The Queen’s Reading Room is the charity founded by Her Majesty Queen Camilla in 2023. We believe that books make us happier, healthier and better connected, having a strong positive impact on our mental health, brain health and social connectedness. Our audience is predominantly digital, reaching 12 million people annually in 183 countries. About the Role

The Queen’s Reading Room is funded entirely by grants, donations, sponsorship and income from events. We’re looking for a vibrant and well-connected individual to join the small but agile team, to lead this function within the charity and design and set up a fundraising committee. You will build on a strong base of income generation and work to sustain and expand it.

You will be responsible for building the fundraising strategy with the charity’s CEO and Board of Trustees; for identifying appropriate opportunities to generate funding in the UK and internationally; and for the targets agreed by the CEO and board. You will be comfortable with, and have experience in, the world of high profile and high net-worth individuals, legacy fundraising, fundraising and friendraising events. You will know how to build relationships with individual donor prospects along with charitable trusts, foundations and other institutional funders. You will attend networking events and meetings with potential donors.

Your role will include devising and creating fundraising events; securing sponsorship for events and festivals; contributing to the writing and submitting of funding applications to charitable trusts and foundations; and advising and providing suitable copy for fundraising marketing and digital materials. You will work with the team to create case studies and grant reports, sharing and telling great stories to supporters to ensure that they understand the difference that their donations make and with a view to securing repeat support.

You’ll create new relationships by preparing and delivering pitches, talks and presentations and prepare reports and give presentations on fundraising progress to the CEO and the Board of Trustees.

You will join as a key member of the organisation, alongside the CEO, Director of Operations, Director of MarComms, Head of Talent, Head of Production and Team Researcher.

About You

Our ideal candidate will have a proven track record of significant and sustained income generation. You’ll have a track record of managing and developing relationships with individual donors and be committed to building good internal and external relationships. You will have experience of performing due diligence and have a careful and considered approach to fundraising. Your knowledge of the fundraising market will be excellent. You will understand the complexity of the charity landscape and the sensitivities of the role. You will understand the need for confidentiality to be paramount.

Strong writing and presentation skills are essential.

There will be a lot going on at once, so we’ll be looking for someone who is flexible with changing priorities and who has excellent administrative, IT, organisational and planning skills. You’ll be able to prioritise your workload, manage administration and be able to work independently. You will be an excellent team player but be able to take responsibility for your own work stream.

You’ll have a passion for charity work and a strong commitment to the organisational ethos and goals of The Queen’s Reading Room.

Our client is one of the largest women's hostels in the UK for vulnerable women affected by homelessness. They offer support to women with a range of complex needs, including substance misuse, mental health issues and domestic violence, and provide these support services in a warm, welcoming and secure environment. They are now recruiting for 2 Education, Employment and Training (EET) Workers to deliver meaningful activities and EET opportunities for women. As our client’s new EET Workers, you will work as part of a small, tight-knit team, delivering meaningful activities and employment, education and training opportunities to a variety of vulnerable women, mostly on a 1:1 basis. You will empower services users by developing life and employability skills and providing opportunities for involvement. Working with women mostly on a 1:1 basis but also in a group setting, you will facilitate sessions for women with varied support needs as well as effectively working with prospective partners across the homeless sector as well as external stakeholders including professional agencies, training providers and recruiters.

To apply for this role, you will have proven experience of supporting hard to reach service users, ideally in an employability capacity, although this is not essential. You will have experience of providing personalised, tailored, trauma-informed support to a variety of people with complex needs and will be warm and approachable in your manner. • Working as part of the Grounds and Gardens team to maintain and improve soft and hard landscaping on Trust land as directed.
• Assisting in keeping Westway Trust’s land clean and tidy and reporting any damage.
• Co-operating with the Facilities Team, Events Team and other Westway Staff to deliver support to events as part of the wider organisation.
• Welcoming volunteers and community groups onto the estate to learn from the Grounds and Gardens team.
• Ensuring all relevant Health and Safety standards are adhered to with regards to personal safety, and the safety of members of the public using the gardens.
• Being responsible for the proper use, maintenance and safe storage of all plant, machinery, tools and equipment such as leaf blowers, strimmers, hedgecutters, graffiti removal equipment and mowers.
• Undertake planned and unplanned garden maintenance work on Trust grounds as directed.

