Job Title: Arts and Learning Strategic Lead

Location: Based at our head office in Islington, London (10 minute walk from Highbury and Islington station) with cross working in various prisons across England, Community sites, and home working

Salary: £47,000 (Full time equivalent)

Shift Pattern: 22.5 hours per week Monday to Friday between 09:00 - 17:00 with some flexibility. You may be required to work outside these hours as per service requirements.

About the role

This is a brand new role, supporting the Head of Safe Ground with the strategic oversight and delivery of our programmes. Safe Ground has been at the forefront of designing and delivering innovative arts-based, therapeutically informed interventions within the criminal justice system and in communities across the UK. As we approach our 30th anniversary this year, we remain dedicated to challenging systematic injustice through the programmes we run and the partnerships we build. This role is a great opportunity to be part of our transformative goals, in being part of creating systematic change.

Using theatre arts, and culture, we design initiatives to support those impacted by the criminal justice system in gaining deeper insights into themselves, their relationships and their behaviours. We do this by equipping our participants with practical tools and building a community who are open to doing things differently. In this role, you will develop best practice around creative interventions, building powerful partnerships with commissioners, partners, and other key stakeholders, ensuring our programmes are being delivered to the highest standards. You will lead on the development of new and existing arts-based work, identifying gaps and opportunities for growth within the sector.

• Oversee the development of new creative ideas and programmes as well as programme adaptations and redesigns. Ideas could be linked to theatre productions in and out of custodial settings, short films, live events, symposiums, but may also include new art forms and working with new artists
• Development of a local / national facilitator network
• Create and deliver engaging high-quality programmes which support rehabilitation and reintegration for participants
• Design and deliver innovation arts-based high quality training and quality assurance support to management and delivery teams across the SIG network - focusing specifically on relationships, culture and communication, conflict resolution, storytelling, power-sharing and co-production
• Lead on the development of creative ideas for Safe Grounds 30th anniversary, including; relationship building and partnership development, advocacy and networking, idea development - radio / stage / film etc
• Provide high quality peer-mentoring spaces, leadership, and line management to staff, offering guidance, support, and advice to the team to support them to perform to the best of their abilities. Facilitate the team in identifying solutions to challenges presented in relation to all elements of service delivery
• Proactively embed a culture of learning, development, reflection, and evaluation in a psychologically informed environment

About you

We are looking for someone who is ambitious and passionate about supporting people who have experienced multiple disadvantages and social exclusion. You will have proven experience in arts development and strategic support, with an extensive understanding of the criminal justice system and the role in which arts-based interventions play. You will be creative, empowering, and be a dedicated lead in supporting our strategic growth. You will understand arts-based interventions and methodologies, and have experience in developing and delivering creative programmes and productions.

• Previous experience in working and engaging with people of complex backgrounds, ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, challenging behaviours
• Previous experience in developing, producing, and/or performing professional productions for example film, television, or theatre productions
• Proven experience in designing innovative arts-based programmes and extensive experience of facilitation of programmes and/or training for various groups
• A theoretical understanding of co-production models and practical application of building them and embedding them into best practice
• Previous experience and/or ability to people manage and develop a team
• Ability to create, develop, and deliver new programmes and/or creative content in various settings such as prisons, communities, and wider criminal justice settings
• Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and oral. Ability to form and build effective relationships and rapport with others
• Proactive in making decisions to deal with challenges and providing a solution focused approach using initiative

Role Summary

The main function of the Bookings Team Executive role is to provide high quality customer service for the Into Film Festival. This will mean receiving calls, processing bookings and liaising with educators through email and by phone. It will also involve making outbound calls to drive bookings, speaking to attending teachers and liaising with cinemas to ensure the festival runs smoothly. This is an exciting, front-line, varied role requiring high level communication skills and a solution focused attitude. It is an opportunity to develop customer service and CRM (Salesforce/Aerian) skills and to work for the world’s largest film festival for young people.  This role is offered on a fixed term, three-month basis.

Main Responsibilities:

• To be the first point of contact for public festival enquiries; answering calls and emails, processing bookings and problem solving.
• Proactively reaching out over email and phone to educators/bookers, aiming to sign them up to the festival.
• Liaising with the festival team to ensure all enquiries and issues are resolved.
• Checking, updating and uploading booking information onto our festival website (via Aerian - training available).
• Updating the daily incident log (via Excel) - this is used for tracking all enquiries/issues from cinemas. 
• Liaising with exhibitors as and when required and as directed.
• General support in relation to all aspects of the festival.
• Any other reasonable duties assigned by Into Film.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Director of Finance and IT with a health research charity, on a full-time (or part-time - 4 days per week), permanent basis. As Director of Finance and IT you will work closely with the CEO and Board of Trustees to maintain, and advise on, regulatory financial responsibilities for the charity. You will be responsible for ensuring effective strategic and operational financial planning, monitoring and reporting to enhance the decision-making processes of the charity and to ensure it complies with all statutory and external requirements and regulations.

