Job description

Head of Website Transformation

£90,000 - £105,000 | 6-12 Months (Potential to Extend to 3 Years) | Hybrid Working | UK | London

About the Organisation

Join a complex, global organisation with over 100 million users across 100+ countries, embarking on a major digital transformation journey. We are seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Website Transformation to lead the redevelopment of their global website ecosystem.

About the Role

Reporting to the Group Marketing Director, this senior leadership role will drive the transformation of their digital infrastructure, leading the implementation of a new content management system (CMS) and simplifying a network of over 300 business and country-specific websites. Acting as the Senior Responsible Owner (SRO), you will collaborate with global stakeholders and external partners to deliver a modern, scalable, and insight-driven platform that supports growth, engagement, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the transformation of 300+ websites into a unified domain and CMS structure.
  • Oversee the full life cycle of CMS re-platforming - from discovery and selection through to implementation.
  • Develop and manage a strategic road-map for the global website ecosystem, including content, functionality, and user experience.
  • Act as the primary liaison between marketing, communications, and digital technology teams.
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders and agencies to define requirements, map user journeys, and ensure alignment with organisational strategy.
  • Ensure SEO continuity, internationalisation, and content migration strategies are embedded in the project.
  • Build a deep understanding of the operational context to inform design and delivery decisions.
  • Support the enablement of marketing and communications teams to manage and optimise content effectively.

Person Specification

  • Proven experience leading global website transformation and CMS re-platforming projects.
  • Demonstrated success in managing website migrations across multiple countries, languages, and stakeholder groups.
  • Experience in the education, EdTech, teaching, or exams sectors is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and project management capabilities.
  • Track record of managing SaaS vendors and digital marketing agencies.
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms such as Drupal, WordPress, and enterprise-level systems.