We are seeking a Perinatal Outreach Coordinator to provide person-centred, individual and group support to perinatal women (pregnant women and birthing people of children less than 2 years old) within the London Borough of Greenwich. The role works directly with the Oxleas Perinatal Mental Health Team and is employed by South East London Mind.

You will be responsible for supporting women under the care of the Oxleas Perinatal Mental Health Team with moderate to severe mental health challenges who have been identified as requiring additional practical and social support. You will work one-to-one in the community to develop personalised plans focused on their recovery, providing support to help them get and remain well during the perinatal period.

You will develop, deliver and facilitate a programme of perinatal support groups and other activities that encourage women to access outreach support within the local community, develop social networks and reduce isolation as part of their recovery plan. Current activities include weekly play sessions, walking group, soft play, picnics and monthly outings.

Applicants should have a good understanding of mental health challenges in the perinatal period alongside experience of supporting families with multiple and diverse needs. An ability to work independently but collaboratively, to be proactive and highly organised is essential for this role.

• Applicants will be required to attend a weekly multi-disciplinary team meeting every Tuesday afternoon (based in Bexley DA2).

What you’ll do

You will play a vital role within an innovative, community-based mental health service jointly commissioned by the London Borough of Harrow and NW London NHS, in partnership with Anna Freud. You will deliver brief, evidence-based interventions - primarily CBT, trauma-informed, and Mentalization approaches - to children and families experiencing mild to moderate mental health challenges. Working across schools, homes, and community venues, you will conduct psychological assessments, offer individual and group therapy, and collaborate with professionals to support complex cases. You will also provide consultation, training, and supervision to school staff and Wellbeing Practitioners, ensuring a trauma-informed and neurodiversity-aware approach.

What you’ll bring

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled mental health professional with a strong foundation in therapeutic interventions and a commitment to supporting children, young people, and families within a community-based setting. Essential qualification, experience and skills:

• Proven experience delivering evidence-based psychological interventions such as CBT, including a recognised qualification in a core profession of Clinical/Counselling Psychology, Family Therapy or other recognised background in child and adolescent mental health.
• Strong assessment and formulation skills, with the ability to manage complex cases and tailor support to individual needs.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, particularly when working across schools, families, and multi-agency teams.
• Experience providing consultation, supervision, or training to professionals, ideally within educational or mental health settings.
• Cultural competence and a trauma-informed, neurodiversity-aware approach to working with diverse communities and safeguarding vulnerable individuals.

Key details

Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week): usual working hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00. Flexible working is possible, subject to discussion and operational needs.

Salary: £46,800 per annum FTE, plus 6% contributory pension scheme.

Location: Hybrid working (a mixture of onsite and home/remote working). 60-80% in-person working to deliver intervention therapy sessions across Harrow Community sites (Cedars Children’s Centre, 127 Whittlesea Road, Harrow HA3 6ND) and occasionally at Anna Freud, 4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH).

Contract type: Permanent.

Job Title: Children and Family Worker

Location: Based on site in West London (This location is hidden due to the sensitive nature of the service) Unfortunately this service does not have step free access.

Salary: £27,007.50

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week on a rolling rota Monday to Friday between 07:30 - 15:30, 09:00 - 17:00 and 11:30 - 19:30 with occasional Saturdays, at least one Saturday every 3 months between 09:00 - 17:00. 

About the role

Are you passionate about providing safe and stable accommodation to women and children escaping domestic abuse? Wanting to help make a difference and provide specialist support to them to gain greater independence? This might be the role for you.

