Our client, a successful and hugely impactful Charity that supports the interests and wellbeing of children and young people, now has an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Business Partner to join their team on a permanent basis.
Please note; this role offer hybrid working arrangements requiring at least 2 days per week working from the central London offices.
This role will suit an enthusiastic and highly organised HR generalist who is able to work in partnership with a diverse stakeholder group across the organisation, to provide high quality and consistent people related advice and guidance and an excellent customer experience. This interesting, busy and varied role covering the full HR remit requires an experienced HR professional with the confidence to independently manage local HR matters, whilst also contributing as part of a wider HR team.
As HR Business Partner, you will:
- Work in partnership with the leadership teams and stakeholders in your assigned business areas to help shape, develop and deliver people solutions in line with the needs and priorities of the organisation
- Provide expert and professional HR advice and support to staff and managers, ensuring they are equipped to fulfil their role
- Drive organisation results and increase colleague engagement, by working with senior stakeholders to identify and manage risk in support of the people and organisational strategy
- Work with colleagues across the wider HR team to develop the HR service and implement specific HR projects and policies linked with the people strategy
What you will require:
- CIPD qualified or equivalent, or be qualified by professional HR experience with evidence of proactive CPD
- Experience of delivering solution-focused, professional HR generalist advice to senior stakeholders, underpinned by an up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation, ideally gained in contract-driven Charity or not-for-profit organisation
- The ability to simultaneously manage numerous people-related projects across multiple business areas, and effectively navigate conflicting deadlines and priorities
- Experience of working with HR systems (ADP would be ideal), manipulating and analysing data and disseminating insights to a variety of audiences across a wide range of People matters
- Proven experience of influencing and coaching managers through a wide range of employee relations issues
- Experience of managing change, including redundancy, TUPE and culture change

FearFree delivers services across the Southwest for victims, children and perpetrators of domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking with the aim to break the cycle of abuse and support all to live free from fear. We provide trauma responsive support, and this post will be fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders and partners experience this in our daily delivery.
Our Triage Team act as the front door into our service working within a multi-disciplinary team to provide triage and early intervention support to individuals of all ages and risk levels affected by domestic abuse, sexual violence, stalking, including those with harmful behaviours.
This varied and rewarding role involves providing trauma responsive support to our service users as well as advice and support to partner agencies through our dedicated duty line. Our duty line operates Monday to Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm and allows for service users and professionals to get a quick response from our service.
FearFree is committed to flexible and hybrid working and this role will be a mix of home based and office based, alongside requiring travel for multi-agency meetings and other deliverables.

Key Responsibilities
Working with Vulnerable People and Risk Management
- Provide a trauma-responsive service to individuals of all ages and risk levels who have been affected by domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking including those with harmful behaviors.
- Demonstrate specialist knowledge of domestic abuse, sexual violence, stalking and behaviour change including the associated risks to victims, perpetrators, and the wider family unit.
- Offer advice, guidance, and emotional and practical support to individuals of all ages and risk levels affected by domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking.
- Support those who harm abuse by providing information, guidance, and risk assessments using specialist tools.
- Assess, manage, review risks to service users, using tools such as the DASH risk assessment, SOAG and RIC. Providing risk reduction and safety planning advice.
- Respond to emergencies and crisis situations, including suicidal ideation and the need to access a place of safety.
- Make safeguarding referrals to appropriate agencies including Children’s Social Care, Adult Social Care, mental health crisis teams, and MARAC.
- Work sensitively with service users to share and explain MARAC outcomes and other safeguarding decisions.
- Manage and support service users via telephone of all risk levels in line with service values.
- Safeguard the health and welfare of service users and their families at all times.
Team and Multi-Agency Working
- To be the advisory point of contact for colleagues across all areas of our support offer.
- Offer professional advice and support to multi-agency partners and stakeholders.
- Work closely with statutory and voluntary agencies to enhance safety, support and safeguarding.
- Make referrals to and maintain positive working relationships with external agencies.
- Feedback information related to service users’ needs, risk concerns, and trends to the appropriate team manager.
- Support effective team operations with a proactive, flexible approach, including covering for staff absences.
Administrative and Operational Duties
- Provide a responsive support service with high-quality customer care.
- Answer telephone calls, respond to voicemails and referrals, and carry out triage, assessments and action as appropriate.
- Assist with referral processes and early interventions, including contacting other agencies and coordinating appointments.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential written and digital records, including identifying service user needs and risk information.
- Assist with monitoring and evaluation procedures and contribute to the production of reports.

Role overview
An exciting opportunity for a creative and highly motivated candidate with strong technical expertise to help increase Global Canopy's impact by making world-leading environmental and financial data more accessible to our key audiences in the finance sector, business and civil society.
The role will focus on the DEFT Pathway and related products. DEFT is a transparent, easy-to-use framework that maps out practical steps for companies to transition to deforestation-free supply chains. Hosted by best-in-class data platform Forest IQ, DEFT Pathway helps financial institutions to engage effectively with companies on deforestation.
A key objective is to make the DEFT Pathway data accessible by building user-friendly frontend components. The data is complex and multi-dimensional and will require considerable creativity to communicate in an understandable and compelling way in order to maximise its impact. You will collaborate with designers, researchers and product managers to fulfill these aims.
As a full stack developer, you will also design and implement the backend to allow the data powering the visualisations to be accessed in a secure way. You will work with data engineers and researchers to ensure the database is well-structured and that queries are performant.
The tech team is small, so you will need to operate with a high degree of independence, and will have the opportunity to influence key technical decisions. We are looking for someone who finds this prospect exciting rather than daunting!
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, these are the things that will matter the most:
- Excellent full stack web development skills, ideally using python and typescript
- Knowledge of python frameworks for the backend, such as FastAPI, Flask and/or Django
- Knowledge of javascript frameworks for the frontend (preferably React/Next.js), and common data visualisation libraries such as d3
- Experience querying PostgreSQL databases, potentially using SQLAlchemy as an ORM
- Experience working with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS
Essential behavioural competencies:

Benefits
Salary: £60K full-time equivalent. This role sits within Band C on Global Canopy’s remuneration framework.

Base: Our office is in Oxford, UK with flexible home-working arrangements in place.

About the role

Freedom from Torture is a human rights organisation that provides rehabilitation to survivors of torture. We are looking for someone who shares our passion for human rights to join our team in Glasgow.
The Welfare Advisor works within the holistic rehabilitation model of Freedom from Torture and provides welfare advice and advocacy to our clients, forming part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will receive, process and manage welfare referrals, and act as a point of contact on welfare issues and in particular, for the Scotland centre. This role requires careful and sensitive delivery of complex welfare information and advice, often to very vulnerable clients. You must have in- depth knowledge of the welfare rights and benefits available to asylum seekers and/or refugees. This may include completing Section 4 applications, or appealing negative benefits decisions on health or vulnerability grounds.
About you
The ideal candidate for the role will have the following:
- Experience of working within a similar role providing advocacy on a range of welfare issues to include housing, welfare benefits and Asylum Support
- Extensive experience of working within the benefits system, including the application, assessment and appeals procedures
- Experience working with refugees and asylum seekers and an understanding of the needs of this group and the associated support services and mechanisms available
- Experience of liaising with external agencies and government bodies to ensure that service users are given access to their available welfare rights and entitlements.
At interview you will need to demonstrate your ability to identify welfare needs and provide appropriate advice and recommendations. You will be given a case study to work through and you will be asked to share your analysis and plan with us.

The Head of Marketing and Communications plays a leading role in developing the gallery’s brand, growing and diversifying audiences, and strengthening the visibility of the organisation locally, nationally and internationally.
