Job description

At Hestia, we are guided by our core values and are dedicated to fostering an equitable, diverse, and inclusive organisation. Our mission is to empower individuals to rebuild their lives and achieve independence. Right now, we are looking for a Support Worker to play a pivotal role in our Coxley House Registered Care Home in Tower Hamlets.

Sounds great, what will I be doing?

In this role, the individual will manage a caseload of clients requiring early intervention or preventative mental health support, delivering group activities and co-produced programmes that empower service users to achieve their goals. They will clearly communicate the service model to ensure full participation, support clients in engaging with professionals across the community, and help develop peer support networks and community-based initiatives. The role involves working flexibly as part of a team to meet service needs, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all users, and maintaining accurate and confidential records. Additionally, the individual will participate in supervisions, reviews, and core service tasks, ensuring referrals and assessments are completed effectively and on time.

What do I need to bring with me?

You'll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires as well as match our values and mission. You don't have to tick all the boxes right away; the important thing is that you're willing to learn. We also value lived experience of the areas we support, so if you feel comfortable, please do mention this on your application.

Here's what the team will be looking for

The ideal candidate will have experience managing a caseload of individuals needing early intervention or preventative mental health support, and be confident in delivering group activities and structured programmes. They will be able to clearly explain service aims and pathways to enable full service user engagement and co-production of support. Strong interpersonal skills are essential to empower clients in working with a range of community professionals, including mental health teams, housing providers, and employment services. The candidate must be a flexible team player, capable of supporting service coverage and contributing to the development of community-based activities, peer networks, and other empowering initiatives. They will also be expected to monitor the wellbeing and safety of service users, maintain accurate and confidential records, ensure timely referrals and assessments, and proactively contribute to the smooth running of the service. A commitment to ongoing supervision, appraisal, and continuous improvement is essential.