Please note, there is hybrid working in place with this organisation with 2 days per week required in the office.

As Director of Finance and IT, you will:

- Provide financial leadership and oversight to support and guide decision making by the CEO and Board of Trustees

- Ensure the charity’s day-to-day financial processes and systems run effectively and efficiently

- Lead on all financial planning, reporting, including cashflows, budgets and forecasts (as required) and support the SLT on all aspects of financial planning for business cases, grant scenarios etc

- Prepare and organise end-of year files for the annual external audit, and act as the main liaison with the auditors throughout the audit

- Prepare management accounts for the CEO/SMT, Board and other stakeholders as required

- Maintain Xero accounting system, monitor cash flow and ensure due process is followed and all financial information is correctly coded

The successful applicant will:

- Have significant demonstrable experience in finance within the charity sector, in a similar role

- Be fully qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA etc)

- Have good working knowledge of the Charities Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP)

- Have experience of being responsible for financial management at a daily level as well as a strategic level

- Have experience with driving improvements in processes

- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Overview of the Regional Coordinator role and the team

The Regional Coordinator plays a vital role in advancing the mission of Barnabas Aid by

building and nurturing relationships with churches, Christian organisations, and

individuals. The role aims to raise awareness, prayer, and financial support for the

persecuted church, fostering a network of engaged supporters and expanding the

organisation’s outreach.

Main duties and responsibilities

Strategy Implementation and Reporting:o Develop and execute regional outreach strategies aligned with organisational

goals.

o Monitor and evaluate engagement initiatives, providing regular updates and

reports.

o Maintain accurate records of engagements and donor activities using internal

systems.

Prayer Mobilisation:

o Host regular prayer meetings (virtual or in-person) for the region.

o Disseminate prayer resources and stay updated on current prayer requests.

o Attend daily organisational devotions in-person or online, unless this is not possible

due to an event or meeting.

Awareness Raising:

o Speak at churches, schools, conferences, and community events to share

Barnabas Aid’s mission.

Income Generation and Donations:

A mission-driven and impact focused single programme NGO is seeking a Finance Business Partner with strong financial modelling skills for a part-time, fully remote fixed term contract for approximately 4-6 months. The role is to support the Finance Director, HR team, CEO and other stakeholders with business partnering, along with specific financial modelling projects.

The organisation’s mission is to get 3-6 year old children in rural Africa to thrive. They have developed an award-winning Early Childhood Development programme, proven its impact through rigorous evaluation, and scaled it with governments in both Ghana and Uganda. It is currently reaching over 300,000 children per year, and we aim to reach 1 million children per year by 2028. The programme benefits both preschool age children and unlocks the potential of marginalised rural parents.

You will work in a busy finance team based in the UK, Ghana and Uganda. The role can be done fully-remotely from within the UK, and the salary range on offer is circa £50,000 - £60,000 FTE (pro-rata). It is anticipated there will be around 2-3 days work per week for approximately 4-6 months.

Experience within a business partnering / modelling role within the NGO sector would be very useful, but is not essential.

Duties include:

• Work focused on adaptions for new contexts: The programme targets rural communities in Ghana and Uganda. This year the organisation plans to scale to a new country and to test ways to adapt it for this new context. They are also keen to explore whether the programme can be adapted for refugee settings.
• Financial modelling focused on selecting a new country to launch the programme
• Specific cost modelling and fundraising modelling around the corporate sponsorship of the organisation’s radio station project

• Develop and strengthen robust and flexible cost models (including sensitivity analyses/stress testing) to guide decisions around the pace and rate of scale, staffing & resource requirements (HR), ensure value for money and maximise cost efficiencies.
• Develop robust budgets for new and renewal funder applications, considering complexities around funder restrictions, currency exchange and forecast economic conditions.
• Analysis and modelling on organisational procedures & policies and capacity building projects

Requirements:

• Fully or part-qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent
• Demonstrable experience with finance business partnering to a range of stakeholders
• Strong financial modelling skills – ideally in things such as cost analysis, funding analysis etc
• Intermediate/advanced Excel and strong data analysis skills
• An understanding of international charity finance - donor reporting, programmes finance, foreign currency transactions is useful
