A values-led national organisation is seeking a Finance Business Partner / Management Accountant to provide high-quality financial support, insight and challenge to teams across the organisation, helping to ensure financial sustainability and informed decision-making.
Reporting to a Senior Finance Business Partner, you will work closely with budget holders and operational leads, translating financial information into clear, practical guidance. This is a hands-on role combining robust management accounting with strong relationship-building in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

Key duties will include:

Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts, including analysis against budgets and performance metrics

Production of financial reports for senior leadership, boards, funders and internal stakeholders

Business partnering with operational managers to support budget management, forecasting and financial decision-making

Leading and supporting annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes for designated departments

Providing constructive challenge to budget assumptions and supporting realistic, deliverable financial plans

Variance analysis, reconciliations and investigation of discrepancies across multiple data sources

Development and improvement of financial reporting, dashboards and visual tools to improve accessibility of financial information

Supporting the effective use of financial systems and reporting tools, including training non-finance colleagues

Contribution to continuous improvement of financial processes, controls and systems
About You

Strong experience in a finance or business partnering role within a charity, not-for-profit or values-led organisation

Sound knowledge of UK charity finance, including management accounts, budgeting and forecasting

Confident communicator, able to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues

Collaborative and relationship-focused, with a supportive but appropriately challenging approach

Highly organised, detail-oriented and comfortable managing multiple deadlines

ISEAL is looking for a Finance Manager to manage the day-to-day finance function in a sustainability focused international not-for-profit organisation.
The Finance Manager, Financial Accounting is a hands-on role, leading a mostly remote team of 3 part-time staff, who collectively process all ISEAL’s transactions. They report to and work closely with the Finance & Operations Director, playing an important role to ensure that ISEAL’s finance system operates effectively.
The successful candidate will bring the technical know-how of a qualified accountant, the ability to support colleagues, an eye for detail and be happy managing a varied workload, both for themselves and the team.
ISEAL has recently implemented Sage Intacct accounting software and an initial priority for the role will be to support the team to improve their facility with and exploitation of the new system as well as supporting the roll-out of new functionality across the organisation.

Key responsibilities
Team management
- Oversee a team of 3 (2 direct reports) who process ISEAL’s day to day transactions, incl. purchase ledger, sales ledger and staff expenses /credit cards and payroll accounting
- Coordinate work planning, payment runs and monthly/quarterly accounting processes
- Work with the Finance Director to hold effective monthly Face to face team meetings.
- At times, provide back up and support to the different roles in the team
- Line manage, support and provide development and growth opportunities to direct reports
Financial accounting
- Responsible for and oversee the capture of all day-to-day transactions in ISEAL’s accounting records
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts on monthly/quarterly basis
- Oversee the payroll accounting, including 4 overseas payrolls
- Review VAT treatment of transactions and prepare VAT returns for review and submit it to HMRC
- Oversee timesheet processes and the calculation/allocation of staff costs into accounting system
- Consolidate ISEAL’s accounts and forecasts into management accounting-packs
- Support on preparation of the statutory accounts
Wider responsibilities
- Support the evolution of financial accounting procedures that are robust, effective and efficient, incl. acting as an administrator on Sage Intacct accounting software
- Engagement with the wider organisation on questions of accounting processes
- Experience, knowledge and attributes
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, or equivalent level experience
- Solid professional work experience in overseeing a finance function, ideally in an international setting using multiple currencies
- Competent in the use and exploitation of accounting systems
- Proficiency with Excel and ability to analyse, manipulate and present data to non-finance colleagues
- High level of accuracy in own work and ability to check work done by others
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with ability to establish priorities for self and others
- Ability to respond flexibly to demands of the role and work collaboratively in a small finance team
- Well-honed interpersonal skills, displaying professionalism, tact and awareness of others, including sensitivity to cultural differences and perceptions
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues, including remotely, where most interaction will be virtual
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Ability to manage and motivate others
Additionally desirable
- Experience with grant/donor reporting and international-charity-VAT (Reverse charge/place of supply and business/non-business input tax recovery)
- Interest in and motivated by issues of sustainable consumption and/or environmental issues

Annual leave: 25 days / year increasing to 30 days over time.

About the Role
The Management Accountant will work closely with the Head of Finance to enhance financial services and provide supportive management accounting at Solace. You will work alongside the Assistant Management Accountants to produce accurate and timely internal and external financial reports.
The Management Accountant will have line management responsibilities for the two Assistant Management Accountants.
In this role, you will prepare monthly income and expenditure reports for more complex allocated projects and the organisation as a whole, the monthly cashflow, funder reports and lead on the preparation of the budget and half yearly forecasting. You will ensure that management accounts are produced within established deadlines with commentary of financial reporting variances. You you will meet regularly with budget holders and be able to explain the accounts to non-finance colleagues. Provide project terms and financial information to the Director of Finance and Business Support and Head of Finance.
As part of your support to our business development plans you will provide fast responses to requests for support for pricing of new bids, grant applications, tenders and provision of other relevant financial information.
As part of the annual statutory reporting you will assist and support in the preparation of the year-end close and audit.
At all times you will support the Head of Finance to develop a business partnering approach between Finance and the widder organisation.
About You
The successful candidate will be a nearly or fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CCAB) or qualified by experience and desirably with knowledge of charity SORP reporting requirements, with charity experience on multi projects accounting.
Able to produce accurate reporting on timely manner and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Strong team player as well as working independently. Can work with non-finance budget holders with clear communication skills. Have strong knowledge of Excel and of working with finance systems.
