This is an exciting opportunity to join the Virtual Events team, helping to coordinate a portfolio of virtual events expected to raise over £4.1 million in the next financial year.
Within this role, you will be responsible for the end to end management of our month long virtual challenges , delivering marketing plans in collaboration with agency support and stewarding supporters to ensure engagement and participation. With a pro-active and can do approach you will ensure efficient event delivery, continuously analyse, and develop the virtual events portfolio. You will work closely with teams across Fundraising, Data, Marketing & Communications to drive income, collaborate and achieve high levels of engagement across the virtual events portfolio.
You will be a strong project manager, with confidence to take a test and learn approach to engagement across acquisition, and deliver exceptional supporter experiences. - Working with colleagues in comms and marketing, design and create tailored and tactical digital content for our social media accounts. This will include a range of media including video, photography and image-led content.
- Working with key departments such as fundraising, to plan and promote campaign work, with social media as part of the overall communications mix.
- Working closely with the PR & media manager to maximise press coverage through owned channels.
- Timely and effective responses to audience posts and comments, including signposting to other departments as appropriate.
- Working with external digital agencies and creators to deliver social media led campaigns, and feed into campaigns and strategies.
- Promote a digital culture within the Charity including training colleagues on social media and production of content as required.
- Planning, managing, and optimising paid social campaigns.

The successful candidate will have:
- Experience of developing and managing social media content strategies with the aim of increasing brand awareness, engagement, and donor conversions.
- Experience of data driven marketing, with experience reporting on and benchmarking performance.
- Experience of capturing and writing compelling stories and personal testimonies to demonstrate impact.
- Previous experience of using Canva, Photoshop or other design platforms.
- Excellent communication and copy writing skills.
- Be familiar with video capture and editing techniques and briefing third party suppliers.
- Ability to plan and manage busy and competing workloads.
- Ability to work on own initiative and autonomously as needed.
- Willingness to work out of business hours on occasion, including some evenings and weekends.

Post: Grants / Fundraising Manager
Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer, Umbrella

Responsible for: Fundraising and Grants across the organisation.
Job Purpose
The Grants & Fundraising Manager will play a lead role in maintaining and growing Umbrella’s income, with a primary focus on grant fundraising and the development of corporate partnerships. Working closely with the CEO, Trustees and staff teams, the post holder will strengthen existing income streams, identify new opportunities, and support the development of Umbrella’s fundraising strategy. This role is central to ensuring the sustainability and expansion of Umbrella’s services for disabled children, young people and their families.
Key Terms of Employment
Hours: 15-20 hours per week (may include occasional evening and weekend work)
Annual Leave: 22 days per annum (Pro-rated on hours) plus 8 Bank Holidays
Salary Scale: Band 11 to 13 - £30,763 - £ 32,591 dependant on experience (pro-rated)

Key Responsibilities
- Research, develop and maintain a strong pipeline of grant opportunities across trusts, foundations, Lottery, corporate CSR programmes, and statutory funders.
- Write, coordinate and submit high-quality grant applications and expressions of interest.
- Manage grant reporting, monitoring and compliance, working with operational teams to ensure accurate data collection and spend tracking.
- Identify and engage potential corporate partners, including through Marketing Derby and local business networks.
- Support the roll-out and delivery of Umbrella’s corporate engagement programme.
- Steward existing corporate supporters to maximise long-term value.
- Work with the CEO and trustees to build relationships with community groups (e.g., Freemasons, Rotary, sports clubs) to secure fundraising support and “charity of the year” partnerships.
- To work with the CEO to produce and implement Umbrella’s Fundraising plan and to report regularly to the Fundraising Marketing and Communications Sub- Group on progress against agreed targets.
General Responsibilities

Person Specification
Education
- Educated to degree level or have the equivalent experience in fundraising, income generation or relevant roles within the charity sector or similar organisation.
Experience

This newly created role will play a pivotal part in expanding the charity’s income and influence. You will:

- Support the roll-out of their Growth Lab, working with practitioners and community groups to develop innovative models, products and services for Community Land Trusts.
