About this role
As a Communications Officer, your responsibilities will include:
• Raising the profile of Carers First by creating engaging and accessible content across digital and offline channels
• Supporting increased local presence and visibility of Carers First across the areas we work
• Assisting with the development and delivery of campaigns and projects, helping to increase engagement and promote our work locally
About you
To be successful in this role you will need:
• Some experience supporting communications and stakeholder engagement activities across a range of channels
• The ability to help deliver campaigns and contribute to the implementation and monitoring of communications plans
• Awareness of how analytics can be used to measure performance and support improvement
• Good written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
• Well organised, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
• Good IT and digital skills, including use of Microsoft Office and familiarity with digital tools such as email platforms, CMS, and social media scheduling software
• Positive interpersonal skills, able to build relationships and work collaboratively as part of a team
• Motivated and reliable, able to work with some independence while seeking guidance when needed, and committed to the charity’s values

We are looking for a Café Supervisor to join our dedicated team at Galanos House Care Home in Southam, Warwickshire. Experience working in a similar environment is essential.
This is a full-time permanent role, 37.5 hours per week with 5 shifts over 7 days.
Pay: £14.02 to £15.16 per hour.
Please note that we are currently only able to consider applications from candidates who have the legal right to work in the UK. We are unable to sponsor visas. This role is on-site therefore you will need live within commutable distance of the care home.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Oversee daily café operations. Lead a team of staff and volunteers to ensure smooth service, high-quality food and drink presentation, and a welcoming environment for all customers.
- Deliver excellent customer service. Engage positively with customers, manage feedback and complaints, maintain café presentation, and support special events.
- Assist with staff rotas, recruitment, training, supervision, performance management and maintain a high team morale.
- Ensure cleanliness, equipment maintenance, accurate records, and adhere to health, safety, and food hygiene procedures.
- Oversee stock levels, ordering, menu updates, promotions, and support kitchen operations to keep the café running efficiently.
You will require a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate. An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role.

To be successful you will be educated to degree level and have knowledge and experience in previous roles where you have developed a demonstrable track record of devising and implementing multi-year fundraising strategies which have allowed you to personally secure 5 and 6 figure gifts from individuals, trusts or foundations. You will possess the financial and legal expertise to structure complex gifts and bring them to completion.