As a Children and Family worker, you will be based within our Women's Refuge service, supporting women and children up to the age of 15 who have escaped domestic abuse. You will deliver trauma-informed, child and family centred support to promote safety and wellbeing, working collaboratively with mothers to strengthen the parent-child relationship during a time of crisis. You will support with both emotional and practical day-to-day support. This is typically done through key work sessions, risk assessments, and empowerment focused activities. 

You will play a vital role in supporting families, being the sole specialist within the service, which gives you autonomy to shape the role based on your expertise and experience. You will lead on child-focused support, as well as working part of the wider team to provide the support to mothers. You will deliver a range of support for children and young people, as well as family and parenting support. 

About you

We are looking for someone who has a real passion to support families and children who have experienced domestic abuse. You will have a trauma-informed understanding of domestic abuse and the impact it has on families, and will be able to engage in sensitive conversations, recognising signs on trauma, and being proactive to support families to overcome this. This is a hands-on, active role, ideal for someone who is creative, energetic, and passionate about working directly with families. You will be a team player, able to collaborate and provide support to colleagues as needed. 

• A background in working with adults and children, particularly from trauma affected backgrounds
• Experience in supporting mothers in helping children transition to new schools
• Proven ability to plan and deliver engaging play sessions, after school activities, and family events as well as religious and national celebrations
• Confidence in working with children who may have behavioural challenges, being able to signpost to early intervention services
• Experience/ability to support children with special educational needs or additional behavioural needs
• Ability to work in a fast changing environment
• Patience, empathy and resilience
• Creativity, flexibility, and a can-do attitude

Job Title: Occupational Therapist

About the role

We're looking for an Occupational Therapist who has experience in Complex Mental Health and Substance Misuse to join our residential service based in Croydon. You will use your skills and knowledge to support residents with mental health challenges, complex needs, and will provide specialist occupational therapy as part of their recovery. This is a great opportunity to shape your own role, alongside a team of Positive Engagement Workers, a Dual Diagnosis Worker, and Clinical Psychologist, whilst working closely with the Group Psychological Lead and other external partnerships. You will receive regular supervisions and have time with an external Occupational Therapist. 

You will:

• Deliver evidence-based interventions based on holistic assessments to support personalised recovery, integration, and promotion of independent living skills
• Be proactive with planning and delivering meaningful activities; this includes one to one and group sessions
• Work closely with clinical teams to meet people where they are, assess their situation, and write recommendations and signposting accordingly
• Assess their current situation through holistic assessments and put plans in place for them to overcome their personal barriers, to enable them for independent living and stability
• Provide psychologically informed interventions in a person-centred approach, flexibly to the resident needs
• Complete various assessments from function to task related to help empower enhanced community and personal engagement
• Set SMART goals in a collaborative way with residents, taking into account all information present from various team members and partner agencies.  

About you

We’re looking for a passionate, driven and qualified Occupational Therapist, registered with the HCPC who has experience working with people that have multiple complex needs. You’ll be confident applying theory to the practical working environment. We use a trauma informed, non judgmental approach, so it’s important that you can work well with others, fit into the team, and build trusting relationships. You will be able to apply your knowledge of relevant guidance and protocols to the working environment. You will have a background in a similar role, able to provide specialist support to our residents who struggle with their mental health and substance use.

What we look for:

• Ability to provide specialised occupational therapy assessment and treatment for residents/participants.
• Willingness to work in adherence to Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and Consultation Observation Tool (COT) and other practice guidelines.
• Ability to identify activity needs and wishes through various approaches such as assessments, observations, and discussions then use these to implement plans of action.
• Ability to recognise signs of deteriorating mental health, physical health, or other health implications and initiate appropriate interventions to prevent crisis or other risks.
• Supporting residents/participants with the relevant life skills, knowledge, and resources to support their journey to achieve independence and their desired goals.
• Ability to develop, participate in, and encourage residents/participants to participate in the running and development of various projects and group engagement activities.
