to the improvement of financial controls and reporting efficiency
About you
• Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CIPFA) or equivalent experience
• Strong background in management accounting, forecasting and financial modelling
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly to non-finance colleagues
• Confident working autonomously and bringing structure during periods of change
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
• Available from early January for 3 days a week

Your new role
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will support the finance team during a busy period of organisational change. Duties and responsibilities include the production of monthly management accounts; budgeting and forecasting and developing and implementing costing and pricing models. You'll provide strategic financial insight to the senior management team and non-finance colleagues and support the smooth running of the finance function. The role is 100% remote. The anticipated duration is 4 months+.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced Management Accountant with prior experience of developing and using pricing and costing models. Charity background would be preferable.
